For example, this guy in the video could have done a whole 'nother downshift before they took off.

I think a lot of you kids who argue on these videos fail to realize-those of us who ride sportbikes own cars too. It's more about physics than anything. These bikes (stock) can out perform nearly every car in every way and the few cars (less than 10) capable of out running them in any condition cost soo much that a rather sizable home, a car and a motorcycle could be purchased. And at the end of the day they are in different classes. Enjoy both and quit whining.
While that car may be fast, lets not forget that motorcycles are really in thier prime between 0 and 125km/h (70mph) after that, nature is really cruel =|

Contrary to popular belief. Sportbikes can be beaten by car LOL. This is a beast of a car. Ive got a mustang myself and i had a 600 bike last year and my car was pretty close to it. I never got a chance to race them though. All this silly nonsense about "rider skill" is hogwash. Granted the launch on a bike is hardest part and is the most important part of a dig race...but from a roll if the rider can shift decently quick and and revving and shifting at the right time, what else can you do????

@joshebert1 Coming from a former cbr 600, gixer 750 and current R1 owner / muscle car owner, I'll say that 600s are very beatable from a highway roll with mildly modded muscle car (i.e. heads/cam ls1). A 600 isnt really that fast on the highway.

also for a 2008 mustang gt which is the 315hp model highest of all gt that I know of other than gt500 the power to weight ratio is 1:11 and for a 2003 600rr is 1:3.7 and so every one that needs to know that means for every 3.7 lbs of weight of the cbr there is 1 hp and for every 11 lbs of weight on the mustang there is 1 horsepower it is clear that the cbr has a better power to weight ratio someone needs to learn to calculate better even a gt500 1:7.6 which is still worse than a cbr600rr
@jsleeper81 one your calculations are wrong bc a bike cant drive its self with a rider, therefore its not 3.4 more like 4.5 for an average rider with a average 600cc bike, not to mention you dont know the full specs of the mustang two poeple in it no telling how much they way, and nor do you know the horsepower , and its turbocharged , so yeah reagular gt model would lose to a normal 600 cc bike. also the new gt is way faster with a better p:w ratio then the old mistake of ford.

a stock wheel base for the track you wont run but so good of a time, you cant launch without the bike coming up, so yeah he will run a 9 or 10 sec but take that same bike and extend it with a good rider it easily becomes 6's, adn that mustang will not have a chance with a 1000 so yeah take that shit to the scrapyard
Your Mustang might pull a bike in a straight away at speed, but the bike will completely obliterate you in the corners. No questions asked.
Mustangs have live, solid rear axles - essentially like running a race with your shoelaces tied together. They weren't engineered to race. And now that you have turbo, getting groceries will be so much faster!
@JerZeyFiveOh that video proves nothing except that whoever is riding that bike isn't that skilled. The rider is not taking the correct lines, which on a bike makes night and day difference concerning the speed at which you can take and exit a corner.

@Sideler74 I have the dark maroon and black 06 750, PC3 with a two bros full system. Dyno says 126.1 at the rear wheel. I dumped 15 pounds with the loss of the stock muffler and factory cat converter. Mine was the first year they had them. It is about 405 or so with fuel. Love the 750 best of both worlds, why anyone buys a GSX-R 600 is beyond me.
yeah valid point however the facts remain the same you need to spend around 20 grand on a basic GT plus what ever tunning you do to it.....so lets say 600bhp
CBR600...598cc maybe 7 grand decent 2nd hand one for maybe 4 grand few hundred on a slip on can...so for 7 grand you get something that can hang with anything with a good rider....soooo really whos the mug...20,000 plus for a car or 4 grand something that can hang with most things...i not what id pick

A turbo'd mustang (depending on the amount of money) is insanely fast. I have a gentlemen in my Car club that has a TT foxbody that runs 9s. Not too practical to drive daily, but it gets the job done on the track.
A bike v car race is about two things. Power to weight, and who can move it quicker.
A dig, a bike usually wins, depending on the car and driver or rider. A roll, a car will most likely win.

Most people (99%) won't come within 5-7/10's of the results they get with their professional riders performing tests over & over until they get it right. However, your everyday rider often times has no idea what it takes to truly get the most out of the bike that they are riding.

Look at a stock ZR1... its a 10 second ride out of the box. A bit of tuning and tweaking and your into the 9s on a car grandma can drive to the store.

also for a 2008 mustang gt which is the 315hp model highest of all gt that I know of other than gt500 the power to weight ratio is 1:11 and for a 2003 600rr is 1:3.7 and so every one that needs to know that means for every 3.7 lbs of weight of the cbr there is 1 hp and for every 11 lbs of weight on the mustang there is 1 horsepower it is clear that the cbr has a better power to weight ratio someone needs to learn to calculate better even a gt500 1:7.6 which is still worse than a cbr600rr

@jsleeper81 one your calculations are wrong bc a bike cant drive its self with a rider, therefore its not 3.4 more like 4.5 for an average rider with a average 600cc bike, not to mention you dont know the full specs of the mustang two poeple in it no telling how much they way, and nor do you know the horsepower , and its turbocharged , so yeah reagular gt model would lose to a normal 600 cc bike. also the new gt is way faster with a better p:w ratio then the old mistake of ford.

a stock wheel base for the track you wont run but so good of a time, you cant launch without the bike coming up, so yeah he will run a 9 or 10 sec but take that same bike and extend it with a good rider it easily becomes 6's, adn that mustang will not have a chance with a 1000 so yeah take that shit to the scrapyard

Your Mustang might pull a bike in a straight away at speed, but the bike will completely obliterate you in the corners. No questions asked.
Mustangs have live, solid rear axles - essentially like running a race with your shoelaces tied together. They weren't engineered to race. And now that you have turbo, getting groceries will be so much faster!

@Sideler74 I have the dark maroon and black 06 750, PC3 with a two bros full system. Dyno says 126.1 at the rear wheel. I dumped 15 pounds with the loss of the stock muffler and factory cat converter. Mine was the first year they had them. It is about 405 or so with fuel. Love the 750 best of both worlds, why anyone buys a GSX-R 600 is beyond me.

CBR600...598cc maybe 7 grand decent 2nd hand one for maybe 4 grand few hundred on a slip on can...so for 7 grand you get something that can hang with anything with a good rider....soooo really whos the mug...20,000 plus for a car or 4 grand something that can hang with most things...i not what id pick

@BadChevyS10 It's almost like noone realizes it not that hard to make a car beat a 600. the only reason they post a 10 second quarter mile is because bikes take off so damn quick from a start..after that a 600 isnt much faster than a low 12 second car. lots of C6 Z06's with a cam and intake with tune can handle 600's all day.

I think everyone here is missing the point.
A turbo'd mustang (depending on the amount of money) is insanely fast. I have a gentlemen in my Car club that has a TT foxbody that runs 9s. Not too practical to drive daily, but it gets the job done on the track.
A bike v car race is about two things. Power to weight, and who can move it quicker.
A dig, a bike usually wins, depending on the car and driver or rider. A roll, a car will most likely win.
Price comes into affect as well.

Most people (99%) won't come within 5-7/10's of the results they get with their professional riders performing tests over & over until they get it right. Then they publish the results & sell uber amounts of bikes becauuse of it. Yea sport bikes are FAST as hell, no doubt. However, your everyday rider often times has no idea what it takes to truly get the most out of the bike that they are riding.

Look at a stock ZR1... its a 10 second ride out of the box. A bit of tuning and tweaking and your into the 9s on a car grandma can drive to the store.
