  • It wouldn't have been successful, anyway.

  • thumbs up if you want it finished.

  • @sageofdragons12 He'd be at the base with Arie,Dulcy and the others. Don't worry, I'll leave no stone unturned. The.Freedom Fighters reunite!

  • 1 question only :wheres the rom? just kidding

actually, where is the CLIP from?

  • If you guys debating about making this game real or not, if they do, it should be the next Sonic Chronicles game, an RPG not a platformer. Eggman takes over the planet, Sonic and the gang seperate in some ways(Shadow leaves w/Rouge and Omega,Big leaves, and only Team Sonic,Amy,and Shade stay to combat Eggman . Later they find the Freedom Fighters Sally, Rotor, and Bunnie, team up, and the adventure begins

  • @sonicsaiyan07 What about Antoine? :) He may have been a pussy in the show, but he's an awesome character in the comics. Anyways, I approve of your comment! (Minus Big. I like Big. :D)

  • Remember you morons, saying you hate it cause it's slow, this is an early pitch video/demo that would have been drastically different from a released form. Obviously, the lack of speed is because they didn't have a proper physics engine coded to handle such as of this point. Heck, there's a good chance nothing here is actually being played but some sprites being slid around screen.

  • Just by looking at this I know this game would've sucked because it's so slow I glad it was cancelled

  • It looks okay, but a dark sonic game where you go negative 2 miles an hour with no spin dash...? Spooky world.

  • This game would not have sold well because it's nothing like the other sonic games. Even though satAM was epic, they should stick to shows, not games.

  • im so glad this didnt go ahead. id hate for the games to go in the dark taken too seriously world of satam. dont thumb me down its just my opinion

  • I dont like it, I love it. :D

  • i do not like it .

  • Cool

  • @NatsDitto Not just cool. Way Past Cool!

  • The Weirdest Dopest shit ever. Some of the elements give me Comix Zone vibes.

    Yeah. Picture this game Existing.

  • sonic throw rings? no wonder it got cancelleds

  • Bloodrunsclear

  • now that would have sucked

  • Damn I always dreamed of a Sonic SatAM videogame when I was a kid Bunnie Rabbot was my favorite character I would've loved to play as Her.

  • SOMEONE PLEASE OBTAIN THE ROM AND FINISH CREATING THIS GAME! (or at least from scratch?) (I would, but I fail at programming)

  • first they cancel the show, and then the game? I HATE YOU!

  • @Mr2emerald

    The show was AWESOME!

  • @MrPikmin16 nostalgia critic reviewed satam and the adventures of sonic the hedgehog. you should watch it he hates taosth and loves satam

  • @Sonicsilvermaster You are an evil jerk if you want to hurt Sonic's best friend Chris! He's one of the greatest Sonic characters ever created!

  • download link plz

  • Why didn't they finish this? I WANT this game!

  • This looks fun. I wonder why it wasn't finished?

  • @DayBreakization The game wasn't finished because other developers who looked at the game while it was being worked on, including Naka, didn't give the project any favoritism due to the seemingly slow pace the demo showed. Due to this lack of support for the project, the game was ultimately cancelled before it could be worked on any further, effectively eliminating any potential chances to implement more speed-type elements into it in order to make it a legit Sonic title back during the 1990s.

  • @Genesjss Thank goodness for that. o.o It looked terrible. XD

Like it looked like a totally different game only as Sonic. And the graphic and gameplays just looked boring. But it DID look like it had potential. Seems like they would've at least tried to make another one but better. Then again we got Spinball. XD

  • @Axxidous Yyyyyyup. And I agree, I think it had potential (and I also know the game WOULD have had speed segments implimented, but like I said, the demo of the prototype didn't get favorable feedback :P), which I'm hoping could be explored one day in the future. But then again, that's probably only wishful thinking.

  • @Genesjss Probably. 2 things I thought would be cool and weird is if they made a modern game of SatAM and OVA.

Why? Well first off look at the graphics we have now. To see an awesome CGI cutscene of SatAM... it's like it's SatAM but it feels new. Kinda like when they make a game of an old movie (Back To The Future comes in mind) lol

  • @Axxidous That WOULD be cool. Although I'm wary about that kind of game getting bashed by "fans" and angry reviewers because it'd be based on a SEGA of America version of Sonic. It's not the first time I've seen good Sonic games unfairly bashed by idiots before (Sonic 4, especially).

  • @Genesjss because it's based on a SEGA of America version of Sonic? Wouldn't that be the opposite? Most people bash the SEGA of Japan version. xD

Besides maybe it'd be a different developer? And I'm sure people would like it. They're coming around. Sonic 4 does get bashed but more ppl like it than dislike it. And then there's Sonic Colors. Some ppl bash it too but it's a smaller portion that Colors is seen as a "successful game. I'm sure Generations will be good.

  • @Genesjss

Besides, the first half of the first decade are the classic Sonic games everyone loves. Then the second half had crap like Sonic 3D Blast, Sonic R, Sonic Fighters, Sonic Jam (I don't think they're total crap but still pretty cheat compared to the originals and some ppl bash them) Then at the very end of the decade we get the awsome Sonic Adventure.

Decade 2, awesome games and then bad games and at the end of the decade: Sonic Colors.

Decade 3 starts now. ;D Get the pattern?

  • @Axxidous While I doubt that there will be a garuntee of bad games in the 3rd decade just because the first 2 followed a pattern, I DO agree that the patterns in the previous decade are more or less true. I'm hoping the 3rd decade will surprise us, but I know that's not gonna stop SOME from whining about the current games for whatever reason anyway. If there is ONE cycle I'm certain is going to stick around for a little while, it's the "Sonic Cycle": Sega announces new game, then bashing begins.

  • @Genesjss Eh, I'm not saying it will indefinately follow this pattern. I'm just saying their was a pattern and it's quite possible and worth at least using as a guideline for what to expect. =P I hope by "suprise us" you mean good games all decade rather than starting off bad. But I must say, if we know the outcome of the whole decade then we would have stuck with a really fictional game franchise for 30 years. Now that's sumtin! XD

  • @Genesjss If there's one thing I hate about the Sonic Cycle it's the fact that's it's not necessarily true. The second thing I hate is it was made and considered a cycle before many games had even started doing this, which may subconciously cause fans to not think for themselves and just believe such rubbish automatically. For one, most fans have brought up the Sonic Cycle BEFORE the games came out for the past 3 or 4 years. That alone BREAKS the Cycle. Secondly, I'm NOT always disappointed. lol

  • @Genesjss Actually, let me rephrase that. THE "Sonic Cycle" is false, it's what people ASSUME would happen but actually doesn't. But there IS a Sonic Cycle. It occurs differently. Fans bash the game before it's out and find flaws the more info is released over things that are not important regardless of if there is actually something wrong with the game or if there isn't. The game comes out, a lot of people like it, then over the next 2 and a half years they bash it. =P

  • @Axxidous Actually, the way you put the Sonic Cycle is what I wanted to say originally but I ran out of space to type in my last comment. And you couldn't be more right about the cycle. If the Sonic series is gonna end (God forbid it does), it's gonna be because of those idiots' hypocricy and there ever generating complaints.

  • @Genesjss Yeah. The space limit is why I left like 3 comments. XD lol

But yeah, hypocrites truely. Everything they want is what they complain about anyways. >.< It's not cool! What's worse is they think they're the majority but everytime the "majority" get what they want, suddenly the "minority" because the new majority and complains. Obviously there's more who don't speak up than there are those who do. And those people show that Sonic is more successful than we admit. lol

  • @Axxidous Again, I agree. I'd speak more about why I think the Sonic series is succeeding better than many people and reviewers say, but I ultimately know I'm wasting my time and I'm just setting myself up for more bashing. They don't understand their own faults in their logic, nor do they want to understand. So why bother? They're ruining their own experiences of the series by being so negative and critical over it, instead of actually playing the game and TRY to enjoy it. So screw them :P

  • @Genesjss That, and I probably already know. lol

Meh, it's only the ones afraid to grow up. idk if you noticed, but only after Sonic 4 did a "modern Sonic" design issue come up. And apparently there are even inferior classic traits they prefer over superior modern traits simply because it's classic. lol silly silly. =P

  • @Axxidous Nope, no "modern design" issues ever came up to my knowledge. And what can we do about it? People will be people (or, as I prefer to call them, Nostalgiafags) =P The classics are there for a reason: To play. If you don't like the stuff we get now, then you can always play the older games instead. You can even buy them now on today's consoles via download. If they're smart, they'd just do that instead of constantly complaining about how SEGA "stopped caring" and about every little thing

  • @Genesjss Really? You never heard the "green eyes" complaint or the whining over his hair being too long or him being too skinny and lanky and blah blah? XD Oh well. lol

Yeah. Hmm, this gives me an idea for a video. (Also cuz I hate how ppl seem to think that I must've never played the classics or must be 12 or younger if I like any of the 3D Sonic games when I was actually born in the year of Sonic and was introduced to it as a baby when it first came out. XD)

  • @Axxidous I DID hear all that, I just assumed you knew about it too XD Well, people just like to assume stupid things based on little to no info, so screw the people who do :P And I was born in 1992, the year Sonic 2 came out, and I was probably introduced to the series breifly as young as possibly 3 years old. However, I didn't show any real interest in the series (to my knowledge) until my Freshman year in High School when I bought Sonic Rush for the DS.

  • @Genesjss So you were introduced to Sonic 4 years into the series. lol

    And wow. lol

I was introduced to the original Sonic games as like a todler and payed Sonic 2 mostly. Sonic 2 is my favorite Sonic game and now SA2 is my second fav. I always find it funny when ppl say Sonic games are too easy now. I beat Sonic 2 when I was 4. >w> lol That's why ppl who aren't Sonic fans think I'm a Sonic nerd cuz I know lots about it but it's really just experience.

  • @Genesjss At the same time "Actual Sonic fans" consider me "not a true Sonic fan" (As if there's some sort of honor attached to being a groupy xD). I don't have all the toys and comics and I don't even know much about the comics. And tho I have a lot of Sonic games, I usually only have the mainstream games. I don't have any of the handhelds or StoryBook series or game gear games and I only have the first Sonic Riders. XD

I like Sonic but I'm not obsessed. I just talk a lot is all. XP

  • @Axxidous I'd talk more with people about the Sonic series if I could, but for some reason it's hard to find people who are very open-minded and respectful about another person's opinions. And I wouldn't worry about it, the "true Sonic fans" you're referring to are very superficial and they wouldn't respect you if you didn't share their own shallow, biased views even if you payed them. And I'd probably be called a fanboy by them because I consider myself a fully Universal Sonic fan XD

  • @Genesjss lol Probably. Aww man. Now I wanna pretend to be a "true Sonic fan" so someone will offer to pay me to accept them. It's the perfect crime! XD lol jk

  • @Axxidous I know XD And our discussion is taking up the comments page :P At this rate, we may make a few pages worth of comments XD

  • @Genesjss o.o More views for the uploader? o-o lol

  • @Axxidous Ha XD Well, no offense to the uploader, but most people are probably more interested in watching this video instead of him/her XD

  • I love SatAM but I hate furries.

  • @coneyislanddiscomark What does Sonic have to do with furries?

  • @AutumnCrusader Most SatAM fans are evil furries.

  • @coneyislanddiscomark Define "Evil Furries"

  • @AutumnCrusader people like sonmanic. Just look at all the sonic fags on ED.

  • @coneyislanddiscomark I'm a furry and a Sonic fan

But I hate furry porn and I especially hate Sonic the Hedgehog porn, it's rather sick

I'm furry for the character styles

I'm a Sonic fan for the games and the UK comics

Porn? I'll stick to human thanks

  • @AutumnCrusader What about human cosplay furry sexual encounters?

  • @MANICMAIKU Pardon? I'm not sure I understand you

  • @MANICMAIKU And a blank comment even less?

  • @MANICMAIKU I am you!

  • I think this is the earliest version of Sonic 06.

  • Fur fags

  • @Sonicsilvermaster So turn AoSTH into a game over this?

  • "DuRRH I HAS bETTUR IDeA mIStER SeGA CHaIRMAN

LEtTTS NoT MAckE THuS GAamE LeTS MaKE SEVAN SeCERATE RINGASN!

  • exist sonic SATAM game?

  • You guys are actually believing this? Look at it. Everything is so inconsistant. It's just a video.

  • I can see why Sega wasn't exactly inspired by this prototype...it looks pretty bad, and moreover, it seems to take away the whole 'point' of Sonic...his speed! How is that going to be utilized with that kind of animation, 3D environment of the time, and the weird controls? not that the environment was geared toward that anyway.

  • @Aaronthegreatest Not all sonic games already made had much speed to it (ex. sonic 3d),

  • @Alvladssword True, but I didn't like those games either =(

  • @Aaronthegreatest Thats fine but they would have fixed it if it were worked on. lol he only game with satam charecters is sonic spinball :P

  • The thing is...SEGA knows that speed may his defining characteristic, hence his name, but it is not the only thing that made the platform games good. You had to have timing & strategy too. You couldn't just roll through it all like you can now, because back then, you could lose lives--i.e. coins--if you were hit, missed a jump, or drowned in the water when the timer expired on the bubbles that gave you brief oxygen (the bubbles were what allowed Sonic to--gasp--swim in the early games).

  • Some say it looks awful, but it's a prototype, The finished product would have been better if it wasn't canned.

I'd have played it, being a SatAM fan, one of my favourite cartoons

  • Looks awful.

  • Am I the only one glad this wasn't made? I love SatAM and Archie and all, but this is exactly what I'd expect. The whole game would be like this. Seriously, not much high speed, lots of creeping around. Not really Sonic if you ask me. And knowing SEGA, it'd probably suck. It might be interesting if it ran off the Shinobi engine, but there'd be no level variety at all.

I will say a game like this would work if they based it off Archie Knuckles. THEN, it'd be cool.

  • @DocRavage For goodness sakes man, stop calling it archies. Damnit.. Call it SOA's or just American Sonic. And I see nothing wrong with this, should of been made. And anyway we know that Sonic is fast, what Sonic has to be fast all the time? NO. I think this game looked very good. Oh and this game was not even done yet.

  • @sonicsupergod Ok, man, it could have worked. Just afraid of being heartbroken over a bad SOA game. SOA is already underappreciated as it is; I wouldn;t want a bad game damaging its reputation.

  • @DocRavage Oh, yeah I see what ya mean.

  • I saw the final boss of colors and I am impressed. The last boss is. Your not going to believe this. DR ROBOTNIK!!! That is right. Robotnik is piloting an ultimate mech called the Egg Nega Wisp. This is not only Robotnik's big comeback as a Sonic final boss but it is also THE FIRST 3D Sonic game where Robotnik is the game's ultimate boss. This only applies to the Wii version though. DS still uses the cliche mindless monster final boss with Super Sonic idea.

  • Looks like a splinter cell version sonic SATAM.

  • seems like a strategic version to sonic... why didn't they release this

  • i found out that there were sequences in the game where he does have his speed. they would appear to be chase scenes. what we see in this demo is simply a demo of the new game dynamics (Attacks/animations/3D space) This was coming from SEGA Team on Bradley's interview.

  • yeah to bad it didnt get realeased, still theres a lot of hombrew AND COULD FINNISH WHAT SEGA STARTED. that will be sothing

  • why was this game unreleashed damn sega yall could have get alot of fans with this game now yall canceled it im mad at yall now atleast sonic 4 and sonic colors will be cool i hope

  • I am ticked off at this. Both the Sonic Mars Project and Sonic X-Treme had massive potential to be among the best games ever made but they were never released. It makes me so mad.

  • Looks like something that Hideo Kojima would make if he had the rights of Sonic. In fact, wouldn't things be different if Hideo Kojima had the rights of Sonic?

  • @batrix64 I'm not the only one who thinks that? Awesome!

  • @specifficallysonic

but I'm talking a full game based on the show. Not a game with the shows liking like Mean Bean, which I think was different game entirely in Japan.

  • This game does look interesting. Too bad it never got the green light.

The only things I would have changed was make Sonic move faster, not throw rings as a weapon, and make it so you could play as Sally and Bunnie too.

  • I rather seen a AoSTH game.

  • That would've been an awesome game.

  • Wait is this the official project from Sonic SatAM based game? If so why did they canceled it from the first place?

  • Comment removed

  • In a way this project was sort of finished. The prtotype of this game was soon transformed into Sonicspinball

  • @moesamuri

Completely different game there Moe. I forgot where I read it but one article says that this one was ALLEGEDLY about Robotnik hatching a plan to take over a virtual mobius... though that's about as concrete as the details get.

Very short story description so unfortunately there's nothing more descriptive or in-depth to go off of.

It was going to be a very ambitious project though with both stealth (as seen in the vid) AND traditional speed gameplay.

  • @Interplayfan Oh ok.

I jus wish tht they actually finished it!

  • SatAM FTW! Seriously they should have finished this.

  • I am glad they never made this. I mean look at how slow he moves. and sonic should never sneak his, name's not metal gear sonic.

  • Why the hell didn't Sega make this!?!?! This would've been the greatest Sonic game of all time!

  • This looks like the best sonic game ever.

  • You know what would be great? A series of Sonic games that followed the story of the comic and SatAM (which was tied into the comic) all the way through. And had a ton of different playable characters like Bunnie

  • This video never gets old. I would love to buy this game!

  • this game look very good and i would play it

  • This probably would have made a great game.

  • Looks better than the TV show.

  • Looks cool I would have played this. Maybe they should do the third season of SATAM as a video game.

  • this would have been awesome! b=would have added a new dimension to sonic

  • lol at the jet flames not being flames at all but rings instead

  • Why isn't there an artical on this on wikipedia?

  • is there a download link for this is this even a real game

  • @MsVeryconcerned it was supposed to be, but it was never finished and the game project was cancelled.

  • Why wouldn't they finish this? It looks awesome....

  • because it wasn't popular and it was slow. Of course it's popular now...but that's also largely because it's of SatAM lol

  • @Axxidous: Wasn't popular? More like, wasn't known. Many fans--even of SatAM and Archie--didn't even know this existed, so how in the hell did SEGA expect it to be popular if no promotion was made for it?

  • @TherealRNO Well, I didn't say it was well known either. XD

  • what is this fucking sick beat I'm listening to. did i just stumble into some gay s&m dungeon. i need this soundtrack.

  • Download??

  • Write angry letters to SEGA!

  • Loved that buzz saw move! I would of bought it!

  • I demand this game!

  • this looks like a cool idea actully. sonic did do some sneaking around in the satam cartoon. and he did run fast but he really only used it when he needed it. but that's just from what i remember

  • If you start the video from 0:59 It sounds very disturbing.

  • yes it does 'ooh yeah'

  • You know funny thing about the intro to this game, the Sonic logo looks alot like that Sonic Pinball game.

By the way someone should make a hack from this by using Sonic 3 and Knuckles or some game.

By the way Robotnik was really BIG in this series, which is actually based off the Sonic comics.

  • Yami: The show inspired the comics. Even Archie's head writers admit as much. It was just easier to push out comics quicker than an animated series.

NESforBreakfast: Or not. Even in the old games, timing was crucial. You couldn't just barrel through levels and hope to win. Well, I guess you could, but remember, the original games didn't have the saving aspect that their ports to modern consoles--like Mega Collection--did, so you would've died alot before completing the game.

  • this looks awesome, but sonic gows slow

  • just looking at this game I guess I can see why it got canceled.

  • This game would have been great. :).

  • Can you play as Bunnie? That'd be sweet!

  • I wish there was a way to get the sprites cause they look amazing.

  • From what I heard, Sonic actually was supposed to run fast. This is just platforming.

I'd still would like to see this real & released.

  • A stealth Sonic game? hmm..

  • Is there any way to download the game.

  • Best to try & make a fan game based off of this.

  • I'd buy it.

  • I MUST HAVE THAT!

  • gamefan06: No. It needed saving once Amy Rose was included.

As was mentioned in the video itself, this was just a preview of new levels, because obviously--just like SatAM--there would be stealth levels like this one, as well as the levels built for speed that classic Sonic fans like myself would enjoy. I mean, you must remember that Sonic cannot just brush past enemies all the time. He has to have some sense of strategy, for without that, he's just going to become Robotnik's spikey doormat.

  • The gameplay looks kinda like Sonic and Metroid combined.

  • This would have been so cool!!!

  • this accualy looks pretty fun

  • metal gear sonic

  • @bartix64 first thing that comes to mind when i see this

  • Anyone know what the music is? My guess is, it would be something from Purple Motion or Necros.

  • Yea, I know. that's the one element that seperates Sonic from the rest. Its a shame Sega didn't do more with Satam.

    This genre was awesome

  • Funny, cause now all they do with Power Rangers is spew more crappy spinoffs when SaTam could've been SO SO much more.

  • Sonic X is a horrible show. It doesn't come CLOSE to how awesome SaTam, and AoSTH were. Also Power Rangers have gone horrible after the time travelling series. All the show is doing is being milked for more money. I can ask anyone from my town and they'll all agree that Power Ranger has lost it's way.

  • Worth buying.

  • 0:47 take that noob!

  • Sonic of Persia

  • It was their first idea for what eventually became the canceled game Sonic X-Treme

  • This game would be FUN! Damn SOJ!!!

  • Aw man. I'm sure this game would of been great! I wonder what system it would of been on...

  • WHY WAS THIS NOT COMPLETED?!

  • From what I heard Yuji Naka cancelled it because it wasn't what he wanted. I'm not sure if it's true or not though

  • @RedSuperSonicNinja0: Funny that, since he finally realized at the end of his tenure that it was the Western interpretations (ex: SatAM) that gave Sonic his cult status the world over, beyond what the Japanese shills out (crappy control schemes, bad storylines, nearly every new character just being a horrid re-color of an established one, et al).

  • @TherealRNO The Japanese games are all awesome except for Secret Rings and 3d Blast.

  • @TherealRNO

You must be trolling. The games are much better known internationally than the cartoons or comics.

  • @sanjurosama: No, I'm not. To quote the SoA chief, "...one of my colleagues in Japan said to me "Every meeting we go into, Nakayama asks us why can't you do things the way the Americans & Europeans did?" [He] beat them up over Sonic, which was never as successful in Japan as it was in the U.S. & Europe, & I think he was throwing that in their faces too. So clearly, by late '95 there was great resentment & kind of a desire to get back at those Americans. . . partly due to our success in America."

  • Even just a one level prototype I think this game would've had a lot of potential.

Looking at the posts below mine, you gotta remember, this is NOT how the whole game probably would be, I'm sure they would've made full use of his speed in some levels.

I'm sure many would probably be happy to see Sally take a role in a game aside from the few seconds you see her in the Sonic Spinball bonus levels as well.

  • So...

Would this've been on the Mega Drive? Looks really enjoyable, once you get used to the lack of speed. A bit like that Bonanza Bros., yes?

  • looks to slow

  • this game should be called "metal gear SOLic"

  • Man this game looked cool.Sucks it didn't get released.

  • i would like to try it out
