This song is so cheesy but works well in the video. But I'm not gonna lie, I have it in my ipod. I wish there was a radio station out there that played nothing but old school country/southern rock.
Back in late 2000-early 2001 they started construction on improving 153. It wound up becoming a joke and eventually got pathetic. They were supposed to be done in December 2002. They finished it in August 2004. The company also was responsible for the Briley Parkway project in Nashville. That project they also missed the deadline by a ridiculous amount of time. Because of these two things they are no longer allowed to bid on T-DOT jobs.
I drive for a living and sometimes pack my camera. Been shutting it off on the 4 lanes (thought it would look boring). But sped up like this it flows nice... think I'll take some more footage and post it.
Well, I admit to burning fuel for entertainment. I have a couple cars that use premium as it is rather pricy. Add that to my %50 a month or more EZ Pass bill and it adds up. We do it to serve you all I guess. Very nice video fwj.
And we are very grateful for the ride. :-D Perhaps we could cost a trip in terms of $ per mile per view so @$60 for approx 36 miles in this video (my guess following along on google maps) with 153 views (at time of writing)... that's 1.0893 cents per mile per view! and counting...
I'm lucky.. no tolls around my area (also means... no freeways!) :-(
Just filled up tank this morning: $81 ($US92) for 63 litres (17 gallons)... it's getting worse! Lucky I got 600klms (960mi) from that tank.
We actually got a little more bang for the buck than that. We shot almost 2 hours of video which equaled 4 YouTube Videos after editing and nearly 400 still photos, that's not too bad.
You hit TN 153 at the right time... construction to completely redesign and rebuild the road finished up about 3 years ago. It was two lanes each way with minimal acceleration and deceleration lanes at the ramps.
I was thinking as I was watching this one "how does freewayjim justify the cost of fuel just driving around as a hobby?" ;-)
How's the cost of petrol (gas) over in the US at the moment? I don't think I could justify the fuel bill at the moment driving around as a hobby. :-( We're near hitting $AUD 1.40 per litre. About 4-6 years ago, it was around 70 cents per litre. With the Oil hitting $US100 per barrel.. they're saying it's gonna hit $1.50 per litre for us. (US$1 = 85 aussie cents atm)
It's painful...My car uses premium fuel so I'm paying $3.25 or so a gallon. This trip cost me about $60 or so in gas. But it's something fun for my son and I to do and he really enjoys visiting new places so there is value beyond the videos and the still photos we shoot along the way.
