I just recently watched a special on mesquita and michel nostrodamus on the history international channel and i have to say mesquita is a pretty smart figure. But Nostradamus clearly had better vision; a more natural vision, whereas mesquita uses mathematical models and formulations that have already been discovered.
BDM is accurate past the previous 30 percentile of previous theorists, he hits somewhere within the 80 to 90 range. Which is, with plus or minus' applicable, near 100%. Nostrodamus was right one out of every hundred or so of his quatrains and it was ex post rather than ex ante making it easier for him to be right in that we apply, for instance his mention of Hister, to an event that happened well, centuries afterwards. BDM mentions his outcomes ex ante. Nostros was a hoax.
@thbc1391 thing with BDM is that the advance in technology and mathematics over the years has helped him. He uses a computer algorithm and mathematical formulations. Nostrodamus's sources were very limited; hence he only had his natural vision to work with. Much more difficult. Don't get me wrong BDM is very smart and a gifted individual but for you to say nostros is a hoax is false in my opinion.
He lit insense and looked at water droplets and went into trances. You can not be serious. BDM is a joke too, yes he is right 90 % but he constrains theories so much he has created a method that he expects situations to fit into. He wouldnt be right 90% of the time if he lent his algorithms to 100% of the cases. But cmon, Nostro was in no way a prophet, he was a mystic, hes up there with the quatrain yuppies who believe in the bible code. Easy to predict post hoc.
@Ducati549r And again, he tranced out and wrote down gibberish. That's just common sense that he mad it up. If you guess 1000 times youre going to get one thing right. Also, he used emotional and artistic language so it could be interpreted in many ways, upping his %.
It may gibberish in your sense but obviously it has its strength and durablity to be acquired and studied by scholars over the years. For you to be a prophet doesnt mean you have to be correct 100% of the time. Nostrodamus had visions, some were succesful and others werent. He went with what he envisioned and felt. Its not gibberish though. The validity of his quatrains are being debated until this day, making his work very substantial.
