"Towards the end of his career?" Uh... come again?
Guess you missed his latest HBO special, his last stint in Vegas, and his ongoing radio show. Dude has never been more popular, unlike Captain Obscure here, who continues living up to his namesake. Well done sir, well done indeed.
Comedy has changed. "Duh" is spoken here signs reside proudly beside the two drink min and $10 cover signs. Dennis has always been a wordsmith. From SOME of the comments scattered below, the vid's clever intent, like Millers comedy, has gleefully skipped over heads. Good jab at the collective's double digit IQ's... just not at Miller.
@Xixxen Also his grandiose wordsmithing so uniquely crafted into his comedy and editorials to the point where its fun, memorable, and entertaining. Not to many comedians wield the shimmering verbosity and humorsoity of Millers quirks.
Dennis has changed. I'm sure you've changed. I listen to his radio show every day, and find him very funny for the audience he's addressing now. I loved him back in the SNL days and in between as well. To each his own, I guess.
in the words of dennis miller " if you got a niche, scratch it."
i love how people can jump on dennis for being dennis. cut d bone some slack. at the end of the day he has to be happy with dennis. if no on e liked his comedy, he wouldnt have a job. so obviously someone out there is listening and liking it.
You are perceptive. I like the way you organize your brain. This is some smoldering, edgy comedy in the vein of Bill Hicks without stealing his act. Do you ever do stand-up shows? I have developed an act myself but have since lost interest in my comedy to focus on hardcore philosophy. You should get a ten minute act together and post it. It would be good because 'you' are good at this.
hey lady, how much do they pay you to fuck that bear? Good video by the way. The last I saw of Dennis Miller he was hamming it up on that Bordello of Blood shitfest that was released under the Tales from the Crypt banner
Actually the rooster died a couple years ago, right after the hen got attacked by an owl. And he wasn't really that big. He was about average size...maybe even a little smaller.
I used to think Dennis Miller was genius, but somewhere along the line he started to believe his own hype. A few years ago, he decided that he was a republican. Just like that, no shades of gray here, just a republican. Suddenly that's what his humor turned into. I'm convinced he did that just to get his own. Oh yeah, AND he had a monkey on his show. A freakin' monkey. His 1-800-CALL-COLLECT commercials were totally pwned by Paul Reiser anyway.
Yeah, Dennis Miller used to be hilarious. Now he's just arrogant and irritating.
Another person I discovered was like this is Dwight Yoakum. I was a huge fan of this guy UNTIL I heard him try to have a conversation with someone. OMG! Watching him do an interview is excruciatingly painful. Talk about a "weiner dog with its head up its own ass"!
I feel the same way. And of course it didn't help that he jumped on the Bush bandwagon early on and never jumped off even though it quickly became obvious it had 4 tires flatter than a pre-pubescent Marcia Brady, strayed off course worse than the U.S.S. Minnow, and stunk worse than if Vladimir was Putin underneath the covers all night long.
well this vlog was just all sorts of good. Miller was genius but lost it a while a go for me- he became a parody of himself. He should take a cue from Bill Maher and John Stewart - a little self-deprecating humour goes a long way-! Of course if he hadn't come off as such a right wing wack-o during the last eight years he might have been funnier! LOL
Good point. Comedy needs to be aimed at an audience. No-one likes to be made to feel stupid, so if everyone doesn't get the jokes, it changes from funny to insulting.
I have a related problem with British humour that is based on incredibly specific topical references. "The nursing sister was fine, but then Lord Rotheringham came around to dinner!!" *cue uproars of laughter from audience*
Unlike Miller, you allow comments;)

@johnnycashak I think your right. I detect Miller Envy. Miller also has his radio which his pod cast throughout the iNTERNET.
