I've heard that clean song before. What is it?? I mean it's pretty basic and so is the chord progression but I've heard that exact song before. (Maybe I've seen this video before?)
I have a peavey vypyr which i like a lot. It is a modelling amp and it has almost the same kinda dynamic than all the tube amps. It has tho horrible clean sounds (all of them) There is no high end to them at all. But i think its because of the speaker, not the amp itself.
This amp sounds amazing! Could you tell me the differences between this one and the LC30--112??? (I mean sonically.) I know they have the same tubes, wattage, etc. But, how do they sound different? Which would you consider more similar to the Vox AC15/ AC30?
Rather than this videos he should just do lessons this guys playing is SOOOO amazing. Man i've never heard ONE note...that made me said: Hole E She It...*rewind* ONE NOTE
I have a VC30. just had trouble with the channel switch but other than that all you say in the review is correct. It is a great amp and the price is right as it does compare to the equivalent Fender which is worth much more.
Laney makes some real awesome amps, Just coz of some fucking noobs who think that they know everything and think costlier is better.....Laney gets ignored and is wayyyyy underrated for what it is.......Love the tone for a super decent price.......
Wonderful review. My main amp is a VC30 212 and no matter what other amps I play, the Laney always remains the one that all others are judged in light of.
from like 3:15 on he has his signature casswell ass kicking playing going on. THis guy sounds so good, and I think he just helped me buy my newest addition to my tube amp family. I love these tones here
I've had 2 of these, never had any problems and they are a great amp. I always hanker after something more boutique but run out of money, sell the expensive amp and come back to Laney.
But when you can get something this good for £350 may as well just accept it's all you need!
ive just bought this amp after reading some reviews the only thing that lets it down is the crappy speaker i changed mine to a vintage 30 so much more tone and the drive was a bit limted so i use a blackstar distx really brings this thing to life .
My personal suggestion is let your ears choose for you. I don't believe the Vox has an effects loop or is channel footswitchable. The Vox does have tremelo and reverb that is footswitchable. The Vox's are mostly made in China as well, the back of the laney said made in the UK. I don't know if any of this helps your decision just thought I'd throw out a few things I noticed.
I would suggest to other people to also concentrate on dynamics of the amp they are demoing. Also if you record it with a cheap mic or a cell phone....dont even bother posting.
Douchebag, the comment might be silly or not, depending on context. It's a friggin' youtube video, so the context is implied by the content. Idiot. Not EVERY person or even every guitar player is at the center of the valve trend (and it is a trend, since not long ago the market was nothing compared to now).
Great review ! Your'e the first guy ive seen who understands the difference between hearing the sound of the guitar as opposed to the sound of the amp. Brill !
Does anyone know if you can mod this amp to switch between two output valves and four output valve to reduce volume but keep the same tone. I have the Laney VC-30 212
I just baught the vc30 210 on ebay (only because I got it for less than 400.00) and have`nt yet tried it out with my stratocaster.
I play with a fender hot rod deluxe currently and love the tone (other than the muddy overdrive which I replace with a pedal),I play in blues rock cover band doing songs like- hey joe, born on the bayou, good day for the blues, and other blues rock numbers,in your opinion will I find an occasional use for this amp or will it become a practice amp? -thanks for the demo.
A used vc30 its a third the price of an ac30 and its more versatile. If you upgrade the stock speakers to greenbacks or vintage 30`s its as good as an ac30
Today i went to buy it , and they gave me one of them whit some fucked up valvs...im fuckin angry.

This guy is a friend of mine. Great player and a fantastic knowledge of all things guitar.
The guitar he is using is a 1989 valley arts custom pro made especially for him by mike maguire at the original factory which burnt down in 1992.
From what i gather, the originals are far better than the ones that are made now.Not to say the new ones are bad, just the original ones are better.
The pickups in this one are emgs. The best pickups bar none.
