Some people are so greedy , I went to a "healer" massage therapist who wanted to add $50 bucks just to use his chakra balancing singing bowls at end of the session! He shoulda added that shit for free! $50 for doing this for a minute?'!

I have a tibetan singing bowl, but whenever I spin my mallet around the bowl for a long period of time, it seems to cause the mallet to vibrate and stop the bowl from singing.

@Wingblade900 this is from the overtones created by the bowl you have to play with the amount of pressure your apply or completing taking it away when it does this for a period of time till you learn when your feel the build up starting, also play with tapping it in areas other then the rim etc while its ringing.

in anyones opinion which is better:

Tibetan bowls

Quartz crystal bowls

I really like the tibetan bowls but im curious to what others experiences an opinions are. Please share :)

I have both. Both are wonderful. I have heard some say they had better experiences with the metal bowls than the crystal, but I mostly use the crystal myself. The metal bowls have a more complex harmonics, the crystal bowls are close to a fundamental sine wave with just a few harmonics. You just have to find someone or a shop owner who has some. Sit, play them, close your eyes, listen. You might just prefer one or the other.

the thing i like most about this sound is that there isnt just one note playing on each bowl but there are at least 2 coming from each bowl....its like hitting a cymbal and putting your head to the edge of it

This video was incredible. I have had the pleasure of playing a tibetan singing bowl once and it was absolutely calming and wonderful. I can only imagine how it must feel to play that many and have the sound waves moving around you.

You'll likely have to order them from foreign countries to get anything worth your while. And it will be expensive, as they are hand beaten.

Big shop in Camden, London sells them. sorry can't remember where but if you google it, it may come up. I bought one from a festival off the guy based there. Small ones start at £30 quid though and are really quite expensive the larger you get, though i have found my (small) one worth the money

Quite right! All planets have a viberational sound (which I was witness in a Planetary Sound Meditation of our system - very powerful). The Sirius Star People from Canis Major and the Andromedans enjoy the sounds of the planets etc. Sound Healing :O)
