  • great stuff !!!

    thank you for posting

  • Charlie Blacklock passed away at the age of 90 on April 17, 2008. Thank you, apfogtown, for posting this video, although I disagree with your statement (which I hope was tongue-in-cheek) that Charlie was a "freak"... I sincerely hope that his down-home kind of music will never be "outlawed" or "forgotten"!

  • My condolences to the family and friends of Charlie Blacklock. Your feeling of loss must be great. A similar feeling must surely be echoed in the hearts of his many admirers. While the pain we share will recede with time, our appreciation of his talent and generosity will continue to expand.

(Thanks for recognizing the satirical nature of my hyperbolic "statement". )

  • Rock on!!

  • Charlie Blacklock is a treasure of American country music. If he is forgotten, it'll be everyone's loss. The saw doesn't need a pickup. You just play near a microphone. I play the saw, with other folk instruments, for kids, and they love it.

  • old school saw playing!

  • You say Charlie is a freak? Mr. Blacklock is considered by many to be the patriarch of the American Musical Saw Movement. Are you the patriarch of anything? By the way, saws can be upgraded and they were. They were upgraded to the theremin which is the first of all electronic musical instruments which can be plugged in, turned up, fuzz toned and whatever else you think qualifies a musical instrument.

  • how can that be done? i mean where to position the pickups. sorry for my bad english
