Remembering Arroyo or Leontyne Price or the young Gwyneth Jones Ghena Dimitrova, Souliotis, Crespin or Barstow etc. Signora Caballe has been stupid not to go on with Donizetti (like Cuberli and Miriciou) and more Mozart and Bellini and more Scarlatti and Gluck - this are the composers for her beautiful voice ...

Her Aida Trovatore Attila etc. are an real boring horror !

And she did it with Domingo .... better not to talk more about ...

Have never understood why she went on singing Verdi - you can listen to her Coloraturas which are not in tune or well done :

The camerawork is so intimate and bizarre, but wonderful. Those shots from slightly behind her on the right with a view of downstage and the lights in the orchestra are astonishing. Thanks Oneguin65. How can we thank you for this bounty?

kind of a funeral home quality & Mz Caballe seems out of sorts- Onegin65 version with Pavarotti and the big Leonora is more enjoyable- I encourage this fine site to find more Miserere to post as this inspiration of genius Verdi is sublime no matter who sings it-

i believe it depends on the day you know? i watched a trovatore with joan and it was kind of disapointing but on the other hand i´ve never seen it with caballe. what i think is that this video shows me a miserere scene that i think is the best. i admit caballe was not very good with "fire" as you said but what we have to consider is: does this scene really requires fire?
