for hunting dogs is there a preference in color for labs? I mean are black labs better at it than a yellow lab or are they the same, i know there is training involved and such but does anyone prefer one over the other?

Any suggestions on how to make my golden retriever a little "birdier" or how to train her nose a little better? Or is this something that is mostly just bred into them?
