The Browning BDA is a completely different firearm - evolved from the browning high-power - and has nothing to do with the sig design (see the slide rails, frame contours and lack of decocker and compare with the older sig p210). Just thought I'd put it out there.
I really enjoy all your video's!! It's because of this video i decided to make the sig sauer p226 my first hand gun purchase. Since then i have added few handguns to my collections from a Springfield XDM, H&K P30, Berreta PX4 storm,. But my Sig is by far my favorite! Thanks Nuntfancy!!
Also, I absolutely love the Sig Sauer p226! It's absolutely my favorite gun, although the Sig p229 is really nice in the .40 caliber. I watched all of your Sig p226 reviews and enjoyed them all. I watched them all back to back. After talking my dad's ear off about how often the Sig p226 is, we decided to try it out and are planning on buying one now. Thanks. I just put up some videos of me shooting one. As well as a USP .40 and a few others. I even have a video of me shooting a Desert Eagle! :D
Hey I'm Dalton and I just wanted to let you know that my dad and I love your gun reviews. They are unbiased, thorough, and accurate and I really appreciate it. I told my dad about how good your reviews were and he decided to look you up. Now, whenever we have any gun questions, we specifically look for your reviews first. Thank you also for giving our law enforcement and military the props that they so deserve. Please check out my new videos if you get a chance, I understand if you can't. Thanks
Nutnfancy! Just got a Sig 226 Enhanced Elite in .40!! (my first handgun) I am super excited about it, and buying it was even on my bucket list haha.. Its a great gun, and the second kind of cool factor was just through the roof!!
Thanks for all your reviews and great information that you provide us TNPers!
I love the P226. Great detailed review. I saw this video about a year ago and have been saving up ever since. I just bought one used a month ago and love it.
Sig P226 (.40) is excellent. It's my primary duty gun. Love the weight, feel, reliability. I have put around 5,000 rounds through my sig, and have had one jam (which was after almost 700 rounds without cleaning). I would trust this gun with my life, and DO every day. Great review nutn.
Once the tax money comes in and these bills are paid, I'm doing my best to get the gadsden edition. It just works for me. I have " Don't tread on me" tattooed across my stomach
Bin laden was not killed in that seal team 6 raid he has been dead long before that from liver disease, the government admitted they faked the situation room photos of Obama & Hilary watching the raid, ask yourself why would they executed him when he is the most valuable asset of terrorist information, buried at sea so no one can confirm his death, no photos released of his corpse, and finally the seal team that took part in the fake raid was all killed off in a helicopter crash.
nutnfancy, after watching your string of videos giving the points and counterpoints for the sig p226, i found the points outweighed the counters on this one for me at least and helped me pick the p226 as my handgun of choice. and you were right, it feels terrific when holding and shooting. thanks for your review, it really helped!
@TARRA030 I would bet everything that you never went through any of their training. FYI, the S.A.S are not like the SEALs that are trained for air, land and sea operations all at once in each individual operative. The S.A.S. are an elite group and so are the SEAL's. before you act like you know shit about the two do some fucking research.
Thanks for taking the time out to give your priceless military and law enforcement experience. Not all people are this willing to give this information without twisting there arm. I also find this a great tool for when Im purchasing new firearms in consideration how expensive fire arms are these days.
@4everUSNavy Ive worked with them in the past . There good but not the best . But ive worked with a lot of sf and its all down to people in them or the regiment there in.
Does anyone know if older factory Sig P226 9mm 15 and 20 rnd mags will work in a new Sig P226? By older, I mean manufactured in the early 1990s. Thanks.
@robwtsn106 Well, we have a MUCH larger military, and the Sig P226 is not a cheap gun. Also we use M9's which are just fine, and saves our tax dollars.
The nice thing about the P226 is that you can easily convert from a 9mm to a .40 for around $350, also if you have a P226 in .40 you can switch barrels to .357 sig for around $175, tha mags for the 357 and 40 are the same. that way you can train with 9mm for cost savings, easily switch to .40 or .357 for much more punch. With todays hollow points the diff b-tween 45acp and .40 or 357 sig, no big deal.
the British MoD also uses this as their standard sidearm and so do alot of armed British gov. personnel. doessn't instantly make it the best gun in the world, but the MoD gets alot of respect and for them to choose this gun means something to alot of people.
Great Video. Very Detailed, Thank u for it. I Love the Sig Sauer P226, I Think its 1 of the Best Hand Guns of All Time. I'd Put it in my Top 2 Choices of Hand Guns that "I'D" Choose if I were Goin to War and I could Choose my Side Arm. The Sig 226 would be in my Top 2 Along with my Glock 19. I Love the Glock 19, I Consider it 1 of the Best of All Time as well. Both Guns are Accurate, Reliable, and Rugged. The Glock may be a lil Easier to Manipulate though. Its Also much Lighter than the Sig.
@goochie94 When I went to take my handgun safety course, the gun that I chose to shoot, was the H&K .45. This was the first time that I ever shot a gun. I couldn't hit the broad side of a barn with that thing. After the class, I rented a Sig p226 and shot it. The difference was like night and day. My groupings were very close together with that gun. When I buy my first gun, it's either going to be a P226, or a P229. Are Sigs expensive? Yes, but you get what you pay for.
@SteadySpeedin in the H&K's defense, a .45 AUTO kicks so much harder than a 9mm. it's not the gun's fault, but a 9mm is much more beginner friendly. i should know, i had the same problem shooting my friends 1911. then i picked up my navy buddy's beretta and i could actually shoot it with some accuracy.
Hey nutnfancy, I went shooting for the first time today and rented the 226. Everything was amazing but I felt quite a bit of muzzle flip (I think that's the proper term), do you think this is an isolated incident or is it common with the 226s? Thanks and love your vids learning a lot
After extensive tests the finalists for the US Service Pistol in 1985 were the Beretta, SIG, and S&W. A credible rumor (I am cleared for rumors) back then was the Beretta was chosen in return for the Italians adopting the BELL Huey helicopter and a license to produce them in Italy. I own a Beretta 92 9mm but am watching this excellent vid thinking of getting a SIG 226 in 357.
Hey Nutn, I purchased a Browing BDA .45 ACP in May 1977 . . . It cost $269 plus tax back then. it was my college graduation present from me to me . . .
I am a Sig Sauer Nut, but I did shoot a Glock 17 today. I was very impressed with how the glock handled. It was not as accurate as the Sig Sauer P226. However It is lighter and easier to do quick draw and did hold 1.5 inches at 15 yards. For what you pay for the Glock you do get a very good bang for your buck.
Holy chitballs buddy! You like that glock at all? You and Mr. glock need a minutes alone? I just knew at any moment you were gonna start strokin it. JEEZ
I bought my Sig 226 mainly on your review and recommendation but now I find that the barrel of the gun shows a lot of wear which I find unacceptalbe in a $900 gun. Is there an aftermarket barrel that is better for my Sig 226? Should I use black paint or some other finish to protect the barrel?
@arwarfighter Hey guy I'm selling my Sig 226 E2 in .40 caliber with 3 mags shot 300 rounds through it like new conditon with case lock instruction book for $775 if you are interested. Main reason selling I have small hands too big for my hand even with E2 grip.
@FeckleFart91 What are you talking about? You're comparing a double stack .45 offensive combat pistol to to a double stack 9mm/.40/.357 SIG duty pistol. Apples to oranges. Besides, the Mk. 23 is HK's biggest disappointment as far as practicality goes. The damn thing is a crew-serve pistol.
@92civichonda Alberta, im not sure about the police or military, and i guess saying every firearm in canada was an over exageration, but i know that they are limited to ten rounds for civillian use. I've actually looked it up and found it on one of the rcmp's websites.
@Thundakleese360 What province do you live in? do you mean for civilians or police and military? because the cops around here use sig 226's with the full sized mags..........
@ERF420 Handguns are restricted to 10 rounds, but some rifles are restricted to five rounds. Ive seen some rifles come with a five round mag but there are 10 round mags available to purchase seperately. Personally i dislike the gun laws in alberta and canada, in some ways i want our government to be old red necks who like guns and in others i dont (they are generally not the sharpest tools in the shed)
the p228 is the same size as the p229. only difference is the p228 has a 3 piece forged slide and then p229 has a solid machined slide. the p228 also is only available in 9mm as the p229 is available in 9mm 40sw and 357sig.
@danebake lol it has noting to to with the reverent of this vid Binlarden was USA's no one target so of course team 6 would have taken him out just as if he was Australian's no one target it prob would have been SASR that would have invaded another contrary's air space with out permission and shot him in tha face with what ever weapon they where caring at the time my point is all special force teams are the best of the best a cut above the rest in imo they are all very much alike high skilled
Anyway, you seem to be missing my tongue in cheekness. The thing about Special Forces is that they aren't like sports teams that you can compare for no reason. I know that, I'm just messing around on the internet.
Nutnfancy I love each and everyone of your vids but come on dude saying Navy Seal are the most elite unit in the world it feels like a lack of choice of words
Nutn I know you like high value and good quality I would love to hear your opinion on the Sig SP2022 9mm. I see them all the time new for around $400. I also know that some military units and LEO's are carrying them. If time allows I would love to see a review of that gun. Thanks and keep up the good work
@Snyder1224 Tell me about it. They don't like anyone sky-lining themselves, even if it's just having a better sidearm than that Italian piece of shit.
Real quick comment here. Nutnfancy your reviews are very detailed and great, however you get WAY off track alot. It's somewhat frustrating when i'm trying to listen to a review on something, but half of the time the speaker (you) goes off and talks about things that really have nothing to do with the actual topic. If you actualy stayed on topic...your video's would be 8 minutes instead of 15.
But again, other than that, your reviews are great.
@chris49vt Sure, he gets carried away. But he is extremely passionate about his weapons, and clearly has a lot of experience ang knowledge that he wants to share with the rest of us. On a personal note, i'm quite glad he shares his experience...
If you dont like his style, watch the other reviews out there. But i dont think you can find some that covers so many details that Nutnfancy does...
Nutnfancy I am in the Marine Corps and i could tell you your sources are correct when they said it was to expensive to adopt in the military but ive fired the P226 and the M9 which we use and id prefer the P226 any day of the week over the M9
Problem with SIGs is that they've gone through brand dilution and the general consensus is that QC has gone down. Some SIGs are uber-reliable, others have quite a few issues for a self-defense service pistol in it's price range. I think you can get a good one, but you have to know what you're getting; US vs German/Swiss parts, etc.
im with mrkb34. ive seen alot of sig 226's and had at least 3 of them. but that newer e2 is something i might be interested in. the main reason i sold the other 226's was bc it was so big for a 9mm. i might as well carry a 45. but that e3 seems promising. thanks
@TackDr1ver Victim of hype. It's not the size of the round, it's the skill of the shooter. You shouldn't depend on the round to make your kills. I've dropped folks with an M9 in two shots center mass. It's training, not packin' a .50 AE that'll save you.
226 is GOLDEN standard for pistols. My problem is if you use a competition grip, you can put enough pressure on the slide release so that the slide will not lock on last round. My grip presented a problem that could not be corrected. I rented the Beretta, M&P, XD, H&K and Glock and for me the Beretta was the best of the bunch ....UNTIL....I shot the CZ 75B Omega. I love the Sig and the Beretta but the CZ is BUTTA..all steel, cold forged barrel, poly rifle, inverse slide, uber accurate
hey nutn, how about a tabletop and range review on the p226 E2. i saw your vid from the convention, but a more in-depth on how your friends with smaller hands like it, and if there are any structural issues that came up when they down sized the grip, etc. i have size 7 hands but i really like the p226...everything expect the size that is. the e2 seems like it would be a viable option, but i've heard about some issues with the hammer not fully descending.
@ThaBR33D Its basically the same as Glock's "safe action" trigger. kind of a DAO with lighter trigger pull and shorter reset. Sig and HK are getting alot of play out of it with homeland security contracts.
@ThaBR33D It's nothing like the GLOCK trigger. It could be more compaired to the HK L.E.M. DAK stands for "Double Action Kellemer" after the German engineer at JP Sauer. It's a 5 1/2 to 6lb double action with an intermediate reset. Once you rack the slide the trigger is set. If the gun fails to cycle due to a weak primer strike or if you shot stroke the trigger, the trigger pull will then be 8lbs. It takes time to get used to, but it can make you a better shooter.
can you do a pistol in 40 S&W? i've been wondering if it's worth getting a beretta or a sig in .40 S&W or 9mm? (the question being the caliber and how the gun works with it)
@socom16762mm It's called "Point of aim, point of impact". Unlike the 6 O'clock sighting hold that most are used to here in the US. I didn't like it myself. I changed all my Sig's to a 6 O'clock sighting set-up
Just a little tid bit... I was in the market for an M9 but decided to honestly look at the P226. After comparing side by side, I actually decided on the Sig. I purchased one on 29 Jan 2011, took it out for the first time last weekend, shot ~60 rnds and the takedown lever broke off!!! My mileage varied :-) Also I had to straighten out getting the incorrect caliber mag with the pistol from the factory! I am thinking I made a mistake.
awesome review of my best favourite pistol. thx NUTNFANCY Project for awesome reviews with tons of info!!! I just dont have resources/time/money or experience to gather all this cool info myself. I appreciate you sharing your knowledge on these things. BTW, I did find MecGar made in italy also has 18 rnd mags for the p226 9mm. with no extensions and the bottom of the baseplate barely sticks out just a hair lower than the factory 15 rd mags.
And people that usually talk bad about sigs usually talk badly because they cant afford one and can afford a glock. Its like comparing a corvette vs a ferrari. Ya they are both fast but they just arent in the same league
Wow @ hoboboxerjoe! Where the hell does this guy get off at? Where the fuck is his videos? Nutnfancy is doing a service on this spare time! Hobojoe go back to your basement lair.
So would thousands of other people. These wars we are fighting are not right. We went into Iraq for what reason exactly? I support the LIVES of our truths, I know for a fact from personal experience what it's like over there and in Africa. I have seen combat and had to use guns and hand-to-hand to defend my life and end others. I know war and I know combat. And I love your reviews. But you have clearly not looked at the other side of the situation. And I do wonder if you have seen combat yoursel
Which is great. It's your viewpoints. But, and I'll just be honest here. The stuff I've heard you say a bout Obama, the NRA, and "Obamacare" and socialized medicine has been ridiculously ignorant and untrue. Liberals ARE and DO love guns, I am one of them. If it weren't for the democrats and Obama stepping in during the health crisis (which not a single soul on the republican side was doing anything about, they had eight years, and yes, Clinton had 8 as well...) I'd likely be dead.
PS: I disagree that "America is Number 1! We are the best!" I think that is INCREDIBLY arrogant, NutnFancy. I love your reviews, I understand your a redneck and a conservative and proud of it. More power to you! Be who you want to be! But I'm sick to death of hearing how SEALS are better than everyone else when Spetznaz, Israeli Special Forces, the SAS have men on there (just like the SEALs do) that could best each other. Consistently. Also, you inject your political thoughts into your reviews..
I'm holding a Sig p226 special navy edition right now, it has a Navy cross on it :). My dad gave it to me, he was in Nam. We're both oddities, we love guns but we're both liberals and support gay rights, marijuana legalization, etc. And we're atheists, so we don't fit the typical Utah gun-lover mold hehe.
The Browning BDA is a completely different firearm - evolved from the browning high-power - and has nothing to do with the sig design (see the slide rails, frame contours and lack of decocker and compare with the older sig p210). Just thought I'd put it out there.

@SteadySpeedin in the H&K's defense, a .45 AUTO kicks so much harder than a 9mm. it's not the gun's fault, but a 9mm is much more beginner friendly. i should know, i had the same problem shooting my friends 1911. then i picked up my navy buddy's beretta and i could actually shoot it with some accuracy.
zdkezios 6 months ago
@zdkezios You know what...I think I have my models mixed up. The one I shot was a P220 chambered in .45 ACP. Sorry for the confusion.
SteadySpeedin 6 months ago
Hey nutnfancy, I went shooting for the first time today and rented the 226. Everything was amazing but I felt quite a bit of muzzle flip (I think that's the proper term), do you think this is an isolated incident or is it common with the 226s? Thanks and love your vids learning a lot
Ethiopianraver 6 months ago
After extensive tests the finalists for the US Service Pistol in 1985 were the Beretta, SIG, and S&W. A credible rumor (I am cleared for rumors) back then was the Beretta was chosen in return for the Italians adopting the BELL Huey helicopter and a license to produce them in Italy. I own a Beretta 92 9mm but am watching this excellent vid thinking of getting a SIG 226 in 357.

I would not pit the Glock against the Sig. The Glocks are a poly frame gun where as the Sig is metal.
ERF420 8 months ago
WAIT! forget the SIG, where did you get the Harsy?!?
andybsmith 8 months ago
I am a Sig Sauer Nut, but I did shoot a Glock 17 today. I was very impressed with how the glock handled. It was not as accurate as the Sig Sauer P226. However It is lighter and easier to do quick draw and did hold 1.5 inches at 15 yards. For what you pay for the Glock you do get a very good bang for your buck.

Mk. 23 vs P226
FeckleFart91 8 months ago
@FeckleFart91 What are you talking about? You're comparing a double stack .45 offensive combat pistol to to a double stack 9mm/.40/.357 SIG duty pistol. Apples to oranges. Besides, the Mk. 23 is HK's biggest disappointment as far as practicality goes. The damn thing is a crew-serve pistol.

ERF420 8 months ago
@ERF420 Handguns are restricted to 10 rounds, but some rifles are restricted to five rounds. Ive seen some rifles come with a five round mag but there are 10 round mags available to purchase seperately. Personally i dislike the gun laws in alberta and canada, in some ways i want our government to be old red necks who like guns and in others i dont (they are generally not the sharpest tools in the shed)

the p228 forged slide wouldnt be able to handle the pressure's of a more powerful round thats why the p229 was made
MrJwedge 9 months ago
the p228 is the same size as the p229. only difference is the p228 has a 3 piece forged slide and then p229 has a solid machined slide. the p228 also is only available in 9mm as the p229 is available in 9mm 40sw and 357sig.

robertsj12 10 months ago
Real quick comment here. Nutnfancy your reviews are very detailed and great, however you get WAY off track alot. It's somewhat frustrating when i'm trying to listen to a review on something, but half of the time the speaker (you) goes off and talks about things that really have nothing to do with the actual topic. If you actualy stayed on topic...your video's would be 8 minutes instead of 15.
But again, other than that, your reviews are great.

72ChevelleJosh 10 months ago
Problem with SIGs is that they've gone through brand dilution and the general consensus is that QC has gone down. Some SIGs are uber-reliable, others have quite a few issues for a self-defense service pistol in it's price range. I think you can get a good one, but you have to know what you're getting; US vs German/Swiss parts, etc.
jaeger1447 10 months ago
im with mrkb34. ive seen alot of sig 226's and had at least 3 of them. but that newer e2 is something i might be interested in. the main reason i sold the other 226's was bc it was so big for a 9mm. i might as well carry a 45. but that e3 seems promising. thanks

@Mazchine Yeah... because that makes sense..?
TackDr1ver 10 months ago
@TackDr1ver Victim of hype. It's not the size of the round, it's the skill of the shooter. You shouldn't depend on the round to make your kills. I've dropped folks with an M9 in two shots center mass. It's training, not packin' a .50 AE that'll save you.
danebake 7 months ago

Can someone explain to me SIG's DAK trigger? I am going in the Coast Guard, and was told that their 226s all have DAK triggers.
ThaBR33D 11 months ago
@ThaBR33D Its basically the same as Glock's "safe action" trigger. kind of a DAO with lighter trigger pull and shorter reset. Sig and HK are getting alot of play out of it with homeland security contracts.
pimpc1125 11 months ago
@ThaBR33D Oh it also resets itself, so it has second strike option
pimpc1125 11 months ago
@ThaBR33D It's nothing like the GLOCK trigger. It could be more compaired to the HK L.E.M. DAK stands for "Double Action Kellemer" after the German engineer at JP Sauer. It's a 5 1/2 to 6lb double action with an intermediate reset. Once you rack the slide the trigger is set. If the gun fails to cycle due to a weak primer strike or if you shot stroke the trigger, the trigger pull will then be 8lbs. It takes time to get used to, but it can make you a better shooter.
SINBAD396 11 months ago
can you do a pistol in 40 S&W? i've been wondering if it's worth getting a beretta or a sig in .40 S&W or 9mm? (the question being the caliber and how the gun works with it)

socom16762mm 11 months ago

And I do wonder if you have seen combat yoursel
hoboboxerjoe 1 year ago
