  • you look like jack nicolsen from the Shining

  • Hey man, what song were you playing after vultures?? Beautiful song!

  • Good player , cool strats! Thanks man

  • Love that strat ! what's the color (blueish).... the emg's sound great in this video... the white one sound very retro .....

  • Two of my favourite styles of guitars! nice comparison, my favourite is the Mayer sig...

  • more bottom end and compressed from the ephiphone... emg strat more versatile..

  • John Mayer for me, sounds sweet.

  • jm strat definitely sounds very nice

  • JM Strat sounded the best...big dippers rule.

  • i like how the epi sounds creamy rather than sharp like the strats

strats are just too bright for my taste

  • I am dreaming of getting a Myer strat....

  • @WarwickDavey Same here, haha.

  • Diezel..... =L....

  • a lot

  • Someone know how many of these Mayer strats that were made?

  • they were mass produced.

  • @LuXguitaR The white ones are limited and are still in production. The only limited ones were the Cypress Mica ( 500 guitars) and the Charcoal Frosty Metallic w/ stripe( 250 guitars). The Shorline gold wasn't limited just discontinued by produced in volume until D/C

  • wow for having al that great equipment u kinda suck

  • Those EMG SAs are amazing.

  • Great sound on all counts. Enjoyed the demo.

  • Heart of Life ^_^, Slow dancing has that john mayer tone. N good stuff man 5 stars in my book

  • What is the song that you are playng at 4:30?

    thanks

  • John Mayer's Slow Dancing in a Burning Room

  • nice amp set up, man

  • The John Mayer Strat has faded so much

  • when i get my lucille i am changing the varitone washer to black, in gold it just is annoying

  • oh my god john mayer used a epi strat i dont want mine anymore now that i think about it

  • No. The Epiphone is the Lucille, The Mayer is a Fender

  • oh i like epiphone and gibsons they're my favorites

  • I have the Same Lucille he has here, and a John Mayer strat, but in Cypress Mica, not white. I like Gibsons too, you have to have both in my opinion. But to me nothing beats a Strat, as far as my playing style goes

  • thats funny i have an epiphone strat and a gibson maestro and a fender vintage bass

  • epiphone strat...ive never seen an epiphone stratocaster...lol..because there isnt one

  • Actually there is one and a tele too. Of course they aren't called strats and teles, but they have the strat and tele shapes but with a "Hockey stick" type headstock. Epiphone made them back in the early 90's/ late 80's. Check google

  • You need to listen to some real john mayer... if you got an Epiphone 335 for blues you'll appreciate what he has to offer...

  • Hi!

I think the JM strat is a very good guitar with a great sound and tone.

IMHO i think you should change the EMGs for a set of Lollars Blackface.

    Those pickups really fly!

    Greets!

  • Nice comparison. I thought the John Mayer sig. strat was the best. Great strat tone, nice and crisp. My second fav was lucille....very warm and defined. I only chose it second because I prefer a strat tone for blues. the strat and lucille are almost like apples and oranges in comparison imo. The emgs sounded sterile as do the humbuckers. I had emgs and switched to blackouts. Great playing! I have subscribed.....5 stars!

  • thank you very much bud. I must say the EMGs single coil sound very good in person. I know what you mean by "Sterile" but these SA single coils sound very nice, maybe the vid didn't capture it, or it's prob. a subjective thing. :)
