Meritfinancial requires you to wire money, which alone costs around $30 so for me, their price has to be enough lower to absorb the increased cost (wiring and $30 shipping together through merit costs more than the slightlly higher shipping through bulliondirect).

@MiranUT im not a Financial expert- but, I would definitely stay away from Dollar denominated investments -and if you don't have any "Physical" precious Metals in your portfolio, I would DEFINITELY consider getting some!

@Silveready1 - Thanks. I'm no expert either, but I've already gotten rid of all my dollars. I earn & spend yen (in Japan). I'm on the silver bandwagon, but I get little news on the future of the yen - which is ridiculously strong right now for no apparent reason (although I suspect it has a lot to do with propping up the dollar). Japan's debt's been in the news, but it doesn't seem to be the same problem the US debt is: Japan's balance sheet looks more promising. But the economy is still weak.

I have recently bought from meritfinancial and bulliondirect because I find them to be lower in price than other dealers/retailers. Whenever you buy from these outfits, it takes about three weeks to get delivery, but at least I've gotten delivery every time. I understand the concern about shortages fully, and would recommend a quicker delivery from whoever you can find it from if the problem gets worse. I've found meritfinancial to have lower US or Canadian and bulliondirect...
