he was 8 months old when his eyes were removed due to cancer and replaced with glass eyes. absolutely incredible that he can even play let alone be one of the best ever, wish i could've seen him live....RIP Mr. Healey
There's no great blues guitarists left I thought there was hope with Johnny Lang but where is he I guess well just hafta wait and see how this Quinn Sullivan kid does good luck kid the future of blues is in ur hands don't eff it up
That's just inhuman... How the he'll does anyone, blind or not, pull something so awesome off!? I aspire to play with that speed, skill and class. 1000/10
I was also born in Toronto. Canada has many great musicians and bands, the world has only really seem a glimpse of us I think. So many great bands are from America and England and the few that are from Canada rock hard!
@ontariobuds Saw Jeff here in England 4 times in the 90's. When he stopped coming I always vowed when I retired I would travel to your fair city to see him. Sadly I will never get the chance, but I promise I will come one day to pay homage.
Chrook, I have always said this!!!!!! The rhythm section are pub musicians at best. Check out him playing with Marcus Miller, Omar Hakim, Jools Holland, And Dr John! He is the best on that video.
Man, who needs eyes when ya got the music pulsing through ya veins?!? Jeff, you came, you fu*ckin rocked and you left too soon. God rest your soul in rock'nroll heaven, forever n ever more!!!!
More feel than Clapton, More tone than Eric Johnson, More emotion than Hendrix, More soul than SRV. AND he was BLIND. Hands down best electric guitar player that ever lived. Wicked post. Always loved this song.
That guy could play like he was out of this world! Can't express enough gratitude to him for being a huge inspiration and a hell of a guitar shredder!
mindblowing!!! Slays the soul! One of the best guitar players who ever crossed the Earth...simply can't describe the FEEL...and with Jeff it was PURE FEEL...overwhelming...
wow...i bought this his album in 1990 @ 15 or so when I was first having guitar lessons....so long ago now..he was just incredible!!! Bless you Jeff and wherever u are now, I bet u can see!!! Amazing man:-)
@angusyounghero No he's not in the R& R Hall. Shame too. they let faggots like Prince in with all the smoke and lights, but real music like this they tend to ignore because he didn't' sell a bajillion records. he single-handedly beats Clapton and Beck on guitar. His music was real and it still lives on. maybe some day the R&R Hall will open its eyes. I kinda doubt it though. It's all politics.
@angusyounghero i heard this song for the first time on the radio tonight, and i was sold.... i heard while i was working and i was like sold... WTF who is this guy??... I had heard of his name but didnt really know him, and i just found out he was blind... This guy is awesome he deserves a medal for this or something or at least in the hall of fame
RIP Jeff u alwayz rocks the socks off anyone who heard u!!! My guitar teacher many years ago turned me on to your music and holy heck you play like a man possessed...alwayz been a fan since 1990... u rock on buddy and don't eva stop cos I plan to be seein u in the next life xxx
Ever since he performed on the radio for Countdown Cafe in the Netherlands, I was amazed by the vitosity. Though he playes here very well, in my opinion it doesn't beat the Countdown Cafe performance. As a matter of fact I have not heard that ever again.
guitar mag doesnt know what the hell they are talking about. he is one of the greats regardless. his contemporaries knew he was good. anyone with half an ear for good music would not deny him an awesome guitar player.
I saw this live in german TV! Jeff was the first guitarplayer of my genration who touched me. He was different to all the other guys, being hip at that time. He was a musician and not a poser. Because of that, his music will survive. I really miss him!
ive beeen drinkin all nite n listinin to everyone from clapton to srv gto keith emerson ansd no body rips like this fuckin blind bastard,

Me: Wow, is that guy really blind?
Dad: Yes, My Chemical Romance could learn something of that.
Me: Yes indeed. (Thinks: But still i like My Chemical Romance)
Dad: Do you need something, a pet rat or so?
Me: Yes but i do think he is good.

It's tough to capture Jeff, and this doesn't really do him justice, but it's still pretty incredible, and it does bring back memories.
I saw him the first time at the Misty Moon in Halifax on this tour. Would love to see footage, it was shot for MuchMusic.
