Just a sugestion. I ride in a Billy Cook saddle. They are built sturdy and look beautiful. They come in like barrel saddle, barrel/trail saddle, etc. Just a sugestions.
but doesent it scare u they hurt their legs. i mean when i ride (not barrels) i only put normal boots in front, if i do barrel or reinning i put full set of boots (back and front with belle boots).. im just curious rly dont take this the wrong way i just dint know it wus okay to do that.
Well there really aren't "rules" lol, some people just prefer to and others don't. If it's a younger horse I'm riding I'll put boots on 'em, but it doesn't really bother me if my barrel horse doesn't have leg boots on. A horse is just as likely to hurt something with boots as it is without, in my opinion. My horse actually had better runs without them I found. When he stretched out on the way home he sometimes clipped himself so bell boots were needed. But he's sold. Training a new one now lol.
My mare never liked them, so we're training without them. I'll put some bells on her fronts, but I don't use the SMB boots or anything. If she learns where to put her feet now, she won't need boots, bc she'll know where her feet are.
I see, I see. I do the same. Just bell boots. I don't feel the need to have other boots, like I said, unless it's a young horse. I always put them on my two year olds. Just helps them pay attention to their feet, supports them if they're a little smaller bodied, and protects them from some scratches and such. You know?
@jayjaymar17 i like to keep them on my standardbred mostly when i ride and hes in the feild. i do enjoy splint boots on him to, they make me feel better when hes pacing. it worrys me that hes goin to his his shin.
Well as far as standardbreds (&some other breeds) go, I'm pretty much useless, lol. I don't know much about them, therefore kinda no opinion. But, yeah, I'd say whatever people feel most comfortable with, just do it that way. Nothing wrong with riding either way. Well, unless a horse really NEEDS boots. For example, if a horse overreaches I would say bell boots are a MUST, so he/she doesn't get hurt. Know what I mean?
@jayjaymar17 ive had a horse a few years ago, when he was racing he had a stray nail that the faierr didnt cut off, and it cut his tendon, so im always using bell boots and splint boots on my race horses no matter what. i think that scared everyone.
why are these people in this video so stankin' slow?????!!!!!! they suck!!!

@jayjaymar17 FINALLY someone says you don't HAVE to have boots on a horse!! they're more clumsy WITH boots in my experience

i think its important to do same distance around, and stopping at your x's so your horse learns how to rate... which wasnt done here i dont think.
