  • man your sheet has viiiruuusseess

  • I know this is not constructive, but you are hot. Thank you for being so extremely attractive and likeable.

  • i call every one 10.000veiws i win give it give it!

  • besides the feeding them thing...hahaha. best way to pay free actors, buy them dinner after a shoot! have done that for two shoots now and not planning to stop

  • is there still a virus in the link?

  • It's amazing how many directors get out of film school and don't know these tips.

  • I'm from Iceland.

    I'm broke.

    Food in Iceland is expensive.

    I'm fucked.

  • Thank for the sheet Erik!! and for your awesome spanish!!!

  • erik, i am hoping on making a film for my youtube page, but i don't know the first thing about making movies and smallr videos. please help, Jacob.

  • @MrToystory2000 p.s. i was wondering how to make one of those things that you use at the start of your videos, once again thank you again, Jacob.

  • Lol i knew u would come back to ur buisness!!!! I mean ur awesome so as zack but u make the show entertaining! But honestly i gotta say he makes better builds but again u both are awesome and i knew u cant leave this type of buisness!!! :D

  • keep up the good work. its great to have you back... even if its not on bfx. (no offense to zack)

  • First!

  • The other thing about giving a line reading is that it put the actor in a position of copying you exactly, and if the actor is not a good mimic, then it will turn out awkward and weird.

  • Thats funny, I want to shoot a film with friends and the first thing my friend told me was to feed my actors lol

  • Erik, at the end of each epidode you shold sum up the five points literally on the screen. So one maybe can write them down and hang them on ones wall. I WANT TO HAVE A 5 topTips POSTER!!!!!

  • Hi, I'm new at all this film making how should I get myself in the flow

  • Some times try taking more than 1 cammera and put each on at a different angle

  • Hanging in the wind...... that's what she said! HA HA

  • Make sure your vision is known when you meet with your actors because they may not see the script the same way you do, so if you don't let them know what you are "going for" through the script, they may have trouble getting into their character and can cause confusion when you get on set

  • I'm subscribing here too. Only 60 or something to go!!!

I didn't take the risk of downloaing that sheet.

    Thanks for the warning guys!

  • erik... sorry but one of the call sheets have a virus

  • Hey, Erik, I was wondering, and apologies if this has been asked and answered before, if you had any suggestions for the best affordable equipment (mainly cameras and sound equipment) for someone on a next-to-nothing budget.

  • my friend has line read me for the past 4 years... it's annoying .. he gets money out of his project that i do for free... sometimes i just want to tell him to shut up

  • Awesome tips :) I give my neice Line Reads when Filming My Ghost Sister & Me cause she's new to Acting and she says this helps her. I also advise her how I want the line to sound too

  • That stabilaser would be nice :D

  • @Fredrikomovies try black and white, the makeup wont have to be as detailed, but still look good

  • i subscribed!!! ;:D

and i did it for the comment's

    and the prop i think?

  • I really want that prop!!!!!!

  • How am I supposed to feed my actors if I can't really buy them food and all I know how to make is Hot Pockets?

  • @cofeemugs1343 make hot pockets

  • Though I know that I will not win the prize, I still hope that this channel gets, not only it's goal, but even more than that because I know that theres a lot of IndyMogul and Erik fans out there! Best of luck Erik!

  • Sign the Head!! And then sign my head... I'm a big fan.

  • anal fucking dragon placenta......there was that an incorrectly constructed comment?

  • awsome.... amazing tips.... cudnt have put them better

  • Another good tip, if the crew/actors are all of legal age...offer them beer or to go out for drinks at the end of a shoot or if an actor is done their part for the film..make it a celebration. And it gives you time away from the set to bond as friends too.

  • Do you consider releases for the actors, im a photographer and thats is the "numero uno" thing to do. Is this not as important in film?

  • @Laclaustra I think preparing the release forms would fit better in the answer for "how to be a better producer". Release forms are definitely important in film too. But then, either way, no one is going to want to sign a release form if you treat them like crap. lol or come back for another shoot if they sign it and then you treat them like crap..

  • erik what is the best way to start a career in filmk making

  • @bee42351 keep making movies

  • i think that the prop should be usable! not an old thing of junk.

  • Erik, I'm making my first official video ever and this video has helped me alot but i still need to cast my actors. I've watched the 4 minute film schools but i always get distracted by the fact that Steve looks like the dough bag from the original Karate Kid. Do you have any types on Casting good actors. Please help me.

  • @stupidmuffinmovies I mean tips.

  • @stupidmuffinmovies And i meant doosh

  • It would be really appreciated if you could take the Call Sheet a bit further and explain the various parts of it.

    i.e. Prod# , Report to , etc.

  • SMIGHT THE O MIGHTY SMIGHTER!

  • Wow, thanks!! The frickin link has malware in it!!

  • Hi,

Me and some of my friends are making a film and I'm working on special effects and I enjoyed BFX but could you give me some general tips on the subjects.

How did this get 10,000 views in 3 days?!?

  • Q and Erik kicks ass, love u guys and indymogul in general!

  • Erm Erik, The link in the discription has malware in it. I got alerts all over the place here ;S

  • You talked about how to "behave" amongst older actors as a young director... But what about when your´e dealing with children? Any waterproof tips on that?

    Greetings from Finland!

BTW. Thank you for an interesting program! I´m studying to be a film director, but most of the tips you talk about here are often things they don´t really teach at school!

  • so why the hell did i got a virus from the call sheet link?!?

  • @Jcbproducoes Are you sure it was the call sheet? it could be all the porn you watch 24/7 (kidding)

  • @DKC1011 lol, i lold ;D

  • @Jcbproducoes same

  • SMIGHT YOU ALL

  • awesome we can win the skull from the melting nazi commander!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YAY

  • thanks erik i don't have alot of money but i want to start a comedy youtube series and i wanted to know if i could get away with 2 or 3 kodak zi8 pocket cams i can get them for about $100 apiece right now i have a good cam but i wanted to have at least two of the same camera to get differnt shots at the same time also could you do an episode on lighting for indoors. thanks again QandErik is the bomb

  • @MrSteveandJosh zi8's are really great, they're what I started out with. I 100% reccomend them. Just find a wide angle/macro lens for them on ebay (around $10-20). Trust me, they really help out.

  • @TheHolyMarshmallow thanks alot and awesome username

  • @MrSteveandJosh thanks, you too!

  • Uh exscuse me The call sheet is not down loadable

  • it says the callsheet has malware... i have avast! pro... just puttin' it out there :P

  • Erik, I have a very important question. I am directing a full length independant film over the summer, and I really want to get your imput on how to plan out shoot days, revoice recording days, and I don't know if there are any other majorly important days such as these two.

  • I got nostalgic and watched all the old bfx builds after watching this episode and seeing that head. Good times...

  • Wonderful tips there Erik! Keep it up! :D

  • @Djravencore and i care why???

  • how important is a script in a movie

  • @backinthewoods3 are you kidding?

  • @backinthewoods3 very important, especially if your using actors as supposed to friends (actually even i you are using friends) the worst thing you can do is finish an hour long scene and then say

"you know what? im not feeling that idea anymore, lets do it like this instead."

your actors aren't gonna show up for the next day, and your friends will think its a joke and just dick around. even if you film doesn't have dailogue, you should still have the choreography down. otherwise u look sloppy

  • @treetheoak hey i know exactly what you mean me and 3 or 4 friends were doing a chase scene and free balling it. it ended up being a big joke and i got about an hour of bloopers and five minutes of actual takes. at least we were friends and we looked at it as good time to hang out but it was a whole day wasted. never finished that 10 min film. now i write a script for everything even if its a 1:30 min comedy sketch. i give the actors leeway with the dialog but at least we have a general idea

  • What are some good places to meet with your actors beforehand like you said?

  • HAIL ERIK!!!!!!

  • Is the Canon Rebel T2i a good camera and is the rode videomic pro a good mic to go with that camera?

  • I like the Tony Stark Heart thing in the background. :D

  • now im not gonna subscribe

  • meap

  • What a crap prize.

  • Thanks, Erik! I may have to write these down...

  • Yea, I wouldn't want that in my house either, honestly... O.O

  • Erik, is there anyway we can get an update on YOU? What are you doing? film school?

  • that sucks, i wanted the bfg 9000 laser cannon

  • Thanks for the tips =)

  • Haha Il sure like to have that skull in my house! Alright I'm in! :D

  • i just tried to get the call sheets but when they were downloading this box poped up that said that the file probably contains viruses and then i end up canceling it. what do i do

  • love the mini marshall amp behind him :P

  • do u have the assassin's creed hidden blade?

  • I also recommend a couple things: 1)A shot list so that Director, DP, and cast all know what shot is being done and in what order the scenes are shot. Different from a call sheet because it includes the shot type. More for director, DP, and lighting guys. 2)After Action meetings. If people have time after the shoot I like to sit down and discuss with key people what worked and didn't work that day so we can improve the next day.

  • @irishdevil Creating a shot list is always an awesome idea. It gives you time to think out all the shots you want to cover and also order them in the most efficient way. Not only so you can group them by location and action, but also plan different shots of the same action (ex. Wide to Medium to Close-Up)

  • how can i mount a camera on a car?

  • Thx for the tips!!!

  • OMG, I think I broke the 1st rule many times YEARS ago...

It's a Damn Good Thing you have this video up. Me and a bunch are planning to make this short movie which I'm going to have to supervise and direct. So now to please the wrath of past mistakes, I will not forget to feed my actors and crew.

    Thanks for these major tips.

  • Hey, I have been wanting to get into film making for around 3 years now but I have never had the right gear or mind set, My question to you Erik is how is a 14 year old Aussie kid with little money and not many actors.... but a HUUUUGE BRAIN FULL OF WICKED IDEAS going to turn his ideas into a reality. Please get back to me, I am dying to start but i need to know where.

    Thanks. -Adam-

  • @slipknotdrummerboy24 As long as you are creative, you can do anything... I am 13, and I have made several movies.. You need to be creative with sets, Me and my bro have made multiple location in a white corner of our house, just a corner of a room. The actor problem is something we have had to deal with many times... we used 3 people for a cast of seven, Just use clever editing and costumes. But the first thing you need is something it sounds like you've already got, LOAAADDSS OF IDEEEEAAAAS!!

  • @DuelMedia Thanks man, I will make some more props, try get some more money and work on the thing i love most, film making.

Thanks for the push man. -Adam-

  • I don't know why people are bitching about what prize they get. It would be amazing to get the skull, in my opinion.

  • Awesome Erick! Great pointers

  • cool

  • This is some good dating advice lol

  • I want the four barelled shotgun!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

-What should I do if I need to do a scene in a street with a realistic weapon?

  • I have a question:

    - What makes a film very engaging?

    - What is the most important thing to be prepared for before you are going to shot the film?

  • What's with u guys asking for other things? The head is awesome!

  • that thing's gay i bet you just wanted to get rid of something you didn't care about or was just taking up space didn't you?

  • can you just give it to me now

  • Erik, thanks for what you're doing on this channel, its been so helpful. My question is concerning locations for a shoot. I have great ideas for short films I want to make, but how do I get access to, or permission to film in locations I see perfect for my films? Especially if they're going to be action sequences, with a lot of screaming!

  • Comment removed

  • @rgqric HUH?

  • Oooohhhhh mmaaaannn I want it

  • Could you do some tips on Editing different angle shots? what shots work together and what ones don't. Im aware of the 180 degree rule, but thats about all I know.

    thanks

  • I gotta agree about practice and preparedness, a few hours of readthrough often saves many more hours in shooting.

  • Thanks for the tips Erik, really helpful. i was hoping that we could of won the arc reactor or a call stabilzer or something, but the skull is still quite cool! keep up the good work guys!

  • Nice to see that Q and Erik is back!

  • 199th....BOOM

  • I subscribed the instant I saw the head

  • 197th!!!

  • Omfg i want the skull!! :D It would be so awesome

  • What camera did you use to shoot this? Was it a DSLR?

  • Anyone know the best way to shoot footage with a point and shoot? I just started filmmaking and could use some advice.

  • @jgabler5025 No matter what camera you use, the best advice I can give is USE A TRIPOD. This is even more important with small cameras. With smaller, lighter cameras, the picture shakes like heck if you try to shoot handheld.

  • cut off the annoying beat in the background next time please :)

  • wow. numero dos... now you can speak spanish?

  • I tried to download the call sheets. My virus software range bells and warned of malware.

  • The best way to inspire a good days performance, in my experience, it so show up with a smile on your face and letting 'it' hang in the wind for all to see.

True story. Not allowed in/near public parks and schools anymore.

    Fun day.

  • nice video!

  • Great tips guys! Very helpful! I'm sure that skull will end up in a museum in the future as a demonstration of the youtube era and what it was all about.

  • thanks i'm gonna use this info in my next vid
