I'm PISSED at this new system. Why? Because you have to have 10 points to go! It's the only event I make it to all season, but now I gotta do other events to go to mats!
umm i was wondering if any of you or jwittz could send me a good deck of cards ive heard of like luxachomp and donphan and yea i just want to start actually playing but been collecting for years so if anyone could help me out please do thanks!
I dont think awarding tons of points for a tournament that not everyone can go to would be a good idea. Everyone has access to BR, Cities, and States. Not everyone can travel to Indy. Making it a point heavy tournament that demands you to go or you wouldnt have a chance at worlds would be more unbalanced.
it shouldnt matter if its a city or national tournament. the points you get for winning should be dependent on how many people are there. A citys with 32 people should give more points then a citys with 16 players for example.
Hey Jwittz isn't how convience that this new policy came out when I started getting into the card game. You think this is a perfect time as ever. Also do you think this will make it easier or harder to get to worlds next year
@Madeforfun100 "Each Premier Event series has a different "K Value." The K Value is part of the ratings equation that indicates the maximum number of rating points at stake for each match."
There are currently no tournaments that require you to have any specific number of points to participate in. Other than Worlds, of course. Tournaments are, and always have been, free for anyone to participate in.
I'd have a certain portion (say half) of points carry over from one year to the next, maybe even having those bonus points from each category counting toward Best Finish Limits. That idea could get complicated, though.
Points carrying over would be a terrible idea. Essentially, new players, even new players that do well, will be at a disadvantage until old players stop playing, to the point we might have a "rotation" of worlds players, which I think is really terrible.
since you know alot about the pokemon card game, maybe you can answer my question for me. i have a whole bunch of older formatted cards (before saphire and pearl) and they have the old look. can these cards can be used in tournaments anymore?
TCG rules are a bit stupid. Just after the first Black and white set they stopped you from using HG/SS Cards didn't they. Those were still being used by a lot of people in good sets
I feel like the new rules are basically saying that you have to make it to top cut just turn championship points when before you to win a couple of rounds of swiss and your rating would go up.
Regardless of cons of the new system, the new system promotes participation and not dropping/not competing and there is no way that can't be applauded. People might worry about others raiding for championship points, but I don't think Pokemon should ever support a system that rewards people for just winning what they need to and then not competing.
Between preparing for the launch of the new season and the launch of the PTCGO, I'd say they did well.
In Singapore we barely 5 battle roads 1 Cities 1 State 1 Nats; Will we be at a disadvantage in comparison with players from other countries in terms of earning the World's invite?
@TheJWittz tpci posted on the gym saying they didn't take away any amount of their budget (in fact they hinted that the VGC budget was contributing to to make regionals a bit cheaper), so I don't think we're really losing any support. Also another idea is that they are going add more trips for worlds to make up for the loss in prize support.
All of it is obviously theory, but honestly if they gave out more trips to worlds I think it would be well worth the trade off. (I am a student myself)

Hey you are much better off script. You should do your videos based off points and ideas and not scripts. like this video.
