  • Knock on wood.... wait six months...

  • DSG RULES

  • @vwsicko I agree

  • i will probably end up doing that! how much does everything cost total? Oh, i also went to the vw dealership unit monday and they tried to tell me i dont have the dsg! So i didnt end up getting the mechatronics replaced, they told me i should be fine but im not satisfied.

  • @Nebraskahusker23 That's strange? What year is yours? You may have one before 2006? Does your shifter say DSG on the top of it? It is worth the cost to get APR... just wait until they do a twice a year sale... they will give you the ECU upgrade for about $599 but also allow you to upgrade to a fully loaded ECU for the cost of what only 1 extra program usually costs $149?! And you'll get: Security Lockout, 91, 93, & 100 octane, Anti-Theft, Throttle body alignment, and Fault code erase.

  • @gtiman67 I have a 2007 and yes it's a DSG. I don't know what the people at Volkswagen were seeing, but it's 100% a DSG and I thought that my car would have had the recalled mechatronics unit but I guess not? And are all those programs worth having?

  • @Nebraskahusker23 yes transmission should be under warranty still until 100,000 miles or 10 years. Yes the programs are all very useful and great to have.

  • So if I'm going in to get my oil changed, brake light put in and a few other things should I have them do the Mechatronic unit too? I haven't had any trouble with the one in the car right now, but since it's been recalled should I just have it done now?

  • @Nebraskahusker23 Yes! Your dealership will make you aware of any recalls when you go in for service (and this is a big one), they will most likely have to order one in for you and you will have to come back. They will give you a rental car for the day... it only takes about 4-6 hours. Yes have it done your GTI will appreciate it!

  • @gtiman67 I'll be sure to have it done! Thanks for the reply! By the way, your GTI is awesome. Mine is just stock for now :(. May be Stage 1 this summer!

  • @Nebraskahusker23 definetly... Go for Stage 2 fully loaded APR ECU upgrade. All you need is a FORGE Dv, Cold Air Intake, and lose your stock downpipe for a test pipe, or High flow cat Dp. STAGE 2 is 270bhp 323btq!

  • this is why you should have gotten a manual. silly dsg's, mods are for manuals

  • No more NoTLD colours plz :)

  • trippy colors going on.

  • @silvercoke yes!
