I find it ridiculous that wise words like these were forgotton in the decision to cut the art grants. Especially by Harper, considering it's written on our own canadian MONEY!
Too bad the "average joes" don't realize this is about the Children's Festival, their kids' dance classes, and other things that really DO matter to them.
In Quebec, we too feel the sting of the Harper government's cutbacks to the arts. It's time to unite the left to defeat the minority that governs this country like an extension of the Republican US of A.
So true and so sad. While we support looser companies like GM and bail out the big greedy corps, arts and culture are considered unimportant. Thanks David for bringing the issue up... Cheers Peter
