  • man honestly it was hard listening to them speak Gaelic. I respect the language/history but it sounds like they have a large rag shoved deep in their mouths.

  • Good insight into the bike courier

  • Good on ya Robbie, looking good. Celia

  • ah, i was lookin forward to watchin this before i heard it in irish :O do a dub over, lol

  • Lol! did anyone else notice the Esat Digifone shop at 06:00? Ah, the good old days!

  • I was a bicycle/motorcycle courier in Dublin for 4 years in the mid/late 90's...fairly memorable time for me...never a dull moment!

  • interesting, not an easy job to do anywhere in the world. and not in Dublin with pot holes, rain, and small narrow streets.

  • nice to see other bike messengers in the other parts of the country...BUT !!!! nothing beats the personality of a NU Yawker and a LA bike messenger...they rock w/ their fixies...........!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Fun looking, but nothing to American city traffic.

  • ...this is not an accurate representation of dublin traffic..dublin has one of the worst rush hours in the western world..I knew a courier who preffered los angeles traffic to dublin traffic!

  • fairplay to the two lads for making a lot of effort, on many levels: in comparison to their counterpart who .............!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Thank you Chelsea Girl. These guys above are real drama queens aren't they?

  • why is this a mystery? the documentary was made for TG4, an irish-language channel, so they asked the couriers to speak irish altho they are bilingual.

  • stcywll: You must come from the USA to believe English is the first language, right?

  • why does the guy on the radio speak english?why do they speak english to their customers?

  • from the CIA world factbook;Languages:

English (official) is the language generally used, Irish (official) (Gaelic or Gaeilge) spoken mainly in areas located along the western seaboard

  • I don't think the CIA will teach foreign people what language they want to speak... it's maybe quite difficult to understand for a non european but here we have a lot of other languages than national ones which are still very spoken.

  • ..english is the first language, in reality the irish language is seen as a hobby more than a necessity these days...

  • How come some of those guys are speaking Irish. Isn't English the first language ? Does evrybody speak Irish? Are they country boys?

  • damn you are too stupid

  • fu,why does the guy on the radio speak english?why do they speak english to their customers?

  • Dear god. Irish isn't some archaic language only spoken by 'country boys'.

  • English is predominantly spoken, especially in everyday speech. But most people have a pretty good level of Irish too. The reason the couriers are speaking in Irish to the camera is because this documentary was made by an Irish language television station.
