The difference is the head hit the concrete wall. INDYCAR was concerned about this type of crash when the new Dallara chassis started development, and a rear bumper was added. This, the 1992 Japanese F3000 fatal at Suzuka, the 1996 CART fatal at Toronto, and the 2011 INDYCAR fatal at Las Vegas had heads hitting a fixed barrier (concrete or fence post). The extension of the airbox past the driver's head is likely the next idea.
That is the most usual fatal racing crash I have ever seen in my life. Had that car been a few inches lower while upside down, I don't think we'd be seeing this video on Youtube, it would be on DocumentingReality or that other site. Why? Because his head would be crushed and that's something YouTube won't allow. RIP mate.
@KBChronicler1 Nope, it aint funny at all, what is funny is how retarded you have to be to find death funny, lol, people like you make me laugh, fucking weirdoXD.
@textthing You would have to come get me first. And I bet you are just some fucking bitch who complains but never does shit about it. Texting is gay by the way...
Sad, all race car drivers know the dangers of their sport, from MOTO GP, to F1, to NASCAR, jet full drag racing, all those sports have their share of fatalities, uprising that does not happen as often. Was watching the Leans thus year and there was this horrific crash where the ferrari driver " rookie" cut into the Saudi drivers lane for no reason and almost killed the guy. I think more seasoned drivers is a must in MOTO racing.
This race was aired live in Brazil and... watching Senna's death in 1994 and Campos's in 1995 was so hard. Last race of the season, last lap, battle for a non-scoring position... and then such a crash. RIP Marco
In the places we less expect things like this happen. F1 is or was running here. That wall is still there unprotected, and, although this type of accidents are rare, bad luck happens, and the walls do not help at all. Racing is dangerous. And this can happen when we less expect. Hope it doesn´t though.
EJ Viso had accident in another place at Magny Course. His crash was also different . In the end his head did not hit the wall. Here Campos head was smashed on the wall.
at 0:05 you see his head hit conctete, that's why he died

Terrible driving from Biagi. He is driving diagonally in the braking zone and braked early

Was he any family to Adrian Campos who drove in F1 during the 80's for Minardi ?

@bennimag2 They were not related.

In 2007 Ernesto Viso luckely survived a similar crash at Magny Cours. They should have placed higher fences at some places on the track.

I believe this happened in 1994 or 1995. It was the old F3000 series, which is now known as GP2.

Oops, hit his head on the wall.
Not as bad as Gordon Smiley but bad enough anyway.
RIP.

@jimmywrangles More like Scott Brayton than Gordon Smiley. Either way, it's a racer who left far too soon.
