  • dont forget, shes a zylon :P

  • A heavy drinking six?? That fucking rocks!!

  • Watch out interview dude ! She's a Cylon !!!

  • you're a cylon incase you forgot

  • I forgot :(

  • how about a new battlestar galactica where the deal with renegade penis enlargers that decide to take over the universe??

  • ovious really all children strive to emoulate their parents and out shine their parents so why their not become human

  • watch the dvd online divxon.blogspot . com/2009/10/battlestar-galactica-plan-2009.html

  • Didn't know it was possible, but Tricia Helfer is EVEN MORE GORGEOUS in real life!!!

  • Tricia Helfer needs to learn how to be a better public speaker.

  • I thought Marti Noxon did worse. She used the word "stuff" and "things" too much.

  • I always thought that Shelley was just Baltar's angel making herself visible to everyone else.

  • It was better than that was the most likely option.

  • BRYAN Singer guys. Not Marc Singer. The Beastmaster is not gonna make another version of Galactica...

    Although he should, lol

  • Hee - thank you for that correction! I never could quite connect those dots. :)

  • I'd like to fill in some of her holes, nudge nudge wink wink

  • Sometimes you gotta roll the hard six.......

Actually, Tricia Helfer wanted to burn that blonde " Six " wig. That got pretty old for her, playing a sexy Cylon in almost every ep. She could go from a sexy seductress to an angel / agent of God in the space of a breath.

  • Tricia was amazing on the show - fabulous range. Am i right that this was her first acting job? It's too bad that sci-fi shows never seem to get acting Emmys.

  • As far as I know, Tricia H. was a model before BSG, I don't know if she was in anything else.

Unless they're EXCEPTIONALLY well - done, which BSG was of course, sci - fi shows don't get many Emmys. They're pushed to the back of the pack & relegated to the sub - basement, unfortunately.

Marc Singer is planning a version of Galactica based on the original, & keeping the characters like they were in the original. Dear God..... !!!

  • My hat is definitely off to her - she played different characters with such subtlety! That is very hard to do!

I hadn't heard that about Mr Singer - I wonder how that will be accepted? I'd say "Terribly!", but i've come across so many people who still say the first one was better, it's the "real" one, etc. I don't want to be rude to those folks, but this show was *so* good, they'll have a hard time. This is such a good, character-driven (and yes, great action stuff too) show.

  • T.H. played Six like she ( Six, not Tricia ) had MPD. One instance, a sexy, hot blonde, the next, kind of a psycho, then the next, a religious fanatic with a revealing dress.

If Marc Singer does a version that's a carbon copy of 1970's BSG, look for disco / casino ships, laser guns, alien versons of Donna Summer, cute dog - like robots, IL - Cylons dressed in sequined, glittery outfits, Colonial refugees acting like the Colonies hadn't been destroyed, for the most part. Oy !!

  • Oy. That does not sound any kind of good! It hasn't been greenlit (lighted?) anywhere yet, has it?

Donna Summer could enjoy a comeback though :)

  • I HOPE NOT, really & truly. Some parts of the pilot episode were like a 70's disco nightmare in space. Add in Lucifer & Specter, C3 - PO's evil gay brothers, & the fact that the Colonial refugees more or less acted like the exodus was only a temporary inconvenience, put in elements of Star Wars / Lost in Space & Star Trek, stir & add unoriginal, derivative ideas. Heat & serve. Again, Oy..... !!

  • LOL! Ooh that's a bit scary. Maybe a Halloween mini? Kidding!

I think we can get a "So say we all!" on no new old Battlestar! :D

  • Expect to see C3 - PO's gay cousins in gowns by Bob Mackey, mechanical daggits ( dogs ), & plots loosely modeled on Lost in Space episodes.....

So say we all ! Yes to Caprica, no to a revised version of original BSG !!!

  • & of course, I meant the original BSG. Very derivative of SW. If Marc Singer does a redux / carbon copy of original BSG, it can be a travesty.

  • I can only hope that a carbon copy is NOT made of the original. It was good for it's era much like the reimagined is good for ours. They would definitely tarnish the reputation of both the original and reimagined series if that were to be put through production.

On Six's MPD, there would have to be one body/ conciousness to have mutiple personalities. It's stated within the show that each copy is unique within itself, only through its own experiences. MPD doesn't necessarily apply.

  • A carbon copy of Glen Larson's original wouldn't be anything more than a cookie - cutter homage to a cheesey Star Wars clone, w / overtones of Lost in Space & Star Trek.

& yet, I can't deny that, at the time, I thought it was cool..... Discos & casinoes in space !! Alien versions of Donna Summer !! Cute plush toy dog robots.

Then I became a man, & put away childish things.....

About Six - Point taken, but she could go from being an " angel " to being a violent loon at times.

  • Hey, a St. Paul reference! I like ya even more :)

No MPD with 6, but she definitely (Caprica Six) had a great arc! From taking point on the genocide if the human race to fighting with the humans and making a whole new life- her face was even different. Just really, really good acting. And Ms Helfer seems like a genuinely nice person,in interviews at least. Such good casting and acting on this show! Love it, miss it!

  • I get creative occasionally..... Thanks !!!

Six went through a LOT of phases in the different seasons of BSG.

Tricia Helfer was / is a model, this was her 1st acting performance. The chemistry w / James Callis was great.

On the whole, BSG was on a par with the series Babylon 5, both series had CONTINUITY, something lacking from most science - fiction series, including Star Trek & original Galactica. Both series - B5 & BSG - had similar themes.

  • AMY and KNOX: This thread is getting hard to keep up with! (lol)

AMY: The Six model did have a great character development, much like Starbuck. I think that they were one of the MANY reasons audiences watched.

KNOX: How Six went from being seductive to seductively loon was a great character development. I never watched Babylon 5, too young when it came out. But BSG does have what many SYFY shows are STILL lacking--a plot that can relate to real world issues.

  • Theory:

Like they said in an interview, somebody wrote " It's all about the CHARACTERS !! " on a whiteboard.

Six had BOATLOADS of character development. This idiot on TVGUIDE channel was interviewing Tricia Helfer, & all he could do was harp on the drooling fanboys in the basements of their parents' houses who idolized her, & her looks rather than her acting ability. TVG does mostly fluff, anyway.....

  • Oh yeah - The interview of which I spoke was conducted by Chris Harrison of TV Guide. A tool, a moron & he has NO business interviewing anybody, much less someone like Tricia Helfer.

  • Well, since Head Six turned out to be an angel who can corporealize and de-corporealize at will, I kinda thought that whole Shelly thing was played out. :/

I hope it's good. I didn't like much of season4, it was too soapy.

  • tough six. LOL

  • yay yay yay yay!!!

  • LOL. RDM is so tired of talking about BSG.

  • I knew it - Daniel...

It was so obvious they weren't just going to leave it as a vague refference in the final episodes.

We are going to see who7/Daniel was.

  • Thank you for that reminder! I was wracking my brain "Who was Daniel?!" :)

  • I didn't correlate the two "Daniels" until I read it on a blog. I suppose since his daughter Zoe was the virtual personality uploaded to the first cylon model, that in turn the evolution of said personality could have created a version of him.

I want to say one thing! WOOT! Ron Moore said, "You'll have to watch the show." Is he referring to the television movie or to Caprica the series? Either way, I CANNOT wait for either!

  • OK want to make sure I'm following! :) Was Eric Stoltz's character in "Caprica" named Daniel? I wish that was going to be a series. Or another mini! More from the BSG world would be awesome!!!

  • Eric Stoltz's character is named Daniel but as to whether he's going to be the same one in the canon - I couldn't say.

I think Caprica is going to be released next year on the Sci - Fi / Syfy channel as a mini or a complete series.

  • It's been reported that the Caprica dvd was a pilot much like the miniseries of BSG was the pilot for that show. It would be interesting to see how the first Cybernetic Life Form Node's conciousness developed.

Also, it would be FANTASTIC if the show went in that direction--making Eric Stoltz's character the model 'Daniel' that Ellen referred too. I HIGHLY doubt they'll reveal something like that in The Plan, but it'll be interesting to see at what point it's revealed.

  • It sounds like it.

I always thought that the 1st Cylon consciousness came from a virtual reality recording of Daniel Greystone's daughter, but I could be wrong.

    Daniel Greystone as the Cylon

" Daniel "..... That's some serious synchronicity there.

  • Oh yay! I'm so glad. It took me a while to get into Caprica, but when i did, i was hooked. AGain, we have great arc of human emotion, what in the heck is "right" vs whatever in the heck is "wrong" (The BSG world being an excellent example of how many shades of gray there are in life!).

Syfy... that is so silly! Anyone know what that was about? (Thx for the help, knoxville! I appreciate your time very much!!)

  • Knox: They imply that the cylon conciousness from the uploaded personality of Zoe, his real daughter. The personality, for all intent and purposes is his daughter. Throughout the show, I wondered how the Cylon MACHINES developed a conciousness, turns out that they had it all along.

Amy: I think Caprica's politics will be similiar to BSG's. However, I think it'll focus moreso on said politics. Still, it'll make for a great series of events leading to the Cylon war.

  • Theory:

Zoe's consciousness was the template, then ? Makes sense.

Some people have said that Caprica w / be more like a soap opera in space, too.

I've heard that the Cylons were also built as troops for wars btwn. the Colonies. Hence. the martial tendencies.

  • Oh I hope it won't be Soap-y.

Zoe was a brilliant kid - my stars...did she do all of that alone in "Caprica"? Creating that avatar (for lack of better word) of herself in a VR world?

Knox, i just rent from Netflix. Blockbuster has no TV & the flicks are $5 bucks to rent. Silly when we can go down the street to RedBox and get 5 for $5 (no TV there either though). I wonder if Caprica can be seen online? I'll have to dig around, it'd be good to see again - or for a 1st time! :)

  • It might be just a TAD soap - ish, but it's too early to tell.

Consider who Zoe's father was / is.

Captain Video has nothing but " crazed - killer in a small town ", " vampire / zombie hookers ", " cannibals ", etc. They had Stargate Continuum & Ark of Truth, the last time I checked, the other selections were sucky.

You might find Caprica on Hulu, possibly.

  • It is confusing me a bit though - Zoe and Daniel seem to have created the Cylons, or an early version, but ... would that make him their "one true god"? Maybe i should just wait for some of these answers :) But you guys have better memories than i do and great thoughts so i figure it can't hurt too much to ask :)

  • Amy: I read somewhere that there was an irony to the Cylon dilemma of their one true God. Daniel created Zoe who created Zoe-R who in turn was uploaded into a Cylon. It stated something along the lines that the Cylon's originally wanted to wipe out humanity, while some models worshipped a true God, which given the six degrees of some sort of separation was the implemented conciousness of a human--thus being the conciousness of Zoe. It's quite a conumdrum.

  • I need to find a video store that actually stocks GOOD stuff. I asked a clerk at the local Captain Video ( or as I call it " Lackluster Videos " ) if they had " Caprica ", she looks at me & says " Africa ? " & I go, " No, CAP - RI - CA ". Clerk said there was no demand for it or some such. I've only seen short bits & promo clips for it on YouTube.

The new label " Syfy " sounds like they're pandering to illiterates. It also sounds like a certain disease carried by prostitutes.

  • Knox: Zoe's virtual conciousness was more or less the template for cylon cognitive thought, however it was a true conciousness as if shown in the pilot movie. In the book, "The Cylon's Secret," part of the Trilogy booklet, it's shown that the original model was built for many tedious reasons--being wartime troops, as well. There was also a hint that there were also many versions of Cylon models intended for human use that more than likely were found useless after they rebelled.

  • Theory:

I have that Trilogy, courtesy of our library. I need to actually SIT DOWN & READ IT !!

Cylons were like robotized Swiss Army pocket - knives, doing everything from kitchen work to garden work to maintenance. Maybe the " wartime troops " were a special division.

  • I have the trilogy also. I haven't read all of it, I bought it a week ago after a friend told me that though the stories don't entirely fit into the television series, the bit of information regarding the Cylons does.

    TheoryInSplitting is my yahoo S/N

  • Yeah, like I said, I actually need to sit down & read it before the library police come to get me !!!

A lot of the book appears to be back - story.

    BTW:

There was one story in there about Colonials whose culture apparently was analogous to terrestrial Nordic culture, seeking representation in the council amid charges of ethnic / religious discrimination. Not a Cylon story, but very good.

I'll put your name in my yahoo list.
