  • I saw this dude in Harvard Sq with RL, wild man

  • Like this version a lot. Sounds like Cream backing him up or something. Rock beat good for this song.

  • Damn this dude is quite good. OK...he's REAL good. Great groove with some funk thrown in. Thanks for posting.

  • Saw his last show @ Red Room Jacktown, MS

  • I got to sit and have a beer with him when I was 21 at a tiny shit hole of a bar just outside of Nashville. One of the coolest moments of my life. One hell of a show. I paid $3 to get in. BB King and Buddy Guy just played at the Ryman and the Tickets were $85 a pop. I'll take Paul Wine Jones anyday.

  • Amen

  • estos es un documento invaluable para fanáticos como yo que no hemos tenido la oprtunidad de ver actuar a un blusero de verdad

    thanks a lot !!

  • Saw "Wine" at the old HOB in Cambridge MA with R.L. and Corey Harris. Thanks for posting this!!!

  • Anyone konw what tuning/key this in? I see a capo up pretty high.

  • What does he say at the beginning? Something about 'church'?

Does anyone know where the entire set is available from?

    Fuck it up!

  • Paul Wine was the guy who taught me how to play blues. I knew him well. We were from the same little town, Belzoni, MS. I really miss playin with him.

  • Love this guy. Dead funky. That wah-wah pedal!

Got both his albums - Mule and Pucker Up Buttercup. Both brilliant, but Mule has better track selection.

  • I don't know who is playing with him, but it changes his sound. I like the sound he has on MULE better with Sam Carr on drums. This is more rock than his style of blues. Listen to Bill Abel, his protege and a great player who continues with Paul's songs. There are some youtube videos with Bill...

    cheers

    BERT

  • Love Bill's music. You can definitely hear Paul's influence!

  • @bdeivert

All music would be better with Sam Carr on drums. He's only about the greatest delta blues drummer to ever live. Sadly never going to get the recognition of guitarist/singers of the genra... sort of like Robert Nighthawk or Earl Hooker in that regard - they played rhythm/backed so many greats in studio and on the road.

  • this is rockin'

  • This great--the only thing it leaves to be desired is subtitles so we can follow the lyrics better. That is something most music videos would benefit from immensely.

  • thanks for that. i saw this guy years ago at Manny's Car Wash, NYC. He opened for RL. He rocked the place

  • Being a blues fan for 40 years I must admit I never heard of this performer. Love that groove.

  • Fantastic - great music - no modern bullshit ! THX for posting !

  • this Style of Mississippi Blues is where funk comes from!

  • kdwilent; Yes, it's so true. All modern music somehow will have to return to this in order to be real again. Thank you for posting this one. Somewhere Robert Palmer is smiling.
