In "91 I produced a contest called Drummer's Showdown. Other talent contests had failed due to poor admin. I needed to be sure I had the best judges. I enlisted both Brian McLeod who was a fine drummer and his drummer Bernie Aubin (the backbeat of the Headpins) among the many judges. 3 episodes are up on UTube. Brian was very humble and gracious. He was in the treatment stage so he asked me not to represent him on camera. His support for Drummer's Showdown was a thrill. He's missed by Vancouver.
He wrote the song MY GIRL about me. Felt bad for decades for leaving BC without saying goodbye. He was sure upset with me when he did run into me in 83 backstage at a Toronto and Tom Cochrain concert. I was 3 months pregnant with Downchild Blues Band keyboard player's child. He told me about the song. I took him home and he signed my album cover and we both cried while he made me listen to the depth of the song. I do miss you Brian, I'm so sorry!

this guy is so talented, more than what a lot of people know, he played drums, keyboards, and guitar, and produced and wrote songs, the first that i recall to have a rack system for drums, look at the back of chilliwack opus album pics,

Nice interview!! Wicked guitar player who really influenced me. He actually inspired me to learn guitar in '84. Particularly his electrifying sounds with Headpins!
AGRRED! By the way therry, YOU heard Headpins on Swedish radio, too? So did *I*, m8! Small world, eh? ("Mine All Mine") from "Line Of Fire" (Back in 1986)
First time I heard Headpins was on Swedish radio. I was almost blown off my chair. I ran to the record store the day after. Got cd`s now ofcause and still playing them. The world lost a fantastic musican the 25 of april in 1992. Thanx Mosteasterly.

I watched Brian play for the Headpins in Vancouver at Rohans Rockpile on 4th Avenue.
If I remember right it was 1978.
When I saw Brian play that day I was in absolute awe! I had seen the best-of-the-best
play live in Vancouver at the Coliseum and I saw/heard Brian do things on an electric
guitar I had never seen done before!

By the way, that's Christopher Ward interviewing him, no slouch in his own right, having written a number one song Black Velvet for Alanah Myles
