lmao. Only some canadians say Oat and aboat. xD I honestly don't think I have an accent, but I get told that it is there....but mine is more french canadian because I live in Quebec.
I like all tha accents. Im Canadian and often say 'eh'. I love Canada but America. Those lucky bastards have a billion accents! Im not offended by the video, most Canadians probably aren't either, but the one accent we have is sooo stereotyped haha.
I like all accents. Its culteral. I live in Ontario Canada and I never hear anyone say aboot. LOL We all laugh about that here... I think its more the eastern part of canada that says aboot. AND theres nothin wrong with it! :)
@xuorigailaht Yeah I think it may be small-town east-coast thing... i've heard it a number of times here in the maritimes, only really from older people now though so maybe it's dying out... but in the Maritimes at least, a lot of us definitely have an accent, and some strange expressions.
If We ACTUALLY did have an "accent", then, I would say, ...Awesome! But, I like going OUT and ABOUT! (No one here, says it like that, but, what evs....)
@withjusticeand The countries that make up Africa were colonized brutally by British, French and American occupiers. Basically, people from these countries would fight to claim the land, resources, and in many cases slave power throughout the continent. Colonialism did not formally end until after WW2. Apartheid, genocide, lots of murder, severe displacement of people from their land... Anyhow, that explains why there are 'white' people there...Canada and US as well.
This guy's a f*cking joke. oot and aboot, i've never heard a Canadian say that. What a douche. You sound like the biggest queer ever dude, going on about your accent like it sounds good and ours sounds weird... what? You sound like you got a bag of dicks in your mouth.

His girl in the class accent is absolutely right. I would have to say though that I never noticed it until I went there, however agreed I hate how young ''girls'' talk nowadays.
Ahh. Yeah I've never been to NS and haven't really met anyone from there so that might be why. I don't hear eh all that often either. For some reasons I feel like scottish people may say that quite a bit as well but that may just be the people I've heard talking.
@omgxwtfxnoodles its a nova scotia thing..we say out and about..and it don't sound like aboot more sounds like aboat... but thats where he's getting that from..but they also think that everyone in Canada says Eh ..when they don't..so i guess its the same thing with out and about (aboot).. they think everyone says it
I'm from Canada, and I have heard people say 'aboot' very seldom, but most of us say 'about' normally. Well like other speaking countries we have our own way of saying certain words.

@zeldasol LOL. Americans are the inventors of the world. America explores the deep sea and the heavens. America sends men to distant moons and brings them safely back to earth. America explores distant planets and builds devices that see back to the beginning of the universe. Canada? They make moose hats and maple candy.
Hmm, I never really put much thought into whether we put more accent on the T then Americans. I'll be sure to pay more attention to it next time.
A reason why I think some may pronounce the "ou" as "oo" is because in French (which happens to be one of the languages here), that's the way "ou' is articulated. For example, the word heavy in French is "lourd" but the way you say it sounds like your saying "loor".

To be completely honest, where I'm from in Canada I hadn't even heard of the "aboot" stereotype until a few years ago. Even now that I have heard of it, I've yet to meet a Canadian who pronounces it that way. Anyway, I just figured I might as well throw my two cents in.
You have an interesting accent yourself, by the way. :)
@omgxwtfxnoodles well thank you for that last sentence.and yeah, like i've said before, this video was just made for my friends to see originally, and people tend to think i actually know what i'm talking about here or at least they think that i think i know what I'm talking about, which i didn't at the time. canadians just have an accent like everyone else, and the way they pronounce "out" is just funny, because they annunciate the "t" unlike americans. anyways, keep well :)
@Aice2313 you are such a typical Canadian. I'm from the USA and i personally don't like the Canadian accent but it's better than the English accent. No but i really like Canada and i think of them as the country i root for next the the US.
@omgxwtfxnoodles@zeldasol LOL. Americans are the inventors of the world. America explores the deep sea and the heavens. America sends men to distant moons and brings them safely back to earth. @omgxwtfxnoodles I am from Southern Ontario,Canada and I have not heard any Canadian pronounce "about" like "aboot" they need to hear more Canadians talk so they can see for themselves.
People often categorize accents by country but fact of the matter is that there are many different accents within one country. Personally I am an eastern Canadian(maritimes) and I sound nothing like someone from lets say Ontario or Alberta etc.
haha Very funny! So Im brazilian who dates a canadian and have lots of american, british and australian friends. I agree with you in most of the topics, even though I still dont here much of the oats from canadians... But yeah, your accent is also very cool, you sound quite drunk..no offence. I wonder what youd think about nonenglish speaker talking in english, Like me. My bf says I still talk quite funny... =)
Lol omg I don't say about like the way you say it that sounds Irish to me haha I say more like OUT I'm canadian and I don't really realize we have an accent like the most stereotypical thing I can admit to doing is saying eh ...
I'm constantly hearing people from other countries having a huge problem with our accents. But i mean, that's the way of the world. When the british decided to colonize Canada, they integrated with out native people. So thus, as any accent would, it changes. I fail to understand why other english speaking countries don't realize that there are other countries in the world. And we are no less because of how we talk :S
@okokwegetit22 well first of all, thank you for being friendly unlike most of the Canadians who comment on this stupid video, secondly, yeah i know what you mean, accents sound different to everyone because there are so many of them. I love accents though, i don't know what the hell i was thinking when i posted this video -_- thanks again for being friendly, much appreciated!! Have a good one!
Your accent isn't weird, no accent is. They are all interesting and the way each one sounds gives clues as to it's origin, which dates back hundreds or thousands of years. That makes every accent interesting. As for wanting to sound like x, y, or z, there is an expression, "The grass is always greener on the other side." I think that is true of so many things when we think of other countries. Often we prefer their accents and their weather, but if we lived there.. we would think differently.
@beautifulnightlock I know i know calm down, jeezzz.... i made this video when i just came to canada and observed the accent, it seemed so different to me. I fuckong hate this video, i was so dumb :( sorry if i offended you
oh and we jim carry and mike myers! yeah we'll be clamin' them all! we also got wayne gretzgy to crosby man you can't even bother me by those stupid insults that you guys try to come up with because they suck!
You may be south african but your as ignorant as an american. I have lived in Canada my entire life and we do not speak like that if anything we speak more educatedly than the americans.
I'm from Canada and I have to say your pronunciation of "out" was fairly accurate. If I were to say the word slowly, it wouldn't be that exaggerated, but when I speak at a normal pace it does start to sound like "oat".
@nomnomnom2800 Actually, I think he nails the Canadian "out and about" sound. I've heard many Canadians (and maybe I'm one of them, but I can't tell) say the "ou" sound in a very short clipped manner just like this guy does.
@longshanks50 i did over exaggerate a lot though... haha i was really dumb in this video, but thanks for not making a rude comment about me or the video, appreciate it a lot!
@nomnomnom2800 , actually I'm from canada . victoria to be accurate , we say it all the time , yeah its not that deep , but still it is kind of deep , cheer up a bit , its something to be proud of , eh ?
@TheCoLlInGs07 yeahp :) the dungeon i currently live in is a bit darker though, and a little more isolated, the one i recorded this video in was on a mountaintop, but it got too mainstream so i moved to a dungeon underground. It's quite surreal.
I've watched a few of these accent videos; one theme which I find so hilarious is that everyone says 'oh but we don't sound like that' All of you are completely wrong. To you, your accent sounds like nothing. Your brain can't hear it unless your told 'this is your accent' and someone says it, like in these videos. Not a single accent is bad, they are just different. Also, your Sooth Africaan accent seems pretty light, my relatives live there and yours is definitely on the lighter side.
oh my god ok you totally got me that's why i thought your south african accent was really american mixed with a really bad imitation of southern american
@nanoo04 haha wow okay, sorry if i "act" gay, but to tell you the truth, i couldn't care less about your comment because first off it's not true, secondly it's not a bad thing to be or act gay, and thirdly i'm dating a girl you dumbass... anyways, thanks for your opinion on the way i act, i hope it makes you sleep better tonight knowing that you told me i act gay, and fuck you :) have a nice day.
Why do people write negative comments on this video. Cant we all just appreciate how cute this south african's accent is and get along. ps. LuhYouGrant
@brandonjay10 well thanks brandon :p (if that's your name!) i appreciate the nice comment, but everyone is entitled to their own opinion so... haters gonna hate i guess :)
A) Canadians don't say "oot" or "aboot". Secondly, I know Irish people and they don't say "oot" or "aboot". The way you're stressing the 'ou' sound is completely wrong. In fast talk, Canadians say it more like an 'au' sound than a 'oo' sound. B) This may sound bad of me but with the hand expressions and the tangents you go off on, you speak and act very feminine. If you're homosexual, that's fine, but if you aren't you may want to tone that down. It was the first thing that I saw in the video.
@DropsOfOil okay well that's interesting, i don't care what you think to be honest and i don't appreciate you trying to tell me how i should act if i'm straight or gay. and i'm not gay. accents sound different to everyone and everyone is entitled to their own opinion. but thanks for watching the video at least, have a good day
@007Fortis I don't have a homo lover but it sounds like you have the details of homosexual sex all sorted out. I'll keep that in mind just in case I ever dump my girlfriend and start going after guys. Thanks for the tip! (no not that tip, don't get your hopes up)
@007Fortis Well thanks for the offer, but by the sounds of it, your butt hole won't be any tighter than the loose canyon vagina I am already working with, but I'm hesitant to switch from her to you because although I have to deal with the herpes (as you claim), I'd much rather have that than the HIV you must have. You sound like you've been around the block so with that many guys doing you in the ass, I'm pretty sure you have that one disease, if not more, by now. If I were you, I'd get tested.
@DropsOfOil I just got checked today actually! The doctor stuck his hand in my asshole and said everything was "A-OK!" So I back out on the block, occasionally staring in gay porn films as well! Some include, Raiders of the Lost Asshole. You and your girl friend should get off to it!
@007Fortis You got your test results back in one day?! I'm jealous, we (the gf and I) had to wait a pain-staking week before we found out that we had the herp. The doctor could fit his whole hand up there? That's impressive. I'm afraid that even if I take your offer and we get together that you won't feel a thing. I'm not near the size of an entire hand. By the way, I've seen your movie...the storyline and acting were bad but the guys were very impressive. Weren't you also in "Men in-a Black"?
@DropsOfOil Yes, well the doctor and I are good friends so he was able to pull some strings, and tug other things if you know what I mean. The doctor is a very small midget though! I was, I was indeed in 'Men in-a Black'! Part two will be out soon, so be sure to check it out!

Even now that I have heard of it, I've yet to meet a Canadian who pronounces it that way. Anyway, I just figured I might as well throw my two cents in.
You have an interesting accent yourself, by the way. :)
omgxwtfxnoodles 1 month ago 20
@omgxwtfxnoodles well thank you for that last sentence.and yeah, like i've said before, this video was just made for my friends to see originally, and people tend to think i actually know what i'm talking about here or at least they think that i think i know what I'm talking about, which i didn't at the time. canadians just have an accent like everyone else, and the way they pronounce "out" is just funny, because they annunciate the "t" unlike americans. anyways, keep well :)
Aice2313 1 month ago 2
@Aice2313 you are such a typical Canadian. I'm from the USA and i personally don't like the Canadian accent but it's better than the English accent. No but i really like Canada and i think of them as the country i root for next the the US.

@omgxwtfxnoodles @zeldasol LOL. Americans are the inventors of the world. America explores the deep sea and the heavens. America sends men to distant moons and brings them safely back to earth. America explores distant planets and builds devices that see back to the beginning of the universe. Canada? They make moose hats and maple candy.

People often categorize accents by country but fact of the matter is that there are many different accents within one country. Personally I am an eastern Canadian(maritimes) and I sound nothing like someone from lets say Ontario or Alberta etc.

From a friendly Canadian
okokwegetit22 2 months ago 13
@okokwegetit22 well first of all, thank you for being friendly unlike most of the Canadians who comment on this stupid video, secondly, yeah i know what you mean, accents sound different to everyone because there are so many of them. I love accents though, i don't know what the hell i was thinking when i posted this video -_- thanks again for being friendly, much appreciated!! Have a good one!

That pronounciation for Canadian is more Eastern Canada.
uuravil 2 months ago
Your accent isn't weird, no accent is. They are all interesting and the way each one sounds gives clues as to it's origin, which dates back hundreds or thousands of years. That makes every accent interesting. As for wanting to sound like x, y, or z, there is an expression, "The grass is always greener on the other side." I think that is true of so many things when we think of other countries. Often we prefer their accents and their weather, but if we lived there.. we would think differently.
MrThisplaceisweird 2 months ago
@beautifulnightlock I know i know calm down, jeezzz.... i made this video when i just came to canada and observed the accent, it seemed so different to me. I fuckong hate this video, i was so dumb :( sorry if i offended you

Jirachi84 2 months ago
You may be south african but your as ignorant as an american. I have lived in Canada my entire life and we do not speak like that if anything we speak more educatedly than the americans.
beautifulnightlock 2 months ago
I'm from Canada and I have to say your pronunciation of "out" was fairly accurate. If I were to say the word slowly, it wouldn't be that exaggerated, but when I speak at a normal pace it does start to sound like "oat".

@nomnomnom2800 thanks for letting me know!! -_- like every other Canadian who comments on this video. haha
Aice2313 2 months ago
@nomnomnom2800 Actually, I think he nails the Canadian "out and about" sound. I've heard many Canadians (and maybe I'm one of them, but I can't tell) say the "ou" sound in a very short clipped manner just like this guy does.
longshanks50 2 months ago
@longshanks50 i did over exaggerate a lot though... haha i was really dumb in this video, but thanks for not making a rude comment about me or the video, appreciate it a lot!

TheCoLlInGs07 2 months ago
@TheCoLlInGs07 yeahp :) the dungeon i currently live in is a bit darker though, and a little more isolated, the one i recorded this video in was on a mountaintop, but it got too mainstream so i moved to a dungeon underground. It's quite surreal.

Poor impression of a Southern California accent.....
CheckM8King2 2 months ago
I've watched a few of these accent videos; one theme which I find so hilarious is that everyone says 'oh but we don't sound like that' All of you are completely wrong. To you, your accent sounds like nothing. Your brain can't hear it unless your told 'this is your accent' and someone says it, like in these videos. Not a single accent is bad, they are just different. Also, your Sooth Africaan accent seems pretty light, my relatives live there and yours is definitely on the lighter side.

@brandonjay10 well thanks brandon :p (if that's your name!) i appreciate the nice comment, but everyone is entitled to their own opinion so... haters gonna hate i guess :)
Aice2313 2 months ago
A) Canadians don't say "oot" or "aboot". Secondly, I know Irish people and they don't say "oot" or "aboot". The way you're stressing the 'ou' sound is completely wrong. In fast talk, Canadians say it more like an 'au' sound than a 'oo' sound. B) This may sound bad of me but with the hand expressions and the tangents you go off on, you speak and act very feminine. If you're homosexual, that's fine, but if you aren't you may want to tone that down. It was the first thing that I saw in the video.
DropsOfOil 2 months ago
@DropsOfOil okay well that's interesting, i don't care what you think to be honest and i don't appreciate you trying to tell me how i should act if i'm straight or gay. and i'm not gay. accents sound different to everyone and everyone is entitled to their own opinion. but thanks for watching the video at least, have a good day

@DropsOfOil Do you put drops of oil on your asshole before your homo lover sticks his dick in your ass?
007Fortis 2 months ago
@007Fortis I don't have a homo lover but it sounds like you have the details of homosexual sex all sorted out. I'll keep that in mind just in case I ever dump my girlfriend and start going after guys. Thanks for the tip! (no not that tip, don't get your hopes up)
DropsOfOil 2 months ago
@DropsOfOil No problem buddy! Hopefully my butt hole is more pleasurable then your girlfriends herpes infected, loose, canyon vagina. ;)
007Fortis 2 months ago
@007Fortis Well thanks for the offer, but by the sounds of it, your butt hole won't be any tighter than the loose canyon vagina I am already working with, but I'm hesitant to switch from her to you because although I have to deal with the herpes (as you claim), I'd much rather have that than the HIV you must have. You sound like you've been around the block so with that many guys doing you in the ass, I'm pretty sure you have that one disease, if not more, by now. If I were you, I'd get tested.
DropsOfOil 2 months ago
@DropsOfOil I just got checked today actually! The doctor stuck his hand in my asshole and said everything was "A-OK!" So I back out on the block, occasionally staring in gay porn films as well! Some include, Raiders of the Lost Asshole. You and your girl friend should get off to it!
007Fortis 2 months ago
@007Fortis You got your test results back in one day?! I'm jealous, we (the gf and I) had to wait a pain-staking week before we found out that we had the herp. The doctor could fit his whole hand up there? That's impressive. I'm afraid that even if I take your offer and we get together that you won't feel a thing. I'm not near the size of an entire hand. By the way, I've seen your movie...the storyline and acting were bad but the guys were very impressive. Weren't you also in "Men in-a Black"?
DropsOfOil 2 months ago
@DropsOfOil Yes, well the doctor and I are good friends so he was able to pull some strings, and tug other things if you know what I mean. The doctor is a very small midget though! I was, I was indeed in 'Men in-a Black'! Part two will be out soon, so be sure to check it out!
