I got one of these. I'd love to figure out how to access the BIOS. I want to install a different OS but haven't been able too get in there. It's not the typical Del or F2. key.
The Netbook is a prowerful machine i used with good parts i have one and i run up to 6 Things at once i can watch HD movies and all i bought a netbook and upgraded the ram and i put in a 32gb sd card and i use a external hardrive unshure if processor is change able but i herd some are. i love the speed of the machine and its so small i can put it in my overals and it's so easy to carry and i can use it with just one hand.
These are now under £50 ($80) of course there is the usual initial stiff market markup. Rather than colours, etc its best to talk about ... will it do ... YouTube (some) ... Skype (yes for 6.0) .... MSN (yes) ... Live TV (no except low res) . Do not expect full laptop performance but will suit most peoples needs, wifi works well and if single tasked it is quick amazingly so for 266 Mhz.

It's cheap because it runs windows CE, not Windows. As far as booting, most windows mobile and CE devices are on instantly. There is no boot time. You can only install windows Mobile applications on it. On these video reviews I'm yet to see them stream video or play any movie files. I'd like to see that before buying one.

ActiveSync connection is supposed to be possible on these CE 5 netbooks, but I've yet to see how. I just install programs manually, extracting CAB files on my PC with MSCEInf when necessary.

Also, if you've done any research on Pentium 1, it is 166Mhz while this netbook is an ARM9 with 300mhz that can be overclocked to 600mhz with no problems.

Actually we agree here, there IS a place for a Windows CE netbook/laptop. If you're going to buy this one though, making a boot card is ESSENTIAL. I've been using Windows CE for ten years and love its approach, even if minimalist (in fact partly because it is minimalist)

It's cheap because it runs windows CE, not Windows. As far as booting, most windows mobile and CE devices are on instantly. There is no boot time. You can only install windows Mobile applications on it. On these video reviews I'm yet to see them stream video or play any movie files. I'd like to see that before buying one.

could it run NES/SNES/N64/SEGA emulators directly from a 8 gb usb stick (so de laptop doesn't go slow, with it 2 gb hard drive)? I am very interested in this. Saw one for 79 euro.
If yes, i will buy it. Just want to know if its possible. Has anyone experience with emulators on this laptop.

Hey, I just got a nes emulator to work on mine along with TONS of other software.
Someone posted an entire collection of his windows ce software and dam he has a lot. I never thought windows ce could have this much cool software.

I just bought on off of ebay for 83 dollars.
It's really handy, though it obviously cant do as much as a normal laptop.
It's so small, but the best part about it is.
IT WONT BREAK FROM FALLS! Woot!!!
since, it uses an SSD + it has very long battery life.

ActiveSync connection is supposed to be possible on these CE 5 netbooks, but I've yet to see how. I just install programs manually, extracting CAB files on my PC with MSCEInf when necessary.

All I hear is people calling this laptop a piece of shit because they're used to the power of the 500+ dollar 15 inch laptops.
It annoys me how these people can't understand just how overwhelmingly useful this cheap netbook is. It may have little memory, but it doesn't need more to do what it has been made to do, which is basic office apps, internet browsing, youtube, etc.
I love this product, I would rather have this than a expensive cus cheap is oftn VERY DURABLE/LITE

Your cell phone there is just like your laptop, a computer. The only difference is power and OS platform, but it doesnt matter how strong this computer is, 1000ghz or 300mhz, There are just so many CE Applications.
So why does it matter if it is weaker than your phone? Phones nowadays arn't exactly weak. Their processors are stronger than the desktops of the 199X.

It comes with youtube software called Youtube 1.6.
Also. Windows CE IS Windows 95 Modified. It was origionally built using a lot of code from Windows 95.

Also, if you've done any research on Pentium 1, it is 166Mhz while this netbook is an ARM9 with 300mhz that can be overclocked to 600mhz with no problems.
So, technically, you are the one decieving the others.
Pentium 1 is 2 - 4 times WEAKER than ARM9

It IS the best deal.
You can even play youtube videos on it with the built in software. Then you got word, excell, power point, pdf reader, msn chat, and tons more.
What more do you need. Sure you can't play any good games on it, but that defeats the purpose of having a tiny mobile pc.

@WatchCharmedOnline Bullshit, a 244Mhz ARM processor can not handle flash or even video at its native resolution. The most useful thing it could do its be a IRC or SSH client viewer because it only deals with text.

typo. It's 300mhz. And 300 mhz is way enough to handle basic flash videos. Sometimes it's slow, but on most videos it works fine.
Why I say so? Because I HAVE a lvl 300mhz desktop that runs xp with installed flash.

I've used computers sinc theyre were just 100mhz (The desktop ones) and that's saying something.
and I am able to compare just how much power is needed to run nearly everything! 300 mhz is ENOUGH FOR MOST YOUTUBE VIDEOS.
What's more is that windows ce uses nearly no rescourses so it helps make up for the crap arm processor.
I've seem people run youtube, it's OK!

I'm guessing you are a gamer, but for a normal person. This has everything you need. I bought one off of ebay, and I am very happy with it.
I carry it around with me on my school bus, to restaurants, etc and it is very handy, especially when i can just fit it in my coat pocket.

Actually we agree here, there IS a place for a Windows CE netbook/laptop. If you're going to buy this one though, making a boot card is ESSENTIAL. I've been using Windows CE for ten years and love its approach, even if minimalist (in fact partly because it is minimalist)

What you and All other critics have to realize is that the people who buys this don't need power. We already have one at our home.
There's no need to buy a 200-300 dollar netbook when all you need is the internet and basic Office tools which comes with these 50-100 dollar netbooks.
Getting a 200-300 dollar netbook is a waste of money. Not to mension that they use moving Hard Drives which VERY easilly breaks.

And unlike a 200-300 dollar netbook you can't upgrade the OS to XP or above because of the P.O.S. ARM CPU in it. Also what you said about moving platter HD's is completely untrue, they are just as reliable as there NAND counterparts, which brings me to this "things" HD in general, its most likely using a USB memory equivalent as a HD, complete shit.
