Hola purplesquidget, Please feel free to use any of the flamenco videos on my site for your project. Did you visit the Museo Flamenco in Sevilla? They have wonderful photos and video resources. Please let me know when your project is ready for viewiing. Regards, InPacifica
I saw the show at los gallos (here, shown in this video) in 2010, and they were incredible... my spanish teacher showed a video of flamenco, though it wasnt the best ive seen or heard, it wasnt bad. my entire class started laughing, and were like "they dont actually do that right?" and "the singing is horrible, make them shut up" and "that is so pathetic". it made me so mad, so now im doing a project to show how beautiful it is to those troglodytes!
I don't believe that is a dying art dancing. Only those people who have shot sight will see that way. However before it was excluseve for gypsies; nowadays anyone can take lesson and be as good as ane "good gypsy dancer. If you think is dying why don't you come to the new world all over Latin America and extending it to Unitates states and I'm living in Canada and yes there's Flamenco schools and proffesional dancer of Flamenco art. So may be is dying around your house in Adalusia Spain.
@francesca1932 unfortunately it is a dying art...still surviving though. im andalusian and i have always been living here and never learnt.. nor my friends. People dont seem to be that interested now and flamenco is more a more left for professionals and shows while sevillanas just for some special days. It is more an image now...
@vmurq well, than you have to do everything to rediscover this old traditions. Take example from the south italian people. Tarantella was dead, now they youth people rediscovered this dance and now it's played everywhere, even on wedding partys.
i know this place! it is a tablao in Sevilha in a neighboorhood named Barrio de Santa Cruz! They are fantastics!!! I just have some pics from them! Nice time!!!!
I have been there as well! Odd enough to find it here since it was many years ago, but then to find another person with the same experience is really surprising. I was there 20 years ago. The dancing was better back then. I tried to film, but they would not allow it. Esso!
