He's an idiot for not learning the language, all the managers who are foreign and manage in the premiership have to learn it. No wonder he was rubbish as England manager. I feel sorry for the people at home trying to understand and put up with this translator.
@jimmy199244 in england practically no-one speaks german, so a german manager in the PL would be forced to learn quickly. in germany people speak excellent english so there isnt the same pressure to learn german.
i'm guessing also, that you speak several languages excellently (you probably can barely even speak english properly! )
@predatorhateex you said a german manager in the PL would be forced to learn quickly, and then you said in germany people speak excellent english ? what would they be forced to learn in the PL then ? LOL just wondering...
The most cringeworthy part of it is the slow, considered way he speaks as if speaking English to a roomful of people who might not understand... except he has a translator! He patronises the translator by speaking in a stupid, dumbed-down, faux-German way and probably makes the guy's job harder!
Some people have a good ear for accents and can't help but pick them up, a lot of uni students will tell you that, they pick up some of the dialect and accent, and some people can go full blown. It's funny how people laugh at Steve McClaren, but no-one ever had anything to say about Jan Molby.
@Tomdom88 Jan Molby is a Dane who learnt English with a Liverpool accent after years working there. Steve McClaren is an Englishman who speaks English with a German accent (!) after working there for.. a few months! The two are not comparable.
The equivalent is Molby speaking Danish in an English accent after three months in England... ridiculous no? It would be understandable if McClaren spoke German in a German accent...
McClaren has made a conscious decision to sound like an idiot!
@MikefromMadrid Erm the Krombacher Beer...Do you not see it? If I was Schteve, I would stop the interview tell all the journos to chill out, while I crack open a Krombacher.

Give Steve a break, he's only been there a couple of months and can't possibly be expected to converse in the language after such a short time.

Wahey! Ritual humiliation of an English manager who has the temerity to try and coach abroad. Wahey!
Does speak like a bit of a tit though.
