My friend waited afterwards and asked him if he'd seen these mashups, and he has - he said "Yeah, love 'em!!" . I got a page signed "To Star Wars man - great stuff, Bruce Robinson". Made my day!

@PoloniusBent I thought you were thinking of John Gielgud but I googled Alec Guinness and some sites mention this happening but on Wikipedia it says one biographer reckons it's an urban myth and people have confused him with Gielgud. Although Guinness was married he could have been gay, so many of the British acting legends were and were in the closet (it used to be illegal)
