@LuXguitaR The white ones are limited and are still in production. The only limited ones were the Cypress Mica ( 500 guitars) and the Charcoal Frosty Metallic w/ stripe( 250 guitars). The Shorline gold wasn't limited just discontinued by produced in volume until D/C
I have the Same Lucille he has here, and a John Mayer strat, but in Cypress Mica, not white. I like Gibsons too, you have to have both in my opinion. But to me nothing beats a Strat, as far as my playing style goes
Actually there is one and a tele too. Of course they aren't called strats and teles, but they have the strat and tele shapes but with a "Hockey stick" type headstock. Epiphone made them back in the early 90's/ late 80's. Check google
Nice comparison. I thought the John Mayer sig. strat was the best. Great strat tone, nice and crisp. My second fav was lucille....very warm and defined. I only chose it second because I prefer a strat tone for blues. the strat and lucille are almost like apples and oranges in comparison imo. The emgs sounded sterile as do the humbuckers. I had emgs and switched to blackouts. Great playing! I have subscribed.....5 stars!
thank you very much bud. I must say the EMGs single coil sound very good in person. I know what you mean by "Sterile" but these SA single coils sound very nice, maybe the vid didn't capture it, or it's prob. a subjective thing. :)
you look like jack nicolsen from the Shining

You need to listen to some real john mayer... if you got an Epiphone 335 for blues you'll appreciate what he has to offer...

Hi!
I think the JM strat is a very good guitar with a great sound and tone.
IMHO i think you should change the EMGs for a set of Lollars Blackface.
Those pickups really fly!
Greets!
