We must separate majoritarianism from democracy.
Majoritarianism, the 51% rule, appears everywhere... in business, communism, islamic republics, parliaments and direct democracies.
Democracy is just rule of the people. People can choose majoritarianism, just like a parliament... but neither have to.
It is important, because majoritarianism will destroy ANY system. It will divide a parliament into two groups. It will divide a board of directors into two groups... and the people. Divided.
