someone didnt point out to me theres actually quite a few folders with minecraft written on them with the terrain.png file, or at least on my computer there is >.>

all is well in my world now ^^

Went to bin folder. found terrain.png ---->dragged it out and changed it with paint.net to support transparency---> saved it as .png to make sure. ---> re inserted it into the files as shown.... BUT IT DONT WORK!

ive checked the terrain to make sure thats what minecraft is loading. but my glass within the game is still UNCLEAN?!!?!?!?!

@MrJackejr all you have to do is open minecraft.jar and drag the terrain.png file into it. make sure you don't drop it into a file

@sagargamekiller im using a program called gimp, and i do everything u say, but i use dot by dot, and use white and go all around the edge, but it either goes crazy and mixes all the textures in game or i get these blue dots here and there in game on all the windows, i dont know how to copy and paste and dont have photoshop which im sure would be easier to use

@adarshsly i did use gimp to edit but never used it to edit minecraft stuff but anyways i think your using the paint brush tool which doesn't edit pixel by pixel so you should try and use the pencil tool.

@adarshsly I think if you delete the checkerboard pattern, copy the white stripe, and paste it (over and over again) as a new layer to fill in the deleted section, you should get the same result. I haven't tried it myself though.

heh, i tried and it worked, its the damn edge! i always make it perfect white but in the game all texture is screwed up like a changed evrysingle one, when all i touched was the glass portion

@Markio123123 No, paint cannot handle transparency, but you can use paint.net which is advanced and free or gimp.

DO NOT use this method, it deletes the original files UNNECESSARILY.

Instead, place the edited Terrain.png in the same folder as Minecraft.exe and run the game. The textures should work as long as the file is still there. This way you can easily swap out without risking breaking the game.

@smatteringofapplause lol this STILL WORKS and it does not delete any thing but anyways you should backup your files before you mod them this applies to any game you try to mod :)

@sagargamekiller Yes it does delete the original files. The game re-downloads them as soon as you take the new one out, but it does delete it. Also, if you just add it to the game like I said, you don't have to back it up because there is absolutely no chance of it going wrong! (Also, it can be done in seconds and doesn't involve opening a single program.)

@sagargamekiller I meant replacing the original Terrain.png with the modified one. You effectively delete the original, which doesn't happen if you simply place the modified file in a folder WITH Minecraft, instead of inside Minecraft itself.
