Today, on the 51st Anniversary of the Tibetan National Uprising Day! HH Dalai Lama said:

P & T don't know sh*t about Tibet or the DL. People who pontificate about Tibet who've never been there should go. Charles Bell's Tibet diaries give an accurate depiction of the country at the height of the so called oppression of the classes. In my doc I interviewed refugees from Tibet about why they flee to India; torture, oppression, prison are still popular tools of the state. If you really want to know the truth, go to Tibet and see for yourself.

I have the privilege of knowing all three of them - and Penn & Teller know nothing about the Dalai Lama, about Buddhism - their show was a surface view of a man who doesn't claim to be anything other than a simple monk. What I read about previous lamas is, they were harsh leaders, taking high money and goods percentage of their poor Tibetian people, brutally punishing those who couldn't pay (killing and cutting their arms off), taking with violence beautiful girls from their families and kept in some kind of harems, and so on..

The Dalai Lama does not want independence but autonomy within China. This is a major point people tend to ignore. The world map at the United Nations in 1945 shows Tibet as China, four years before the People's Republic of China was created. I highly recommend that you search "Battle of China" in Youtube and watch that U.S. government-commissioned documentary from 1944. After 3 minutes, it shows how the US saw China's territory. The CIA helped Tibet only to fight communism and then dumped it.

Today, on the 51st Anniversary of the Tibetan National Uprising Day! HH Dalai Lama said:
"It is important that Tibetans maintain friendly relations not only with people of all nationalities, but also amongst themselves. Tibetans should not engage in petty disputes with each other. I earnestly appeal to them instead to resolve any differences with patience and understanding."
I hope that message also includes being not petty and being harmonious with those who practise Dorje Shugden.

And HHDL has allowed Trijang Rinpoche to practice DS. Why has the exception been granted? Is there another side to the ban?

How can HHDL ban something that his gurus, and their gurus before them, and their gurus before them have practiced?
How can breaking an oral lineage all the way back to the first buddha shakyamuni ensure a continuation of the dharma?

wow! the Gaden Trisul - the supreme head of the Gelugpa sect of Buddhism who has just retired - has left Gaden Shartse Monastery and joined Shar Gaden Monastery! This is a new monastery that has broken away from gaden monastery and set up on their own to continue their practice of Dorje Shugden.
The Gaden Tripa is second only to the dalai lama, so his move is instrumental!

No matter how much the Tibetan govt has done rituals, ceremonies and pujas to destroy, bind, or kill Dorje Shugden they are not able to.
It is amazing how many times they have tried. They have called high lamas from all Schools of Buddhism to eradicate Dorje Shugden yet they cannot.
What does that tell you, that they don't have enough power combined together against one Dorje Shugden?
Simple. Dorje Shugden is a Buddha and cannot be destroyed.

There were slaves in Tibet before 1959 when the communist party abolished the slavery system and ruling class of Dalai. But the ruling class of Dalai Lama still carry on in India till now in 2010.

Instead of turning away ppl who practise DS, we shld be kind to them. Invite them,teach them,slowly N give them logic N wisdom without fear, then in time they give up the practice assuming its wrong. Wouldnt that be a Buddhistic approach to all wrong-doers? Actually DS practitioners are not doing anything wrong But hypothetically, if they are wldnt it be a better N more true to the spirit of Buddhism to be accepting? So those reading this who have views against DS should CONTEMPLATE THIS.

Understand the real situation there and stop believing in all those propoganda and lies by Dalai Lama and his gang. it's true that many westerner went to Tibet now and have beautiful impression. The present real Tibet is so different from what Dalai Lama who always describe.

P & T don't know sh*t about Tibet or the DL. People who pontificate about Tibet who've never been there should go. Charles Bell's Tibet diaries give an accurate depiction of the country at the height of the so called oppression of the classes. In my doc I interviewed refugees from Tibet about why they flee to India; torture, oppression, prison are still popular tools of the state. If you really want to know the truth, go to Tibet and see for yourself.

the Penn & Teller show was bullsh*t. I have the privilege of knowing all three of them - and Penn & Teller know nothing about the Dalai Lama, about Buddhism - their show was a surface view of a man who doesn't claim to be anything other than a simple monk. And when you meet the guy (or film him as I have) you see that to be the case. It's really a shame they wasted their energy on that show. great magicians, lousy documentarians.

From my own research it appears genuinely true that the priests were a exalted social class who exploited the common peasants. Next time you have the opportunity to talk w/the Dalai Lama ask him about the quality of life of the common Tibetan and get back to me.

Or try going to Bhutan, where culturally it still is as Tibet was. The government there tries to promote GDH (Gross Domestic Happiness) instead of GDP. Look up the article on Bhutan on the 60 Minutes website.

Deying Drolma (Dalai Lama's grandniece) said her family still keeps in touch with a brother of the Dalai Lama who stay in Hong Kong and her father even visited Dalai in India in 1989 and 1993. "Dalai Lama left his hometown Qinghai (northwest China) when he was 5 and returned once at the age of 18" she said. "Old people tend to miss their hometown. I wish he can come back to visit."

Dalai Lama's grandniece Deying Drolma had now joined the CCP. Her grandmom is Khyi Losel, cousin of the Dalai Lama who refused to join Dalai in his fled to India. Deying Drolma joined the PLA nurse soldier in 1993. When Deying Drolma was young, she saw PLA doctors who traveled a lot and underwent great difficulties to relieve herdsmen in Tibet from diseases, she was impressed by them and decided to join the PLA soldier since then.
