Good photojournalism -- you should enhance the sound and put together a documentary. I'm on the east coast and am watching the whole situation unfold with horrified fascination. We had a historic cemetery destroyed here in 1972, but it was by a natural disaster, not greed. How can people be so disgustingly greedy they would desecrate graves? My thoughts and prayers go out to the people with loved ones in Burr Oak. I can't imagine how awful it must be to have to go through all this.

I know I have atleast 5 members of my family there. I was told that my grandmothers plot was fine but my grandfathers and other family members plots are on another side that is currently blocked off by crime tape so my uncle couldn't see them. We have to wait and see.

The gentleman you interviewed at the end, as nice & thoughtful as he was, was incorrect in labeling this crime an act of vandalism. A bunch of drunken teens dashing through a cemetery on Halloween night kicking over headstones as they go is an act of vandalism. This crime was infinitely worse. These graves were deliberately desecrated for profit as part of a criminal conspiracy - a Class X felony in Illinois, punishable by 6-30 years in prison. I hope all those responsible get the max.

They ought to turn them over to the familys that they dug up,the same thing pretty much happened in north ga where another black funeral home owner was throwing bodies in ponds and old cars and was giving people concrete in boxes when he was supposed to be cremating them. There should be no way there should be bond for these people turn them over to the people that have sufferd over this.
