  • @4:58...LOL....that bitch punched you right in your shit!

  • I loved this game in the arcade. It always reminded me of that movie Lionheart with Van Dam LOL.

  • Yeah this game was huge when it hit the Arcades because of the ultra violence, the low budget martial arts movie craze, and the photo realistic looking graphics for the time. It also came out when Fighting Games were just about to take over Arcades in the early 90s. It's actually not that great of a game, pretty shallow stuff, but still ahead of its time. Before there was Mortal Kombat, there was Pit Fighter.

The only home version I had was for the Atari Lynx...not so hot.

  • The arcade version is superior compared to the console versions.

  • um yeah the power ups in the arcade are a big help, so "please" yourself there. Grab a power pill and beat the shit out of your opponent if you know what you're doing. Since Pit Fighter is one long ass endurance match with a single life bar it does help. You have to know when to go for the special moves after a few well placed punches and kicks, which is very tricky in this game. Also grabbing barrels and crates and tossing them at enemies at the right time also helps.

  • TY: "AIRGH!"

  • this was the hottest game when it hit arcades. put alot of quarters into this one.

  • I LOL'ed at 6:30

  • if they could find out how to blend this smooth style of grafix with todays 3d we'd be in heaven

  • Would've been more fun to see 3 players =p

  • i love how the audience actually pushes you back out...i think the audience is very interactive too

  • @vegasgilgerat. You love the 4 payer tmnt too, we would have got along just fine lol, I don't think there has ever been an arcade game I was more addicted to than that and the 4-6 player x-men arcade game, both of them was my deal for real

  • I remember being blown away by the graphics. I thought it looked so real. I never got brave enough to step through the crowd of "big people"(middle schoolers) to test my skills.

  • REMEMBER PLAYING THIS ON XBOX CLASSICS. MUSIC WUD TOTALLY FIRE ME UP! PROPER OLD SCHOOL

  • YEAH!

  • I always liked beating up the Roger E. Mosely looking guy in the purple tank top.

"C'mon! Home boy! Put it right here!"

Bonus points if you landed a kick right when he said that last line.

  • doesnt that 2nd dude look like the first scrub van dame fights in lionheart

  • people usually play this game sooooo bad. my cousin was like you fkin win this with just one coin and i win it with 20.

even today people hang the videos where their ass is getting kicked instead of proper playing of this lets be honest-moderately hard game..

  • the SNES is easier? you wish... no items or unlimited specials, yeah, way easier

  • @ryuhi987 The arcade version of ANY game is harder. It's the way arcade games are and why they are called quarter munchers. Oh and ya the items and unlimited specials in the arcade are such a big help, please.

  • is angel a hooker? of course, they choose the least respected of women to be the one female opponent.

  • Wow old skool. I never really bothered playing on this much as was always set to hard. The more damage you did the CPU the hard the CPU got.

  • Your not using the Flying Kick the TY homie. It would help:)

  • Is it just me, or is the final boss of this game patterned after WCW's infamous Black Scorpion? LOL

  • That Gif of Buzz curling the iron was as real as it get in the arcade. Looking back..... WTF? I mean damn technolgy advanced leaps and bounds.

  • reminds me of van damme in kick boxer or blood sport

  • Lol that guy @ 2:04 makes me laugh when he says "Homeboy!!"

  • This needs to be a movie lol. Steve Austin as Buzz, Collin Farrell as Ty, and Jet Li as Kato ... just name dropping so don't go nuts everyone haha

  • @Bru21om Collin Farrell as Ty!?!? No. Just NO! T____T*

Ty's a black guy, not some Hollywood jerk.

  • ha ha that black character look like the guy van damme was fighting on lion heart 1:36

  • wooooow , i was seeking for this game.....now a have the rom thanks to this video.....good remains of childhood!!!!!!

  • The way Angel was KO'ed made me LOL.

    Victory pose punch!

    5:01

  • That was a good game, wasnt very good at it though.

  • Stop coming directly at them, you have to attack at an angle! Love this game, went through a lot of coins with this game back in the day!

  • 21 years ago, I was blown away by (snickers) digitized graphics.

  • I remember this game was next to NARC in this arcade when i was a kid, those two games were so brutal!

This game was super realistic for its day.

  • @VegasBilgeRat NARC was a fun damn game as well. I'm still trying to get the arcade board.

  • @SupremeJudge What do you mean by arcade board? the computer guts? Do you hook up original arcade guts to your computer some how?

I wish i knew how to do that shit lol.

Another arcade game I would love to play again is the TMNT 4-player game. Me and my lil bro played the shit out of that game too.

  • where can i get this game for pc?

  • I think Southside Jim was selling crack on the side.

  • 2:00 ...home boy!

    hahahaha

    the best

  • I laughed when Southside Jim hit him with the box xD

  • @melvoin You're talking about 2 different companies. Atari didn't make Mortal Kombat, Midway did. My reply was towards Atari ports not digitized characters in general. At the time Atari was hyping their Jaguar system so there is no way they would make a great looking port on the SNES, it would just take away from the Jaguar and make the SNES look really good. And yes the SNES was capable of making them look good when done right even though the GPU wasn't designed for it.

  • hasta parece que esta jugando un puto mococso de 5 años no mames estas rewey yo con un credito llego hasta el 7 claro agarrando los poderes para eso son y como no los agarras estas bien wey aprende a jugar mas los clasicos

  • Good times I used to own the fighters by just makin an infinite Combo Punch with Kato (tap controler forward while you hammer all 3 buttons like crazy).

  • man i remember playing this on arcade and on the old amiga computer LOL very long time ago...still an awesome game though

  • "Just Wait" (and see how many quarters you waste trying to beat this game)

  • I love how you turn black and white when you are defeated, LOL!

  • The black guy walked like he was on a pretend bike. Lmao@him

  • Second stage game over music is the best in the game!

  • 4:11 Wicked Knee shot.

  • the Snes version fucking sucked. The Sega version was pretty good. just smaller fighters.

  • hahaha the black guy called you home boy!!!!!

  • The final boss is from the beastmaster

  • This game is hilarious.

  • i didn't realise danny glover is the black guy in the purple shirt!

  • who has the rights to this game now sega ? i dont know why this hasenet come out for the 360 or ps3 it we be awesome if they could remake this game now i would play it agian in a second it was so fun back in the day on sega playing all night with friends

  • The game rules, but player is horrible... lol

  • @metalkbc Easy buddy...lol

  • @metalkbc i would actually rather watch an average player, so you can actually see the whole gameplay.

  • one of the best game ever

  • southside jim looks a compton ass nigga that smokes crack and drinks cheap magnum 40'z hahaha..this games the shit though!!

  • I cant find a working rom of this for mame.Everywhere i looked had Pitfighter roms with errors.

  • they should do digital graphics games like this 4 next gen consoles

  • thats what I have been pushing,,,,games on 3do and sega CD mainly used real actors and environments that blow this gens graphics away....WHy?????Because its real people compared to cartoons or cgi trying to look real........And those real actor games were 15+ years ago......They were cheezy, but implement it with todays tech and would be so real it would be very controversial...

  • if that happens we can finally wear cotton jogging pants casually again!

  • I loved this game, always thought the guy looked like van damme and the other one out of rocky 5.

Awesome, the arcade still looks pretty good!

  • @Jamerio3D

Yep. Kinda strange that these hunkadelics look like other people.

For example, Buzz is a clone of Tommy Gunn from Rocky V.

Ty, who is a Jean Claude Van Damme look-alike.

And Kato, who is Bruce Lee wanna-be.

    Weird.

  • The original Fight Club =)

  • 6:20 rofl

  • TY is the best :D

  • Oh yeah, he's SO GORGEOUS!!!!!<3<3<3<3

  • Needs a remake with digitised textures and moves that break limbs. 18-rated, with online.

  • Noooo a remake would destroy our fond memories of the game

We all know what happens when designers do remakes of classic games.....

  • I know what will happen...

Our memories will be destroyed if they ever tried to do that. :O

  • Heh. True indeed, my friend.

  • In my opinion best playable version of Pit Fighter was the MegaDrive-Genesis one

  • Totally studly

  • this looks way better than the snes one, i guess THQ just did a terrible port - Atari should have just ported it themselves!

  • Even if Atari did the port it would still look like crap since the processor and GPU in the SNES wasn't that great for digitized characters.

  • I remember after school playing this arcade game.

  • Yo, this game was off da' chain! My favorite character was Ty! You're pretty good at this SupremeJudge! Keep em' coming.

  • @SupremeJudge The Atari Lynx Version is Excellent however

  • You got a point there, yo.

Besides, this version is ten times better than those lousy, fucked-up, console versions of Pit Fighter, to tell you the truth.

And...... As for a girl-gamer like me, the only reason why I love Pit Fighter is not just the matches... It's the three shirtless heroic hunks, Buzz, Ty & Kato, but Ty is always the cutest along with Buzz and Kato.<3<3<3

Thank god for Gaming Hunks and thak you, Atari!!!!

  • Consoles back then didn't have the power to look as good as the arcade back then thats why the SNES and Genesis version didn't look as good. just like Street fighter, MK, Killer Instinct ETC they all looked better in the Arcade then they did on home consoles and they even had better background music. when PS1 and Saturn came around then games looked identical to the arcade port cause they were powerful enough and then by the time ps2 and xbox came around games looked better then the arcade.

  • if im not mistaking this was the first game that had me like" WHOA IS THAT REAL" long before Mortal Kombat did it.

  • Double jump kick owns all, but you can cancel the victory pose afterwards by double-tapping left or right. The jump+kick move was also really good.

  • when i was 6, playing it somewhere on arcade the fighters seemed to me like 90s karate b-film characters.

  • Just wait fa sho...inside joke with that quote for years

  • this is kinda of remined me of a older version of def jam fight for ny

  • I had this game for the Snes and I'm sorry but I hated it, good thing it was only 12 euros. :)

  • the arecade one was good but snes one was fuckin terrible

  • the music from match 3 sounds like porn...

  • This game is fun with 3 players.

  • Where do i find more players?

  • online... with kaillera

  • how do you get online with kaillera

  • LOL, the boss of the game goes "GUEST RAPE!" at 3:40

  • I always thought it was Red Grape....lol

  • I think he is saying "Just wait"

  • ur right he says "Just Wait"

  • need to remake 4 ps3

  • Death Rape. LOL

  • @SupremeJudge i believe he says "Just Wait"

  • @DANfan69 it's actually "just wait" as a means to taunt the player into making it all the way

  • @DANfan69 lolololol, he says "JUST WAIT"...lol

  • @DANfan69 lol,he says"just wait" points for creativity,though!

  • This game was the shit to me back in the day! Yeah, it looks a little dated now, but I loved it! As an impressionable teen back then, I HAD to play anything that invoved martial arts! This one was at the 7-11 in my nieghborhood. I would get 10 dollars for allowance each week and a third of it went to playin' this game and grabbin' a Slurpee while I was there! Good memories here!

  • this game is super cool in the snes version is horrible

  • There's a perfect emulation of this on Midway Arcade Treasures Deluxe Edition for the PC (just be sure you install the official patch, or the music will be missing!)

  • are you sure, i found the SNES port to be much difficult (especially since you have to earn the special moves). i was mostly fond of the Genesis port of Pit Fighter to be the closest to the arcade. i also have the PS2 version which is on Midway Arcade Treasures 2. the one downside to the PS2 port is that it runs way too fast.

  • Ya it was way easier to me. The CPU did some weird patterns all the time but it was easy to learn and defeat a character without getting hit almost all the time.
