  • I fucking lol'd at the end. Also, this seems like som nice dudes to work for!

  • yeah boba fett in the back XD

  • diet coke doesn't count!

  • Diet coke has more soda in it so its harder with diet coke.

  • Omg that guys awesome

  • Awesome! And he may have gone to college, but I haven't, and I hold a record for soda at my job. 3.8 seconds with a 12z cherry coke zero but it was through a beer bong. But, from a can, I downed an entire 16z Full Throttle Fury in 7 seconds, and that was 2nd place where 1st was 6 seconds.

So a 12 oz can? Diet or regular, it isn't the sugar, it is the carbonation, he did good either way. The opening of the can, that's another story. Remember, he did pause.

  • Yup College training right there. Except it wasn't soda he was training with in college.

  • Yard of Coke..

  • coke is good for u.. it cleans ur bloodstream nothing bad gets in it

  • Agreed with galanie, you guys rock!

  • Well I can beat 8.6 seconds easly!!

I am made of swedish steel and we know how to drink coke!

  • HAHA the belch at the end was a great finish!

As for the snide comments.. Mythic will fix the game and they'll get slammed by someone no matter what they do. I personally love this stuff. I lets us know we're dealing with real people and makes me like the company even more.

  • Agreed. They've done a great job so far.

Biggest problem is resist stacking. The only way to do damage to opponents stacking resists is via a resist debuff, which they forgot to give to the sorcs :(

If they fix that, which means mean allow 25-35% resists before having to sacrifice other states severely to get any higher and maybe 40% absolute tops, and just remove debuffs it will be nearly perfect.

I play a sorc so I'm getting the shaft now, but I have faith they will fix it!

  • Shred, @ your resist stacking comment of 3 weeks ago, you'll be happy to know 1.2 nerfed resists, and now we have an aoe stacking problem...

  • I know... but the resists needed to come up, no question there. Now they need to tone down AoEs a bit.

  • Thing is, they nerfed resists back to uselessness but kept the resist reducing abilities the same. It's like unleashing the old pre-nerf FOTM BW and putting it on speed.

  • Yup, that they did. They won't give sorcs a debuff but BWs now have 2. Guess Mythic only plays order, it's the only explanation for a lot of changes in 1.2.

In theory resist debuffs should be useless as if someone is smart, they would stack resists above the cap but how many non-tanks do that?

BWs need a nerf to bring it down to the level of its counterpart, no question. Their good abilities are free or lower on the free, they have debuffs and abilities to buff their core spells. We don't.

  • Even resists stacked above the cap are useless due to the cap being too low.

  • Disagree it's too low. Single target spells don't have very much effect still. The only problem are ground target aoes that stack from 12 different BWs/sorcs

  • Single target spells don't have very much effect? LOL! BW's/Sorc's are in their pre-nerf stage again, what are you talking about? Resists are useless now.

  • What on earth are you talking about? Have you ever tried playing a Sorc? We still can't kill a tank or witch hunter before they walk in from a range and one shot us. BWs stand a little better chance against a witch elf due to WEs being nerfed and BWs being OP vs their counterpart....

We are still a ways away from the pre-nerf stage. BWs might be pretty close because they have two resist debuffs, which they should lose along with the tactic that increases the radius of Rain of Fire....

  • WE's were nerfed into uselessness, they're being solo'ed by AMs now. Sorc's blow anything away as long as they're kept alive, and with a good healer, combined with an absorb shield and a tank blocking for them, they're pretty much invulnerable with insane dps.

  • lol not quite. We die as soon as a WH breathes on us. At least the WE has to actually hit the BW...

  • Dieing to WH's is due to over buffage of the WH, not an inherent flaw in your class. The WE and WH are mirrors and should be balanced.

  • They should be! As should the Magus and Engineer, and Sorc and BW and Ironbreaker and Black Orc but in all cases the order counterpart is superior.... can tell the guys at Mythic are playing order.

  • I played order and every single order from every corner of my server and every online forum echoed that the destro counter-part was superior. This order counter-part being superior to destro is a new theme, and due to recent changes. I think it's always "the grass is greener on the other side". They over-nerfed the WE and overbuffed the WH, this is what caused the unbalance. They never truly removed the WE opedness, they just caused it to change hands.

  • Order always whines about destruction being "overpowered", confusing better organized for overpowered.

Destruction overall might have been very slightly overpowered in 1.1. Keep in mind BWs, Ironbreakers, and Engineers have almost always been superior to their counterparts. Sure the WH was a little weak so they make it a little better than the WE ever was and make the WE about the same as the WH in 1.1.... makes no sense there.

But it's far from the only thing making order OP right now.

  • I hardly believe that every single destruction faction on every server is somehow "more organized". I could believe it on a specific server, but not across the board as a faction. I myself don't believe destro is op, but order is not mistaking op for organization, it's the same as saying order is op from the destro side. I'd say order mirrors are OP atm mainly due to the WH buff and aoe stacking. WP's don't help either.

  • Melee used to be destructions strong point and ranged used to be orders, so order was better defending and destro was better in the open field.

1.2 nerfed destros melee classes below the point of orders, minus the choppa.

WPs still have Cleasing Power. Rain of Fire is still buffed by Fan the Flames, and BWs still debuff their own magic type and Wildfire still procs on Rain of Fire. Engineers still have throwing arm where the Magus does not. IBs are still the best tanks in every aspect.

  • Hm? Squig Herders will beat Shadow Warriors (their mirror) hands down almost every time if specced Big Shootin. Magus and Sorc's have always topped the damage charts next to Engi's and BW's. I frequent both WHA and VN, and have never seen your theory mentioned once or spoken of. Engineers have throwing arm because the Magus gets a huge crit increase tactic, this has been discussed over and over again on the forums. And IB's are more adaptable than the BO, not better in "every single way".

  • The only way it's possible for a BW/Engi to do less damage than their counterpart is if the person playing them has no idea what they are doing or their team isn't doing their job.

Rain of Fire gets a 50% larger radius. That's 125% more ground covered aka damage. There is no way a Sorc will ever match the damage outputted by Rain of Fire alone if there's over 5 people around.

IBs do more damage and have better survivability than any tanks on destruction. How could a BO be better than that?

  • I've seen plenty of normal skilled BW/Engis outdpsed by skilled Sorc's/Magus, or even Sorc's/Magus with superior gear and better opportunities in the scen (focus healed while the enemy stands in a huge clump). Never played a BO, but I have BO friends and some IB friends who would argue that BO's actually take the cake in some defensive situations. I notice most people who praise the IB link every ability they have, and neglect to mention the requirement of speccing in one or the other.

  • Well if those "normal" skilled BW/Engis wearing greens are up against super-skilled Sorcs/Magus's in greens, then yeah it's very possible.... however a scenario is hardly an accurate measure of damage. As I said the surrounding team plays a large role, and whenever I lead a scen in damage on my sorc you can guarantee we're winning that scen.

  • I'd say the scen is an accurate measure of ones damage if they had ample opportunity and time to get their spells off.

  • Not close. One side can cluster up like idiots, or funnel through a small area, increasing damage from the BW/Sorc on the other side.

Think about this - it's possible for a tank-specced tank class in a good group to outdps a dps class if the group around the dps class is poor or half the people on your team are afkers. Using the same logic, you would say that a Black Orc does better damage than a Sorc/Magus because one was higher on the damage charts in a scenario, and that doesn't work.

  • Many choke points in the game result in mandatory clustering (tor anroc/gromril crossing) etc. My point was that chance plays a large part in scenario numbers, in terms of how many are clustered and opportunities. Afkers are not an issue as they are booted out and I've never encountered any "afk bots" in my scen, as afk botting would be pointless in warhammer. Skill does come into play as to who can click faster and make decisions on the fly, this can affect scen numbers.

  • I do not know how many times I have seen someone leave numlock on and run into a corner and just run into the wall over and over again... that will keep you from getting booted out.

I have also seen tanks out dps sorc's in scens, because the sorcs get swarmed a lot faster.

And the winning side will usually out damage the losing side in scens. Even the most skilled players who do everything 100% right cannot make up for a noob team, especially if the other team is somewhat organized.

  • I've seen this done in WoW but I've never seen it happen in War on Praag (Destro side) or on Dark Crag (Order side), two of the most populated servers in the game for the U.S and some of the only ORVR servers available for the U.S. I will agree that a noob team will make you lose regardless of skill, but this seems true in most games that are team-based.

  • I've seen it on every server I've played on, constantly. I've seen others complaining about it on WHA forums as well.

So if a losing team can make you lose when it ends up being 16 on 1 essentially, which is understandable, then how are scens a reliable measure of damage?

  • Again, still yet to see it once and I play way too much. It makes no sense to afk out or auto run into a wall seeing as how much of the xp-gain is based on participation (damage/tagging people) and being near the team when kills happen. In WoW it would make sense that if an AV is going to take upwards 20-30 min and you're getting a set amount, afking makes sense, but in Warhammer, I don't see why any serious gamer would do it.

  • Somehow I doubt that you haven't seen it. Maybe haven't bothered to look. I was in a real bad scenario and I was talking to guildies and they were like look for people running into walls in weird places so being as no one else was doing anything anyway I decided to give it a shot. Sure enough....

  • I've ran around tons of scenarios and haven't seen it, nor has anyone in my guild (Abyss on Praag), it's a pretty big guild. It makes no sense to run into a wall during a scen when the majority of your xp is based on damage/tagging players. You would level so insanely slow that it would defeat the purpose and you could get more xp just killing monsters.

  • ...but not when you are AFK

  • Point is that in WoW you could afk in a bg and your points/badges wouldn't differ too much ratio-wise. You'd either get 1 badge or 3 and the winning points weren't a huge difference in honor. Take a look at war where XP gain is based off of tagging/damage. You can easily get 0 xp in a scen if you're not near your group when a kill is made. And if you do come down to get kills and afk, you're likely to get pwnt as well and you can't afk through that for long.

  • If you just walk into a wall you won't get booted.

I know people don't get anything from it.

But what happens is people join a scenario, they're getting slaughtered so after a minute or two they put numlock on and walk into a wall instead of leaving. As a result, your team is AFK and you lose like 500-2.

It's really not to gain renown/XP, it's so they don't have to wait before queuing up again.

    Happens all the time.

You play order, so you probably wouldn't see it much anyway.

  • If you're at the starting area, regardless of what you're doing, you will get booted. I've been booted when we were camped and I healed (running around) in the starting area for an extended period of time. There is no wait before queing up again in War (in regards to a debuff like in WoW), queues are pretty much instant on dark crag. And the real XP would be worth the wait if there is one. My main is a Squig Herder, but I also have a T4 Engi.

  • There is a 5 min wait unless they removed it very recently, as within the past couple of weeks.

And I've stayed in the starting area once dropping pits because it was a mob of order down there and my entire team was AFK minus two others and never got kicked... just last night.

  • Never seen the 5 min wait. I've walked out of scens and gone back in instantly, maybe I'm epic? When I got booted from the scen from playing at start I was at Doomfist Crater on my shaman healing from the ledge. Not sure if your scen granted a diff vantage point or one further from the direct spawn. I've seen 500-2's without anyone afking. I also think even if there is a 5 min wait, going through 10+ min of afk is still longer.

  • Well I did see a 5 min wait when I first started playing... haven't left a scenario since, but my point remains is I've played on several servers and they all had AFKers. I guess there's no sense in trying to guess why they do it. Maybe just getting the quest that gives them 1.5g, going back to eat dinner etc.

  • My guess is afkers (i've never seen them but you say you have) are just bored with the game. They aren't progressing by afking or saving any time. Maybe they want to make the other side pay?

  • I call them order spies personally. :/

  • Meh, it'd be odd for someone to care that much about the order vs. destro thing that they'd level up their char just to screw up a random scenario.

  • Actually not as odd as you think. Ever caught people using two accounts, one as a "spy" account?

It happens - not all that much, and people get caught even less, but it definitely happens.

  • The Magus is only inferior because of no Throwing Arm. Crit bonus works on open ground, but not for keeps and as a result they don't serve as a debuffer for the sorc in the same way as the Engi works with the BW.

What does the sorc do better than its counterpart... find me one thing. If you are going to say Infernal Gift, well they nerfed that so it's hardly worth using anymore.

I have provided several of the main reasons why the BWs are vastly OP in contrast, but there's more I left out too.

  • Crit bonuses not working on keep doors does not seem like a drawback compared to engi's not having the crit bonus at all. It's a trade-off. Sorc/BW's are around somewhat balanced skill-wise, it's resists that need to be brought back up again and BW's were FOTM long before the initial resist buff that caused so much whining.

  • On a side note, I think they should make Rain of Fire and Pit of Shades line of sight. That would fix the stacking problem as Sorcs/BWs would have to stop casting to run away to get a heal and get de-targeted by the opposing side, while at the same time not making any sorcs/bws beyond the first two or three useless...

  • tut tut, yes, i must say that using diet coke is not the same. It is easier to down diet coke faster. The original coke winner is Skalski. Diet coke should have it's won contest. Josh: new rules!!

  • Shut up.

  • lol "his gentlemen went to college" too true

  • dam looks like some late night fun at the office lol

  • Sweet!

Fix the game! =p (I had to)

  • nice, by the way WAR is awesome

  • In all fairness, I have to drink diet soda...that and I didn't know the opening rule before hand

  • It's still easier on the throat

  • Wahaha awesome!

  • That was epic!

  • I think it has to do with the fact that hes drinking a diet cola, It wasn`t fair for the other....contestants? players? drinkers?

  • I have a new-found respect for Andy. I now want to go out drinking with him sometime (come back to NY!)

  • Heh I wonder what the comment was!

  • CHUG, CHUG, CHUG, CHUG.

  • aww but he opened it before, and raised it to his mouth before too.. ill give him 9 sec lol, great job though
