Not sure about the strategy here, but I would have put the starbase close to the planet, and left a small force to defend it, likewise its easy to just demolish research labs, and focus purely on military or civics as needed (if you are low on planets). But its more fun to have most of your fleet harassing enemy planets, and coming back to defend your planets when you need to. xD

if im watching correctly the only planet you have left is your home-world. pretty bad luck hopefully one of your fleeing ships could maybe stumble upon a mysterious ring that could destroy the enemy saving your species.

dude A, u should've had fully upped starbase with self destruct B, for the gauss plat forms b4 the fight was even gonna happen u should've gotten meson bolt cannons and the missile pods for the causs cannons, thatd make them even more powerful. starbase and shit should have every upgrade... but the selfdestruct would've wiped out most of his fleet... cause AI are stupid

I dont know if you know, but if you lose a civilian or military research station your research level drops and any bonuses within that are nulled. I had maybe one of each left, so my turrets and star base were upgraded, but were not using the abilities because of the lack of stations.

not sure what you mean by hide, you can run around the gravity well and around the planet to make it more difficult for them to attack you, or just jump out

@jaspertheking4life Im guessing you're right. A Vasari Fleet is pretty powerful without proper defence. Vasari and TEC are both my strong points. I never really understood Advent. Other than that, you start climbing the Vasari tree, and eventually you have one of the strongest fleets in the galaxy.

well advent is my strong point, they have powerfull ships and there history intrests me the most, cause it's like Homeworld, they are exiled to a desert plannet to rot for all of there generations, but they rose up again, I think Advent vs Vasari would be an epic battle, expecialy the Advent Progenitor mothership vs the vasari city ships

Im playing a game like this, all my 8 caps are lv 6+, i've got the strongest fleet (2 combined fully upgraded unfair ai fleets vs my fleet and defence kick their asses, i mean, it like 20 min on my info, i went from 100 frigates distroyed to 600, it was frickin epic, i only lost 2 ships) and im dwon to my klast planet. Epic defences though.

Yes - insofar as upgrading your defences - a new tree called "defence" upgrades the turrets, the star bases and protection of your planets.
