Yeah but Paul and Sean played on HUMAN of all albums which was Death's real breakthrough album (in the sense they caught EVERYBODY's attention) album so naturally a some Death fans know Paul and Sean a little more for being in Death. Also a lot of fans including myself feel like the the Human lineup was one of the if not the best ever. The only lineup that comes close is obviously Individual Thought Patterns followed by Spiritual Healing.
the other night i asked paul how much input he had with human. his exact words were "chuck would paint a picture in black and white and me and sean would give it color."
@Bassbait As nothing more than a fan of them I have no clue whether or not they do drugs, but why does it matter in the first place? Drugs have always been a part of being human, even though some people have (strange) reasons for not admitting it.
@xenogis Well, the problem with drugs is, it encourages altered writing processes. Most "great" musicians do drugs, and so that fact will create the illusion that drugs are benevolent and create geniuses. It also saddens me to think that many great writers took inspiration from getting high, which I think is completely unnecessary to the process of writing great music. Great music is great music, but if it's all drug induced, then there's a problem.
this is fucking respectable he knows that it is weird and he share in with the crowd none of the frontmans share something with the crowd they just headbanging and u believe that they like their music they just headbanging for money cynic says its weird and thats amazing RESPECT:)
I think I'd feel wierd in that situation too. If me and my friend were in a band and the lead singer/guitarist died, I sure as heck wouldn't be covering them, that would be really personal and akward.
No doubt. I recently just bought The Fragile Art Of Existence by Control Denied (Chuck's other band in case you don't know). I can never get bored listening to Chuck play.
I can totally respect that-they feel his music would be best honoured if it were left as it was by the master-In its pure state. On the other hand,I can understand the 'Perserverance' line-up performing a live tribute-they're just doing their part in what Chuck always believed in:"Keeping the Metal Alive".Chuck is still one of the most underrated songwriters in modern music.Heavy metal wouldn't be where it is today without his contribution. And we are all so much better for it.Thankyou Chuck-RIP.
Paul is a real down to earth guy. I wish Chuck was alive so they could do one song. It's not a high demand kinda thing, it's a 'that be awesome' kinda thing'.
Yes,Control Denied is Chuck's mighty metal crusade! I hope the 2nd album finally sees the light of day.I'm sure Chuck would've much preferred a full-sounding production to be released compared to the working demos that were issued on 'Zero Tolerance II'.My heart goes out to his family. But Chuck is untouchable.-B.C.Rich is releasing a limited edition 'Stealth' series guitar in tribute to the great man.
BC Rich's trying to get some money as the company sees that thatwork "Releasing Guitars and Products" in the memory of a passed way person works and sells.
Take stupid Dean guitars for example.
Sure they have gone it too far, really too far.
They 're making money out of the name of a dead man.
If the money reach a good cause then it's fine, but i'm damn sure that they reach their pockets.
Dean currently have over 30 'dimebag darrel signature guitars'. If that is not milking his death for every penny then can squeeze out of it then I do not know what is.
By the way I guess someone asked them to play death. That's so rude. They are cynic not a death cover band, and their music is totally different. It's like asking King Diamond to play something from Individual Thought Patterns. By the way, Paul handled the situation very politly, this show again how great this small guy is:)
endeed Chuck wrote everithing but they still had a big influence in the music. Why is every Death album so diferent? because every album had it's own elite of musicians the influenced the music, Chuck said this himself.
No you guys are all very wrong. Chuck did not write everything.
The whole reason Chuck brought guys like Paul Masvidal in was to help him write. Chuck was a great player don't get me wrong but he could not read and understand music the way Paul could. So Chuck would bring in guys like Paul who knew every scale, note, harmony to help him write and let them do writing.
Chuck did write the songs, it's just he let the musicians have free reins when it came to write their own parts. He'd always be there to give input, if he liked it or not, so the main work was usually done by Chuck and then he just wanted to get the "sickest" performance out of his other bandmates
Noone can know for sure how the group was working at the time.we can only hypothesize.one thing is for sure:Chuck had the ideas...he was a music genious
100% right, dude, not only is it rude but it's also desperately idiotic !
Cynic are excellent musicians and wonderful people, they deserve respect. As for DEATH, Chuck is sadly missed. Bands from nowadays are shit. I am highly nostalgic of the first time I heard Death, with "Open Casket" from some Roadrunner LP sampler.
Chuck may have gone, but he is never gonna be dead !
there was a tribute show in montreal recently featuring ex members from various lineups... I dont think the other members felt weird about it...but i believe they had a more intimate time with chuck and witnessed his passing, and were greatly affected as people... the "sound of perserverence" lineup still has a band, but theres no lyrics and its ..kinda haunting.
RIP CHUCK

now, what exactly happened here??
it's a Cynic concert and some assholes were asking for Death songs?
I would've told the audience to go fuck their mothers!
It's not like they were long time members of Death who decided to go "solo", geez..
It's kind of like asking for Gene Hoglan to play "The Philosopher" on a Strapping Young Lad concert

Don't take that the wrong way, I just need an answer to that question.

They release it because it came into high demand, and Dimebag's guitars were best sellers before the incident.
the mainstream Metal community just eats up the Dime guitars, whats Dean going to do, stop making them?

How is that rude. They were death. They helped write the songs.
So it is really nothing like asking King Diamond to play Death, considering last time i checked KinG Diamond never played in Death
