guys here's a little update for you

there's an event called G star 2011 in Pusan, Korea, where they will be having trial versions of the games set up for people to play

they have also announced that the closed beta will start soon after the event

@againsttagrane Every fantasy game has been inspired by LOTR. The plot is different though and there's a lot of heavy stuff on religion and politics. The orcs look different too and have an entirely different culture from the orcs in LOTR. Same with the elves, dwarves and oh, vampires (which weren't in LOTR).

@LynxPilot013 this is a good game!!! ive also played kuf crusaders and heroes. you can move and control you player while engaged. it is has rpg elements, your unit and other units can use magic, has a skill tree unit and can buy weapons and armor for yourself, your officers and your units. get it, you won't be dissapointed! :D

Looks pretty damn amazing. I hope they're really able to pull this off well.

It worries me a bit that they don't show a single instance of a player moving from one combat engagement to another. It always cuts the shot. I hope this doesn't mean that they're going to have to nerf the gameplay mechanics somehow and make the game blow, just to hit a target players in server stat.

Not saying that's going to happen, just that it would suck if it did.

That's because this is a just s pre rendered hype up video that was made to look real time.

Expect the graphics to be heavily watered down to cater to a wider audience and the amount of soldiers per map to be far less.

Someday games will perform this well tho = )

lol, I remember playing the very first kuf (a war of heroes) back in the old days. Imagine my surprise when I suddenly remembered about the game after 8 years and stumbled upon this video :D

It's rather mind blowing how much the franchise has changed between then and now. And although the first kuf (which I really liked) and this one have almost nothing in common, it does indeed look quite promising. So yeah, definitely going to check this one out.

People who see this trailer will think one thing: LOTR. It's yet another cheesy ripoff from the LOTR concept. Orks, Trolls, even mumakills(the big elephants).

I've got a feeling this game will fail terrible. It's gonna be one of those hack 'n slash games which are fairly easy when u get the hang of it. Probably hardly any storyline to it. just kill hundreds even thousands of orks and trolls who all look the same. and occasionally a elephant on roids.. aint gonna work.

Second, if you read the description and look anywhere online, the game is coming to PC and consoles. Like I said before, the 360 could handle this game, but with a high visual cost, like all other console games. Call of Duty doesn't look as good on the 360 than on the PC, but the xbox still handles it flawlessly. Personally I can't stand consoles, so I game on the PC.

Actually its not. The game/story bares very little resemblance to LOTR, and is mainly about strategy/tactics during a battle. There is third-person combat, and an easy to use interface which allows you to issue orders to your units. The # of types of units & the scale of battles really allow the player to make choices which can result in victory or getting his ass kicked.

I highly doubt I would see anything with that much depth in a LOTR game.

Extended; you're forced to use certain types of units, unlike games like 99 Nights where the armies are just cosmetic and you're essentially a button mashing one-man army.

The gameplay is very exhilerating, and feels rewarding when you come out ontop know you've made the right split-second decisions.
