Thats not that fast.. If you have 500Gb x 192.. which would be OCZ SSD's @ 720mb/sec each.. You'd get around 13.8 Thousand MB/sec which would be more amazing to me.

say both drives read at 200mbs and there are 2hds thats 400mbs since it take the data from both the drives at the same time(mirrored drives that is depend on the config(raid setup)).

Ssd;s is more about access time (well read and write are going up now a day's)

But 48 hardrives that do 100 mb's + as well so i think that 3gb's is doable :)

i was gonna say you where wrong but i tested my ssd and hardrives, and you're spot on :p and about ssd's, they're great for you os; buy a cheap one (mine 64Gb,135euros) and instal windows zeven on it or what you want, you'll never go back :p creates a snappy system.
