  • wait, I think you're missing part of your guitar

  • oh my god his guitar got into his chest :D

  • well not bad, but you playing wrong note in the sequens (0:45) is a H,D,F,A sept, but you playing B ..is a takt nr.12 in the scores. (2:35) wrong note you play F scores G takt 24 in the scores. and finaly takt 28 end playing wrong notes in the sequens . use some legato it will be better....

  • You're right, but in my opinion the musical effect is not very different from the original;

so I think that this is the reason why I have not noticed these errors.

With regard to "legato playing", simlply I do not agree with you. I like my sound and this is exactly the effect that I wanted to get.

Words like "better" have only a relative meaning.

  • What the Player might not know is that Bach wrote this piece after his first wife died. It's an incredibly sad tune, and it's missed entirely. Too bad because you play quite well.

  • nice broken guitar!

  • You are incredibly HOT!...

But aside from that fact, I really enjoy your versions of Bach. It gave me some ideas for the piece, which I am working on.

Have you ever heard the violinist Lara St. John play this piece? You should check out her album. She projects his counterpoint the best I have ever heard. Might give you some extra ideas... it did for me.

Keep doing what you do! (aside from being completely hot)

  • I thought it sounded great. I'm working on the 16th Paganini Caprice for electric guitar. It's really tough.

  • Really nice playing! :)

  • I throughly enjoyed that!

  • very good!

  • Hmmm I see why you would use a pick to emulate the higher pitch of a violin but I think you'd get better tone using your fingers. Not so sure about the distortion as well but at least you didn't over do it :) I'm learning the chaconne as well and it just sounds better (imo of course) with a clean guitar sound. Good playing though

  • I appreciate your work.

But a big mistake is to play, specially this solo pieces, using exclusively pick strokes. Using palm muting and legato in a consistent way adds interest.

  • Thank you for your comment!

Anyway... I like very much the sound of "all notes with pick" :)

It's only a personal point of view, of course! ;)

  • what guitar is that? what are you currently using? great playing btw.

  • that's an ibanez prestige modofied by me (discontinued model, I don't remember exactly...:)). Now I use a guitar handmade by ME! :O

    I work also as liuther.

The black one s an RG321 MH, with "inf" pickups

  • great!!!

  • just a couple of days ago i was thinking about playing some of Bach`s violin sonatas on my electric guitar.

now you show that is possible to do it. Great control of the distortion noises! that´s very difficult to do with this music because is not made for the electric guitar.

  • Ottima esecuzione, fluida e pulita.

Eheh)

    Rock on!

    Grazie cmq! :)

  • complimenti

  • Did cutting a massive chunk off the body of your guitar not effect the resonance of it Antonio ?...

  • No, but I've also change my bridge from "floyd rose" to a "fixed one", so probably I've got more sustain and better resonance trasmission with this customization. ;)

  • I can't believe you butchered such a nice looking guitar man lol. But still, you play it very well indeed, great vids. You should cover Cask of Amontillado (Michael Romeo) or Majestic Blue (Malmsteen) :D

  • totally bad ass

hey ceci have u heard alex masis recording of this on his IN THE NAME OF BACH? its bad ass..check it out..it might inspire u to play the CHROMATIC FANTASIA....ciao

  • You have 3 or 4 wrong notes but otherwise it's nice to see a rock musician interest in Bach, specially the violin solo repertoire that is all masterpieces. You should try mellowing your tone and putting a volume pedal somewhere in the chain to achieve fortes and pianos, and you might have more of a concert piece instead of a study.

  • Thank you for comment! ;)

Anyway, I like to preserve the natural dynamic range of electric-distorted guitar that is, obviously, very very lower of acustic instrument like violin or piano. So I don't like the idea of add some external "things" like volume pedal.

At the end, I want that my execution sound like...an electric guitar, not like a violin copy! ;)

  • yah shut ur ass noob..btw its not rock its neoclassical..dumb fuck...and oh yah...listen to ALEX MASIS IN THE NAME OF BACH...ull hear the real deal

  • I've been playing violin for 12 years, I've played the whole second Partita and I've heard the whole Bach violin solo repertoire at least a dozen times. No need for calling me noob. I'm just giving suggestions, I respect this guy's version and I rated it highly. And Bach is not neoclassical unless you make an arrangement, this is a note by note cover/version not an arrangement per se. The REAL DEAL? go look for Rachel Podger's version of Bach partitas and sonatas with a baroque violin.

  • Mm. I wonder who´s the noob - the guy who can spell and bases his arguments on facts, or the other who .. You know.

Anyway, I think the tone could be a bit cleaner. It sounds a bit messy with no background, like drums etc (as it should be, being a classical piece - I have a background of violin too!) But hey, I´m not complaining! Great work! It´s always a pleasure to see your great technique in action.

  • ha sorriso!!

scherzi a parte, sei troppo bravo..un saluto :D

  • J.S.Bach was a genuis for mading great master pieces like "Fugue" and "toccata" and you too master i like your playing very much.

  • :-)

  • Awesome stuff antonio!

  • Finalmente ti ho tra gli amici...!

    Cmq...

Sei meglio come metallaro... Scherzo :-)

Pero' come prossima cover non credo vada bene un pezzo cosi'...ah ah!
