I actually don't mind the forms and movements of Tai Chi. I just love watching beautiful Asian Girls performing those smooth and seductive motion. Man, she's pretty. ;) >:)
Also, from the get go, knees going beyond the toes. This is not only poor form, but the originators of this martial art knew their medicine as well, realizing that these errors in form will eventually cause so called "Tai Chi Knee", which should be called, "not doing Tai Chi correctly knee". Doing Taiji correctly will save knees, but doing it incorrectly can destroy knees, not to mention cause the whole thing to fall apart, from the martial to the spiritual.
Very pretty, but knees collapsing inwards and therefore structure and jing lost (not to mention eventual damage that it will do to her knees). Also, lower back often not relaxed. I'm amazed that her balance is so good despite these crucial problems with her structure and form.
I have been studying ths form since 1993 with two different Chinese instructors, in succession. This performer displays an amazingly flowing movement. Her transitions are marvelous!
shes better than my tai chi master- either im not going to the right place- or i need to start practising on my own to develop my own style! neway, how dyou download the video?
sometimes i felt like a everything that i do seems like not sence but then i relize that the love is all around us.feel our bodyes and feel the world....: )
can u really fight other people with this? i mean tai chi is only for defence right? so like if someone is trying to pick a fight u can't hit that person first?
If somebody is trying to pick a fight walk away, run or do whatever you can to separate yourself from the situation. If that fails then you have the right to defend yourself, by using enough force to defuse the situation. If your backed into a spot then you may use whatever is needed to insure your get away.
Make sense? Oh and this may seem like just a dance but I assure you its much more then that:)
Please, please look at history. The term taiji is fairly recent about 130 yrs or so. Before that there were many terms. Mian Chuen (cotton fist) or Chen's fist or Yang's fist.... The major styles of taiji trace their modern roots to the Chen style. Not Wudang or Shaolin.
This form called the 48 is a mixture of 4 family styles developed in 1976. This performer is good but she is broken in many places and looses her potential for attack and defense. Push & White Crane. Not sit in kua.
Yes - understand that the slow forms are about learning body mechanics (and are the tip of the iceberg). Practitioners then progress to fast forms, partner work, grappling, etc.
This is beautiful!! it reminds me of what I love about tai chi. It is a beautiful and peaceful martial arts that is good for the soul. Everyone should try this for overall health God willing it will change your life.
I had the same problem - but it is solved if you stretch your legs a few times a day! I had the problem long b4 I took kung fu, but it got worse. Now I just stretch and it helps so much! Just search for knee problem stretches or such. Make sure to find one that stretches the band on the outside of your leg - it has a weird name but I forgot what it is. Good luck!
Some basic yoga moves are great to combine as well, opening the hips so the knees don't suffer, basically the knee pain woud go if the hips are elastic, take a few classes with a good teacher and add stuff that helps to your practice, its really worth blending, check out dunkon wong on here too
LMAO ! ! ! Yo, She already hittin hard by how slow, steady, calm, relaxed, and powerful the movements are. I would just run as sson as I piss her off. If I stay that'll be like facing a tiger. She moves steady, focused, and poised like a cat. Peace
true, tai chi originated in wudang, but it is also practiced in shaolin and has developed into a slightly different direction there. Maybe he meant that with Shaolin tai chi quan...
Absolutly beautiful. We had to do this form in P.E. class. you should have seen the chaos and disruption that erupted when the teacher demonstrated 'repulse the monkey' and 'needle to sea bottom'
Her movements were slow and graceful. She have a strong and flexible lower body.
