HELP PLEASE! Well I want to take my 98 Blazer to get either re-painted(glossy red) or painted a metallic red. I hear a lot of how poor the jobs are unless you pay them top dollar. Well im willing to pay, how do I tell them I want it to look as if it was brand new of tha factory finish? (Yes its a little beat up)
Do you happen to know where the tool for removing the hubcaps is stored in the buick? I have the same car, and I bet the tool came with the car but where is it kept?
Hey, I got a Maroon 1997 Explorer, I want to paint it Black. What should I tell Maaco? I want a different color or tell them to give me ther most expensive job?
@NikeAirsCrispTees First you want to let Maaco know about any damage you may have on the Explorer that you want fixed, Like deep scratches, rust ets.. otherwise they will paint over it. Only get the most expensive two stage paint job if your planning on keeping the Explorer for more than a year. I had the mid range paint job and it still shines after being outside for a year. But with a cheper paint job any tree sap or bird droppings can stain the paint, like they did on my car!
@normanowns0613 Yes definately do the prep work youself, or if you are unable then make sure you let them know otherwise they will paint right over any damage or imprefection it may have on body like rust, deep scratches dents and in my case a little peeling paint that should of been sanded down. ( I show the imprefection in video)
@4x4trucking How is the paint job holding up? Are you still satisfied? My car goes in this Wednesday to a Maaco near me. I'm just trying to enquire some information before it goes in. Thank you.
@myvidstv1 The paint is still holding up nice considering its been outside for about a year now. There are a few blemishes where bird poop and tree sap had stained the very delicate single stage paint job. For the money your car will look good and if you can take care of the paint (regular washing etc..) and do all prep work yourself it will last, besides they warranty the paint for 2 years for peeling cracking and fading.
@4x4trucking Hey dude I got a 96 Regal and I'm looking for a astray door for the center console, do you know of any places or websites that sell used parts?
@gilldoom Yea actually I do there is a junkyard in Warwick NY called Specks that I got some chrome trim from for my Buick. They have tons of older cars. So just google the name and give them a call they may just have what your looking for.
@animeindoorsir The paint is doing good still has a nice deep shine, made it throgh the rought salt winter we had this year. Its going to a be a year in a few month. I did have a good base since the original factory paint was not peeling or craking just scrathed and faded in some spots.
bro, why you investing so much money and effort in a crappy old man's car? and not even a cool old man's car like a Caddy, Lincold Towncar, Riviera or something like that, this model was already tacky and corny the first day it came out. Not trying to hate on you, just kinda mesmerized and wondering why you would put so much effort toward this kinda car.
@4x4trucking oh its all good, man. I was just givin you a hard time. Its a nice looking car, and that kind of car always has a pretty nice, comfy interior. And it always feels good to make something look good again.
I know its a maaco job, but is it the presidential, ambassador....? Also how much did the paint job cost? I have a camaro with all body work done and in primer i need painted by late april. Looking for a year or two paint job would u recommend maaco? Thanks for ur time. - kevin
@copper232 This is I believe is the presidential paint job with a two year warranty against cracking chipping or fadding. It cost me around $570 with the dent removal and new pin-striping. The paint itself is not 100% show room quality its a single stage with the clear coat mixed in. There is a lot of orange peeal but I don't really notice it that much even in daylight. It does have a lot of nice shine and it looks great on a 16 year old car.
@copper232 Another thing I did not like is the amount of oversparay they got on the inside of the wheel wells, my muffler was red and I had a few paint runs on the bottom rockers. Only took them three days to do it which was fast. I am not complaining too much it was cheap and it looks good. I wil be going back for some rust repaire and new chrome trim rings to be added to the car. I would recomend them if your on a budget not planning to keep the car long and dont expect perfection. Thanks
How much did that level of Pain Work cost? It looks good enough if you got a good deal.

This car is pretty nice, don't listen to those fucks in the comments section making fun of it. They probably take the bus or drive a Geo Metro.
