@VisualVideoTruth You are angry and you are trying to take it out on me. Either you have not read what I've previously written or you are not inteligent enough to understand. Thirty nine years dedicated to following god does not equate to 'reading a cookbook' you stupid, stupid, stupid person. You are a typical christian by name but not by nature.
@tony9L9L, "For my thoughts [are] not your thoughts, neither [are] your ways my ways, saith the LORD." Isaiah 55:8. KJV. If you want to know why GOD does what He does just ask Him. But ask Him in respect and awe and humility in prayer, since you are not in a position to either understand or judge your creator.
@keeperoftheforest I read my bible for thirty nine years. I spoke with God. He said " I am the voice in your head. The powerful sense of conviction you feel in your heart comes from you and the voice in your head also comes from you. Isn't that great?!"
I said to God "Lord, do you mean I'm talking to myself?" and the Lord said "YES! Isn't that great?!"
Then I said "Does that mean that all these years I've been doing good deeds was because I am full of goodness?"
as a men it is a shame and sad to see how the world view and treat women. The sexualisation of society using the technology that avail today. It is unbiblical.
In Affectionate Love, the Food [Bread] of Life, is Yâhuwshúa` [ יָהוּשֻׁעַ ], Yâ-hwéh's Word [Disclosure/Rev 19:13], Yâ-hwéh [ יָהְוֶה ] in Person. @lalamusa1 You are the one who is lying and should read his bible. Lev 19:20 does NOT say that the man should not be punished. Rather it gives instructions of exactly how he should be punished. It simply says that he should not be put to death. Deut 22:24 They are both put to death because they both committed adultery, it says nothing about rape it is speaking of consensual sex. v 25 speaks of rape and it says that the woman should NOT be punished.
@lala You're strange. You clearly have some degree of mental ability, yet (it seems purposefully) you don't think about the things you say. Let me explain in 2 ways. You aren't an idiot. Didn't you read the entire verse and think why? Also, Jesus said "the laws are meant to HELP you, not harm you".
@lalamusa1 Lev. 19:20. WRONG, they're BOTH to be punshied, but not with death.
Deut 22:24 WRONG....This is saying if a man has sex with a betrothed woman (both by will), they're both to be put to death. Verses 25-27 talk about rape and in that case ONLY the man is put to death.

This going to change really soon when the Muslims take over Europe and America. Women will be subjugated and then they will know true slavery. Many women in America have tons of freedoms and don't experience sexual discrimination in mainstream society or ever.
@MetaSensuality1983 But doesn't the Bible say that women should also be subject to her own husband, and learn in silence and full submission? You know you're sexist when you have to compare your own religion with the most fundamentalist, radical form of Islam to look good.
@jeffmaraman1 It does teach that, but not in a 'superior/inferior' way, but out of mutual love for one another as 'equals' made in the image of God. The commands for submissiveness and headship come with guidelines to explain what it means to be submissive or to have headship, and they are very loving. I recommend to anyone who wants to learn what the Bible teaches about this topic to read the Book ' Evangelical Feminism and Biblical Truth ' by Wayne Grudem.

I know God isn't anti-woman, but there are also plenty of OT passages that do demean women -- and I'm referring to those specifically which God Himself imputed in His stipulations. It really is no wonder the Jews got it wrong.
All I'm saying is that it is not true that wherever the Gospel is spread and holds sway men treat women with respect. It's just not true, and I don't think Christians can take the credit for equality of women in the West.
@ThusFar777 Read the New Testament, in particular the pastoral epistles (first and second Timothy, and Titus). You'll find plenty of passages that demean women. In fact, it clearly states that women are not even supposed to speak in church, let alone teach.
"The word and works of God is quite clear, that women were made either to be wives or prostitutes." Works 12.94
"Even though they grow weary and wear themselves out with child-bearing, it does not matter; let them go on bearing children till they die, that is what they are there for." Works 20.84
I could quote others from Reformist leader Martin Luther. How about JP himself, and others from his DG conferences who've said things like, "Don't get me wrong, I love my daughter, but there is just nothing like having a son and I like women. I have one of my ownmuahahahaha
or even worse, If its not requiring her to sin (submission to husband) but simply hurting her, then I think she endures verbal abuse for a season, and she endures perhaps being smacked one night, and then she seeks help from the church.
Should I quote Mark Driscoll? "it is a womans duty to get married and have children and Women will be saved by going back to that role that God has chosen for them. Ladies, if the hair on the back of your neck stands up it is because you are fighting your role in the scripture. Some, like Driscoll, have gone so far as to dangerously and ignorantly preach to their congregations things like, Ladies, let me assure you of this: if you think you're being dirty, he's pretty happy...
Jesus Christ COMMANDS you to do this" and obligatory acts wives must do if this is what satisfies their husbands, regardless of the wife's own desire or conscience."
Did you even listen to the first 5 minutes? That's not that Piper said. Good grief man! Calm down, breath deeply through a paper bag, get a wet cloth for your head *eye roll*
Piper is a Liar!!! The Pharisees didn't hate women, in Jewish Law it is forbidden for a male or female to have physical contact with one another. Even today, Rabbis are NEVER in the presence alone with a women. This is what happens when you are ignorant, you make up lies and show Jews to be monsters when in fact, your an ignoramus. Then he quotes a killer to make an analogy? Sadistic person Mr. Piper!
Unlike in Christianity, women in Judaism are on a higher spiritual level then men.
@EvertonFan28 Then I guess Judaism is wrong even still. Neither women nor men were created higher than the other. Neither woman nor man can reach a higher level than the other.
We are one creature, species, race. We are two versions of the same 'beings'. Male and Female. Men don't naturally nurse infants after birth and Women don't inseminate the egg. We simply are different yet complimentary. Don't take it as a personal attack because the culture you cherish is flawed. Relax. It's not the-
@EvertonFan28 --only time and it isn't the last time it's been done. Women were not treated fairly and I've read that many many times before. In my desire to know of the background and culture that the Bible was written in, to compare what was written to see if it were at all compatible with known reality of the times. And it was. Women were treated the way they were because of Men's insatiable desires and their fear of inability to contain them. Put the woman away and those feelings subside.
@EvertonFan28 --But even that is too simple a statement to make. That it is just about the wandering eye. There's a latent disrespect for the female gender because of what Eve did. Eve is blamed as the one who caused the fall of man but it wasn't her alone. Adam may have accepted the sin she offered, but even though he was standing right at her elbow when the serpent tempted her, he did nothing to intervene and save her from Falling. So what was the first sin? Eve's acceptance or Adam's apathy?
we should deal with sin and help and pray for things to get better. We should be loving and forgiving, and show Grace and Mercy because we had so much Grace and Mercy given to us from God. We are all equal. We each have our unique individuality everyone of ushas a uniqueness that make us special. But NO ONE is better then anyone else!! We should never look down on someone because of how they look, or where they are from or what gender they are. I pray that God would help us in these areas.
that is to say be more loving, caring, developing our character, and being willing to go that extra mile to help someone. We should be willing to help one another in our weaknesses, not criticize or judge one another. We should not judge superficially or shallowly others over things like looks, material status those types of things, because God made everyone special and we should accept one another for however they are, but also be willing to correct others who are constantly sinning.....
Fellow Christians, please lets all try not to argue and have angry thoughts and hurt others by our slander or gossip or otherwise. It's a sad and scary world we live in, and I will admit it hurts me so much when I see or hear some people who say they are Christians slander and gossip and cheat and put down others like it's no big deal. Many can be shallow, superficial, uncaring and unloving, prejudiced as opposed to being kind, springs of love flowing outward to people. We should act like Christ
Amen my friend. I agree with you. We need to let God develop the fruits of the spirit in us and always love one another. Edify and support each other. The reason people hate God is because they see us Christians tearing each other apart...if we were to love more they would say, I WANT THAT GOD!
Yet Jesus entrusted women with the news of his resurrection in a day when women's testimony in court was virtually worthless according to the gospels, John is the only apostle that witnessed the crucifixtion, and yet all four gospels testify to women "disciples" (see the greek) who stay with Jesus at the cross, which is perhaps why Jesus entrusted them first with the news of his resurrection. Those who often witness the deepest sorrows of Christ experience His deepest joys
Luke 6;13When morning came, he called his disciples to him and chose twelve of them, whom he also designated apostles: 14Simon (whom he named Peter), his brother Andrew, James, John, Philip, Bartholomew, 15Matthew, Thomas, James son of Alphaeus, Simon who was called the Zealot, 16Judas son of James, and Judas Iscariot, who became a traitor.
Then why were there many women prophetess in the bible? "There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is NEITHER MALE NOR FEMALE: for ye are all one in Jesus Christ" Gal 3:28 No doubt still some foolish fellows and silly women, but we are "new creatures" in Christ!
Paul wrote galatians... and he certainly prescribed different roles for men and women in his other writings(1Tim2:12). So either Paul was in error in all of his writings except Galatians or the verse you've just quoted doesn't mean what you think it means.
1 Timothy 2 11A woman should learn in quietness and full submission. 12I do not permit a woman to teach or to have authority over a man; she must be silent. 13For Adam was formed first, then Eve. 14And Adam was not the one deceived; it was the woman who was deceived and became a sinner. 15But women[a] will be saved[b] through childbearing—if they continue in faith, love and holiness with propriety.
In our culture nowadays, the misconception that Christians and Christianity treat women poorly is way too prevalent. In reality, like you've said, it's Christianity that has LIBERATED women.
Praise the Lord for creating both male and female to be both of equal worth!!
Amazing message. I am so blessed to now have a husband who loves me like Christ loves! My first husband was very abusive!I am moved to tears over how other woman are treated! I understand and pray for them daily!
"Husbands, love your wives, as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her, that he might sanctify her, having cleansed her by the washing of water with the word, so that he might present the church to himself in splendor, without spot or wrinkle or any such thing, that she might be holy and without blemish. In the same way husbands should love their wives as their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself" (Eph 5:25-29)

We should act like Christ

xhemexx,
Amen my friend. I agree with you. We need to let God develop the fruits of the spirit in us and always love one another. Edify and support each other. The reason people hate God is because they see us Christians tearing each other apart...if we were to love more they would say, I WANT THAT GOD!

Even though Jesus spoke to Women, He did not appoint any Women to be disciples, or teachers/pastors

Thank you Dr. Piper for putting this together!
In our culture nowadays, the misconception that Christians and Christianity treat women poorly is way too prevalent. In reality, like you've said, it's Christianity that has LIBERATED women.
Praise the Lord for creating both male and female to be both of equal worth!!
