Kobe had some sick dunks back in his day. The one against MN in the west finals was pretty sweet. Kobe's dunks just kind of came out of nowhere a lot of the times. Vince Carter had everything power, style, creativity, and finesse. James white number 2? I've seen his from the free throw in college and high school. Never really had a lot of dunks in the pros. I think he played for Indiana? Never really saw too much to call him the 2nd greatest dunker in the NBA

I am going to un-apologetically go with Jordan on this one. Vince added some great new twists to the catalog, similarly to what MJ did with what Dr J had already accomplished. The difference is that MJ did so with unparalleled athleticism. He was just quicker and jumped higher than anyone I've ever seen. Dunks like the one on Will Turpin and the foul line dunk over Bill Lambeir in a game were just impossibly impressive. I am also partial to Mike's cradle dunks.
VC dunked smashed it on Mutombo in '99 and on Mourning the same year. Both were in still in their prime. VC destroyed Theo Ratliff when he was terrorizing the league circa 2000. And of course Ben Wallace was victimized when he was dominating the league with his defense.
Kemp dunked on Mourning, Mutombo, Robinson, Olajuwon. Not even Olajuwon could block him. Vc has never dunked on a good defender like Olajuwon, Olajuwon was one of the best defenders and shot blocker of all time, probably the best defender of recent times, and kemp dunked on him regularly. Don't forget vc dunked on Mourning, Mutombo, Robinson when they were old and not good anymore. Kemp dunked on the same people when they were in their prime.

To be honest, I don't think Vince actually wanted to be a top player. People forget that when he first came into the league he was starting to get Jordan-level attention and fame because his moves were so exciting. But it was visible that Vince didn't like being in the spotlight like he was. You can especially see that in the Raptors/Knicks play-offs series. He almost looked like he wanted to cry there was so much coverage of his every move. I don't think he wanted that.

But if anything, I don't see him working on improving his leg strength which is what it's missing from his physical abilities right now. Most of Vc dunks there's no defender in front of him. Most of Kemp's dunks he's dunking on people, alot of times on two defenders, like the dunk on the Nuggets: on Laphonso Ellis and Mutombo.

Let me add, Jordan was a great dunker for his time but he like all other players dont have plays like Vince dunking. Only one player has a top 10 windmill dunk video, etc. Yeah people want to say Jordan can do stuff Vince did but he didnt. All people can do is speculate which means nothing. You can't compare it. In the 1980s, the free throw dunk was INSANE. Things developed in the next decade. Slowly, dunks got more and more creative. If Jordan was competing in dunk contests in the late 90s, I'll bet he would've come out with some insane dunks.
No one was faster or could get more/longer air than Jordan, so I believe he had the ABILITY to do almost anyone else's dunk, even if he may not have thought of it himself.

The bias is ridiculous. Just because Vince isn't an all-time great like Doc or MJ doesn't mean you have to pretend he's not a distantly better dunker than them. To be honest, I don't think Vince actually wanted to be a top player. People forget that when he first came into the league he was starting to get Jordan-level attention and fame because his moves were so exciting. But it was visible that Vince didn't like being in the spotlight like he was. You can especially see that in the Raptors/Knicks play-offs series. He almost looked like he wanted to cry there was so much coverage of his every move. I don't think he wanted that.

But if anything, I don't see him working on improving his leg strength which is what it's missing from his physical abilities right now. He did that last season increasing his standing vertical jump to 31 inches but I haven't heard anything about him training for the last 6+ months... he's too slow right now and his only ability pretty much remains the post game.
