The singer is Jason McMaster form the 80's band Dangerous Toys, he now has a band Broken Teeth. They play alot in the Austin and San Antonio texas area.. Sad Wings is his cover band saw them they are great.
The singer looks like Halford, acts like Halford, and sounds like Halford. I saw these guys last week for the first time, and they were incredible. I lost my voice singing along with all my favorite Priest songs. They played all old shit too =) These guys are the best thing you can see without actually seeing Judas Priest. If you're a fan, and you see this band playing, GO!
Oh yes. I'm familiar with Jason McMaster (I'm from South Texas), though I'm more familiar with Watchtower than I am with Dangerous Toys. I hope I get a chance to see these guys again.
They sound OK for a metal band and they obviously know the material well. I just honestly question the motivation behind these "tribute bands" though. To spend so much time dedicated to copying the music, look and stage presence of another internationally famous group to me just kind of shows a lack of originality or imagination and smacks of silly adolescent hero worship. Hey look, if these guys are having fun and getting the chicks then great. I just don't take tribute bands very seriously.
Just some facts & info on the band :Jason McMaster-Vocals from Dangerous toys,Watchtower & currently Broken Teeth, Jason Frankhouser-Guitars,Stuart Laurence-guitars and also is in IGNITOR,Stoney Grantham- Bass who also plays in DRIFTER ( Maiden Tribute band) and is the bassist for the UK's Prog. Power Metal band SHADOWKEEPand frequents between the US for gigs and recordings,Steve Dezman-drums.They are all pros and basically do this for the same reasons that many tribute bands do it for -FUN.
This is the 1st time I have ever seen/heard u guys and i am sooo impressed. This could also be the holy Priest themselves playing. It 's such a great metal song though, isn't it? Clever how Priest rocked up the original Joan Baez version and came up with this.
"The Green Manalishi with the two pronged crown" was originally written and performed by Peter Green of Fleetwood Mac fame. I agree that Sad Wings are an impressive tribute band.
Your guys are incredible. I hav'nt heard a cover band sound so authentic since Motorocker, ACDC. You do priest total justice! and the guy on the V totally rules. you can tell he is a pro. great vocals too, and the best in song selection. i wish i was in texas, i would come and see you, but i'm all the way up on the shore of lake erie. let me know how i can get a hold of a cd of you guys. -tom.
wow cool i did not know that.....right on Jason!

It's Jason McMaster from the late 80's heavy metal band Dangerous Toys, Priest was a huge influence on that band.

You are thinking of "Diamonds and Rust" (Baez)
