  • @vertigoflow According to the film, this car was driverless.

  • This is what happens when gas is $3.50 a gallon and not $1.00

  • Great movie!

  • awesome killing machine.

  • the car is officialy on netflix for instantly watch ftw

  • that always was one ugly car!

  • @RFKFANTS67 I KNOW! finally someone agrees.

  • What evil force drives The Car? Ummm....Exxon/Mobil/Gulf & Shell? Wont you please go straight to hell!

(MAD magazine ~1979, all rights reserved).

  • you know how i would think Christine and The Car would meet

The Car: *doing a dounut trick-spining round and round in one place*

    *Christine drives by*

    *The Car stop spining*

Love At First Sight The Car and Christine= Boyfriend and Girlfriend or Bro and Sis.

  • it could be a decepticon car.

  • ELLO GOVNER

  • lol

  • I wish someone would load the car i remeber seeing this in theatres back in may of 1977,it had one scary part that made you jump, and it had kyle richards of "Halloween".

  • When I was a little boy this movie came on tv. This mvie, Crash!, Duel and that one story from Nightmares about the demonic pick-up truck. I have a thing for movies about killer cars for some reason.

  • hhhhhhaa this is shorta like Ello Govnor on Regular Show hhhhaaa.

  • I member thiis .....it was the shyt...now im 40 and I still think about this movie..haaaa..lol...i luv it- that lincoln waz tuff, no?

  • "ELLO GOV'NOR!"

  • Puhhh puh puh puhhhhhhh!!!!

  • Combine Christine's beautiful styling with the engine noise of this thing, and you have automotive perfection.

  • christine ruled, must of seen that 100 times by now but this never even once for some reason. and after all good I heard I must see it

  • I saw this as a teenager with a group of friends at a drive-in movie theater when it first came out & the night we saw it, some moron (it's hysterical now) started driving around the lot like the demon car in the film, laying on his horn, spinning out & sending gravel spraying into the air. We saw the manager & a group of employees chasing around after it. The police got called in, but by that point the fool had flown out the exit, disappearing into the night. Most amusing to reminisce over.

  • Nothing.......can stop...THE CAR!!!

    only a spike strip!

  • someone call Sam and Dean. I'm worried this beast might kill the beloved Impala.

  • Isn't there a sequel to this film?

  • DAMMM omg i saw this movie in the late 80's when i was little. but i dont really remember it all. is there a second version of this?

  • I remember seeing this on tv way back in 1977 (I was 8 years old) at a friends apartment. After it aired that night, I had to go home. I lived in another neighborhood and had to take the bus. After the bus left me off at my stop, I still had to walk a couple blocks to my place. As I walked down the sidewalk, I warily eyed the cars parked in the street, scared to death that one of them just might jump up out of the curb and chase me (I was a coward)! Thankfully I lived on a 2nd floor apartment!

  • No way to stop the car? How about a wrecking ball?

  • @galloway6204 watch the movie and see what a wrecking ball does to it......

  • Stephen King said he was inspired to write this movie Christine.

  • What Evil Force.... Rides.... your dads cock?

  • i love that horn

  • If someone want to remake this, They should get the 1996 Cadillac Fleetwood or 1990 Mercedes-Benz S-Class to be the killer car.

  • chirstines` dad had his own movie? wow.

  • Christine was better!

  • check out which guy is in the production team.......

  • I wish I could find this movie somewhere. It's one of the few good memories I have with my dad.

  • I like download this movie, pls send me the link if you find it.

  • tööötötötööö

  • This movie came out in 1977 i saw it when i was a kid all you yungstas ,its probably not for you, though christine bit off of this relying on youngsterism to not catch it, do the math on the years: this was the original badd ass devil car yungginnz

  • I Heard A Heavy Rumor But Not Confirm Yet.....That This Movie Would Be A Remake And James Brolin Son : Josh Would Be The Star On It....This Is ONLY A Rumor

  • @MrTESLA05 yes i've heard that too. i hope they do. it was a great film

  • This Movie Was Inspiration for Christine....Both Are Diferent But Great Movies

  • I always thought this car was very sexy.

  • This was on a list of Jaws ripoffs.

  • I thought evil would have driven something far sexier like a nice GTO or something

  • Poor car....thing's so angry 'cause it needs a woman to sooth the savage beast within! Should have met up with Christine. Could you imagine that? The Car and Christine see each other and "Let's Get It On" starts playing. Talk about your rear-ending!

  • @MattHatter what about the bastard love child that would result!!!!

  • @MattHatter LOL now that would be something to see

  • @MattHatter wow lol

  • @MattHatter Man i cant agree more ;))))

  • Definitely inspired by Spielberg's "Duel" from 1971, where the grill of the car acts like an evil "face" of sorts and you never see the driver, making the machine a monster. I used to be haunted by nighmares of cars chasing me with no drivers when I was a young kid. But I never saw this movie back then. Guess I'm gonna have to now!

  • The Car vs. Christine...who would win?

  • @maxpowers518 Christine

  • "I think I hear the engine of that car. It's around here somewhere I--wait I'm scared! I promise I won't go out. Tell me what to do, baby. I-I--AHHHHH!!!"

    ROTFL!!!

I've got to see this movie, it looks both scary and funny at the same time! XD

  • that was ridiculous!!

  • I have this flick. Pretty wild

  • What's the model of the car in the movie?

  • @TrustSRB I found that this is a '71 Lincoln Mark 3 re-structured.

  • lol stupid car. rocket launcher > evil car (> as in greater than in math)

  • This is where Futurama got the idea of the Vampire Car.

  • "The Car he's in here!" lmao

  • i like how the car looks like a face

  • they should use better acting

  • For a movie out of 1977 it was awesome and still is. Watched this movie when I was just a kid and still get a kick out of it. I think some people are thinking about it too much. The car is driven by Satan or a really powerful demon so of course it won't run out of gas, or get damaged, and can do other feats that a regular car can't do. How is this different from many of the dorky comic book movies put out now-a-days? I had more laughs watching the fast and the furious.

  • Think of the sequel possibilities. "The Station Wagon". "The Flatbed Pickup" "The Moped"

  • @bzzzzap the lowrider.

  • lmao@ 1:53!!!

  • now thats a movie monster!

  • If I remember rightly there was an image of the devil in the smoke when the car is eventually destroyed.

  • I can't believe this isn't a comedy. Adults got together and said "We'll make an awesome horror movie about a car that drives itself! And never runs out of gas." Unbelievable.

  • why the hell would Satan make a car that has to get gas refills? And this movie would be pointless if there was a driver other then a demon I mean comon..

  • So who was the driver? I search and it keeps saying.."here, a final confrontation settles the score and reveals the driver's frightening identity in a cloud of smoke."

Anybody know who it is? or is the frightening bit the fact that it doesn't have driver?

  • ill tell u it was possessed by the devil

  • it was possessed by either Satan himself or an unholy demon of some sort

  • @jnoble11

Or it's just an early version of something KARR! [From Knight Rider]

Well, The Car was in fact in an episode of KR, "Trust Doesn't Rust". In the scene where KARR is supposed to be seen falling down a cliff, It is in fact a customized coupe - The Car - that falls down. Lol!

  • the indian woman was the girl in "outlaw josey wales" I actually sat in the car when they were selling it at universal studios. The car had only a plastic seat bolted to the floor and a car battery. very light. that was why the car could spin and move so fast. we reached under the passenger door and felt a coat hanger and tug on it and the door opened. very freaky...lol, the window tint was an orange color. I wonder where that car is now?

  • When I saw the movie I thought that "The Car" must be a tank in carform :-) !

  • This was the golden era when movies made for TV were better that the garbage you hi-fi you have today. You had better drama and MUCH better acting. This was a true 70's classic! Loved it!

  • the engine of this car sounds oddly familiar; flash forward five years to the original Knight Rider - in "Trust Doesn't Rust," where K.A.R.R. first appeared, they borrowed footage from this movie to show "K.A.R.R." driving off the cliff at the end--- and K.A.R.R.'s engine also sounds like the engine of this car. And, like this car, K.A.R.R. was evil...

  • My old time car movie favorites was this one, another oldie with a white 70's challenger(at the end the car crash and the guy driving it die),Mad Max,and one that a young man die at the begining and apear with a black sport futuristic car(or he transform in to a car?),I think was a early 80's movie.Oh and Canonball Run.

  • It is "Interceptor" with Charlie Sheen. ;) He comes back to take Revenge with this black car and transforms into three flying orbs.

  • Thanks for the info,I believe the movie's name is The Wraith, and the car was a Dodge concept or prototype name Interceptor. And yess Charlie Sheen was the mysterious teen.

  • Yep, Charlie Sheen in The Wraith. It was a Dodge concept car, and gave the car to his brother at the end. The other movie with the white Challenger was Vanishing Point with Viggo Mortesson. He was driving X-country to see his wife in the hospital, chased by police, drives into a roadblock and presumed dead.

  • Vanishing Point,that's the movie,a great classic.This movie,Mad Max,and The Wraith,have the escence of a true renegade,and reflect the true meaning of justice.But that's my opinion.Thanks for the info.

  • I didn't know Vanishing Point had a newer version--remake--the first one had a race car driver/ Army man racing the clock on a bet.

  • good movie seen this on scifi channel in 2006!

  • Destrucion Ritual (In part)

"BEHOLD! The mighty vooices of my vengeance smash the stillness of the air and stand as monoliths of wrath upon the plain of writhing serpents I AM BECOME AS A MONSTEROUS MACHINE OF ANNIHILATION to the festering fragments of the body of him who has tormented me. I call upon the messangers of doom to slash with grim delight this victim I have chosen... .. O Great Brothers of the Night, Thou who makest my place of comfort, who RIDETH OUT UPON THE HOT WINDS OF HELL..."

  • Danny Trejo (Machete) is the driver!!!

  • This movie has a quotation by Anton LaVey saying:

"I am become as a monsterous machine of annihilation ..."

at the very beginning of the film.

  • No it does not! I mean, yes, it has a quotation, but not the one you posted. The quote goes something like..."THE WINDS OF HELL, BROTHERS WILL RIDE, ect., ect. Something like that.

  • Ahhh..but it does. I had the Church of Satan's mimeographed newsletter called THE CLOVEN HOOF. In it, there was a recommendation to go an view this movie. And I did. When I saw it, I immidiately recognized the quotation from the Destruction Ritual in The Satanic Bible by Anton Szandor LaVey. And yes, it did say: "I am become as a monsterous machine of annihilation." Anyone viewing this movie back then would concurr. Perhaps what you have seen was edited or censored, but I know what I saw.

  • A remake of this movie could be nice!

  • This movie scared the hell out of me when it was out!! Granted, I was only 9 or 10 by the time it came to tv but I remember being terrified at night that an evil car was gonna crash through my window!!! I need to see this again!!

  • me too my friend. Totally freaked me out and I had to turn it off right after it killed the bikers.

  • Love this movie...Does anyone have any idea how i can buy it.

  • Comment removed

  • This is just hilarious. I think it actually scared me when I was 10 when it came out, but seeing it recently I couldn't stop giggling. Really like the red filter shots from inside the car through the windshield.

I guess Satan wears red tinted sunglasses?

Can anyone explain what it is about Lincolns (Animal House "Deathcar", JFK's XP800, Sonny Corleone's '41 Continental) and this that make them so synonymous with death and being evil?

  • I just got the novel of "THE CAR" today on my birthday (1/13/7*).

  • the novel isn't too good. the dialog is terrible and it seemed like it was written by a 12 year old. and the ending is bad.

  • It's a were-car!!!!!

  • In the 70's there was a glut of these Satanic Devil films but this one was by far the best. I could never figure out way Satan would bother to take the form of a car and harass a small town in the south west. I guess that's what he does when he is bored. It would be great to see a sequel all these years later with James Brolin.

  • I remember all those devil movies too and your right, this was the best one by far. Do remember that one with Peter Fonda called Race With The Devil? That would be a good one to remake as well.

  • @Kodos1 That's because 'The devil went down to Georgia, 'cause he was in a bind and he was way behind and he was willin' to make a deal'

  • un film fain

  • Haven't seen this movie since like 1987.

  • I love the sound that The Car made when it kill someone

  • Hard movie to find nowadays, but it's definitely worth the trouble of finding it. One of the best movies ever.

  • i agree with you The Car is one of the best motion pictures ever

  • Oui,c'est sympa.

  • me encanta este film...es buenisimo.

  • Love that scene close to the end of the trailer with the lady on the phone and it's lights in the distance, coming right at her. Freaky!

  • Classic, used to watch this film when i was a kid.

  • Does this movie trailer remind you of watching Duel? Remember the scenes of the whole entire movie, that Dennis Weaver was driving his red car? Remember seeing the big gray tractor trailer truck chasing and terriorizing him? Man, those were the good ol'days!

  • Bad evil car. Sweet I'm gonna see this movie.

  • looks very funny.

  • This is a really badass machine!!!

    BEST MOVIE EVER!!!

  • Yeah I know! I forgot it looked so cool! LOL
