@l3aIIin23 - You can play PC games with a PS3 controller. Search MotionJoy - great application. You cannot connect a PS3 into the laptop - It is not an HDMI in.

@TeamCRBNStudios I don't own one of these (yet) but i saw on another video that you have to open a program already installed called alienFX or something like that. It should have all the light customisations in there.

@robinvpersie133 @ I use FRAPS to record video straight to the hard drive. Its a bit processor hungry so slightly reduces the frame rates but I have now installed a Corsair 250gb Force 3 SSD. I found a guide to remove the DVD drive and replace it with the original 750gb HD so I now have the SSD for running the OS and demanding games like BF3 and the HD from everything else, runs brilliantly. Not sure about the Alien on the lid, it’s always lit up on mine.

with the default m14x with the i5 processor, would i be able torun swtor or sc 2 pretty well? do you know?

@grumpybritishguy I should imagine you would have no problems, SWTOR gives me average 90-100fps in most areas so the i5 should cope easily, like most MMO’s the game client is designed to run on as many machines as possible from low spec to high. I would guess BF3 etc should be fine on medium settings. I have just posted a BF3 video on the M14x.

I've got a Dell XPS 17" with almost the exact settings as this. Should I get an Alienware: I want something more portable since I'm going travelling - don't wnat to lug around my 17 incher..

@lollalot The M14x will have a smaller desktop footprint but it’s fairly thick and weighty, having said that I travel loads with work and take it everywhere and find it a good compromise for size and power.

@TheVheren Erm yeah... thing is its tricky finding a 240v power supply and room to set up a tower and monitor on my two hour daily train commute so I can play Skyrim to pass the time.

@nuridino Yes GTA runs no problem with settings maxed, I bought the full bundle in the Steam Sale and it flies along, I even installed all the texture mods and its still runes nicely.

@1966pikupstix well personally i can use the ram. I have google chrome, a teamspeak (ventrilo, skype) and CrisisX on full graphics. even music playing in the background. Thats just me, so i upgrade the ram.

@1966pikupstix When your running Windows 7 64bit Ultimate recording 60fps HD video and audio using Fraps whilst playing the 64bit client of Battlefield 3 8gb instead of 4gb makes all the difference. I do a lot of video editing, 8gb makes a lot of difference, granted if your running 32bit clients it’s a bit of a waste.
