The single greatest soca rhythm maker ever...this man is incomparable in his ability to produce music that makes you want to dance...Winston Bailey...the one and only SHADOW...live on brother!
noirosa..no disrespect but Blakie, while a good kaisoman is not in the league of Shadow, Sparrow, Kitchener, Baron and Shorty . I dont rate Calypso Rose or David Rudder either in that bracket. I think Sugar Aloes is a fraud!
Oh gosh, watch me getting down, play soca boy, play soca, oh gosh as sweating, watch meh waist go boy, ah tyad, ah feeling de heat, listen to the instruments, beat that drum till yuh bruk up the drum sticks, leh meh go back to the dancing ting boy. Music!!!!
There are three towering geniuses of modern socalypso - Sparrow, Shadow, Kitchener (RIP). I have traveled the world, accumulated all manner of degrees and positions in life, yet when I hear Shadow I recognise true genius. He is our Great Strange One, Surrealist, Seer, Joker, Philosopher, Poet, Madman, Muse..
Thanks for the observation, the song came out for Carnival 2005, Shadow decided to put it out as a single a way of protesting the issue of piracy with his music, apart from bringing to attention "the mindset of the youth and the carnival" its also a call for criminals on judgment day as Shadow says "what do you tell St. Peter when your evil days are over and he ask for your credentials you go tell him criminal." It's a song that carries a message that is relevant in these times.
ya'll ain't listening. not sure when he sung this but from what I hear the mindet of the yout is canival all year and not seriousness. Is this true?? Hope not
