Lee Fields and The Expressions reflect what's truly missing in modern music. I first picked up this album a year ago and knew then that it was something special. it is reminiscent of classic soul, yet it is something new this great artist and his musicians have crafted. The instrumentation and vocals are deep and rich with complexity.The sonic quality of this project cannot be overstated. the horns and what sounds like electronic organs intertwine masterfully with the voice of Fields.

I am African American and 35 yrs old...I am so glad that there is music out there like this. Lee is bringing back soul. I don't care what color the band is....they are paying homage to the old skool! There needs to be more Black bands but the powers that be have eliminated that from today's R&B. We have The Roots and who else?? But these guys aren't stealing...they are a tribute to soul band!! I love it!
