That doesn't matter on what difficulty you finish game. it depends on your torture. If you give up- Otacons goes with you and you get stealth, but if you don't give up, Meryl will be with you at the ending, and you get infinity bandana

The reason liquid deflected fox and turned agenst them was becuase when he and snake were created Liquid got all the bad genes where snake got all the good genes ..

And eva didnt die from FOXDIE, Eva died in the arms of snake because she burned to death trying to save the body of BIG BOSS from a fire ... which wasnt even BIG BOSS'S body it was solidus!

And BIG BOSS died cause he has the same DNA code as snake and FOXDIE killed him!

Snake was injected with it on shadow moses, it killed liquid because he has the same DNA code as the boss since liquid and snake are clones of the boss.

The real Darpa cheif was killed by decoy otopus when he was torturing him for the lauch code .. His body was the one in the cell when shake got captured....

basically FOXDIE is a virus that Naomi gave to snake it killed anyone he came in contact with to cover up shadow moses but in the end it confused snake with liquid since they're both clones

But Drebin injected Snake a new version of FOXDIE which was used to kill off Eva, Ocelot and Big Boss. It as a result destroyed the old FOXDIE and formed the new.

FOXDIE was a virus designed to attack ONLY the members of FOXHOUND (and a few others like Baker), hence the name. Naomi altered it just prior to injecting Snake. Now mutated and it ages Snake rapidly. Drebin's version is used in the same way with different targets selected. Eventually the new FOXDIE will mutate too, which is one reason Snake ended MGS4 the way he did.

However Naomi injected snake with Foxdie and according to Liquid Snake, snake was supposed to unknowingly expose everyone in the base to Foxdie. Since everyone in the base was of the Genome Army, derived from Big Boss's DNA (Snakes father whom you played in MGS3) it would kill them too.

Metal Gear's Ac!d 1 and 2 are spin off's. And Peace walker is unknown (as to when it took place.) and Rising will take place either before or after MGS4 I'm betting before. (GameBoy's version is also a spin off)

To everyone who is confused... in the ending with Meryl, she and Otacon both survive. The nuke gets called off and Snake tells The Colonel to bring in Otacon. That's how Otacon is in MGS2 and Meryl in MGS4.

You know the scene in MGS4 where Old Snake is in Eastern Europe. He explains he looks younger to Meryl because of his facecamo, and moments later, it deactivates to reveal his normal, old face. Shouldn't the facecamo return to the skullcap/ basaclava form instead of his old face, seeing as he is wearing it.
